Chapter 1 - A Stranger Covered in Iron

"So that's the person you found?"

"Yes, Little Star." The Commander responded in a hushed voice to the female next to him. "We've only observed them so far, but they seem to have passed out from their injuries."

Cheon Song, the Little Star and only daughter of the current Demon Lord, simply stared at the armor covered being laying a distance away. Their armor was made up entirely of iron. The feet were etched with small wings, though the feet looked a bit strange.

The skirt held was lined in chain-mail, often seen in the Emperor's Guard. Yet, the sword hanging from the the waist belt was straight and thinner than the ones they used. The symbol on the chest and strange looking shield hanging off their left arm was also something she had never seen before.

The stranger's hand that loosely held a spear on the right was missing a finger, while the rest seemed a little thicker and longer than her own, given how the metal was shaped. What's more, the helm was also shaped weirdly.

There seemed to be extra space to hold something at the back of the helm, as well as being shorter than it should be. What awed her the most, though, were the wounds that the stranger had.

Arrows filled the stranger in various ways and all but pierced the shield in some places. The helm looked like a club was taken to it, yet it had hardly caved in. The left thigh was bleeding from what could only be a sword. The left arm also received a crushing blow, even looking at how the armor caved in made her grimace.

"How long?" She asked as she straightened herself on the tree branch once more.

"It's been about an hour and a half. I don't know why they hold on, but I fear they won't last any longer." The Commander responded with a sigh as he shook his head. "I think it to give them mercy."

Song closed her eyes and sighed with a nod. She knew this was for the best. Perhaps this stranger would have a letter they can deliver.

Jumping down from the branch, she landed gently on her feet and walked to the stranger with her hands held behind her back. Not even two steps in did 20 more jump from the various trees to join her.

Like her, they all wore black Guzhuang lined with a deep red lacing. While her sash was a deep red, one wore a loght red sash while the rest wore a blue sash to signify their rank. Their steps could hardly be heard, showing how skilled they all were.

Finally reaching the stranger, two stepped up to them while the rest drew their swords and stood around them in formation.

"Make it painless." Song ordered just as one of the soldiers reached down to grab the spear.

Just as he touched it, the stranger gripped their spear with a grunt. The one on their right barely jumped back enough to avoid getting slammed by the top of the shield. The one to the left wasn't so lucky to avoid the tip of the spear that came out of nowhere, piercing his thigh.

"B-back up!" Song shouted as she jumped back and drew her sword.

As they trained, two helped the injured back away to tend to their injuries while the rest stepped cautiously back from the stranger.

To their surprise, a feminine groan left the stranger's helm as they stood slowly. Struggling to their feet, they stood proud with their spear standing at their side and shield to their chest. The group could hear how heavy their breath was, showing how exhausted they were. Yet, they felt pressured by the scanning gaze as the stranger turned their head.

"You are...not Cavinare?" A tired, feminine voice asked as she looked directly at Song.

Song could only swallow before taking a deep breath. "I am Cheon Song, daughter to the 7th Demon Lord Cheon. Who are you and what is your purpose for trespassing in our lands?" She questioned as she adjusted herself to point the tip of her blade at the stranger.

"I see. Humans...never change." The stranger sighed as they leaned on their spear.

Slowly, they began pulling some of the arrows out of their body with light grunts and tossed them to the ground. The rest could only watch in stunned silence as blood gushed from the stranger's wounds as each arrow was pulled.

As the last arrow fell, a green light began to glow within the stranger's armor, making the rest weary. It only lasted for a short moment, but they noticed the blood no longer spilled from the armor, as well as how the stranger's breath steadied a little.

"Now then." The group heard the stranger say before she suddenly stepped left and stabbed at one of the soldiers with her spear.

The man let out a grunt as he tried to swipe the spear away with his sword. This only caused the tip to delve into his left shoulder. Just as the rest reacted to the sudden attack, she stepped right to sweep at two of the soldiers. Both tried to block the blow, only to be sent flying back into the woods.

"Stand back, Little Star!" The Commander ordered as he pointed at the stranger. "Wear them down!"
