Aria
When I turned around to see who was calling me, I saw a staff member who looked confused to see me here. I just smiled awkwardly while scratching the back of my neck, glancing toward the hallway where Steffany had turned earlier.
"Are you looking for someone, Aria?" The staff member asked when he saw me looking at the now-empty hallway.
"No, no. I thought I saw someone there, but I guess I was mistaken," I replied, waving my hand gently and laughing softly.
I quickly approached the staff member and pulled her away from that spot. Steffany was no longer there, so now I was the only one who could be suspected of being in that place. Even though I didn't know what that place was either.
For the last time before I completely left the location, I glanced back and made sure that Steffany was really not there. I didn't expect to lose track of her right in front of my own eyes.
