Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: League Domination System

It was a rather short month. I graduated from the academy and now I'm currently unemployed. Seriously, I thought getting at least a decent workplace would be fine, how come I never got one at all???

I sighed deeply as I let myself fall on my bed.

"Jeez... I wonder what's on tv today... Oh yeah, the Local Matches are taking place today. I think I missed most of the matches by now... Eh, let's just watch."

I went to the living room and turned the tv on. I grabbed some snacks and water and sat on the couch.

"8-3! Dark Scars wins another point against Plasma Strikers!"

"Fred, do you think the Plasma Strikers are really gonna pass the local tournament at this point?"

"HAH! Honestly, if you said that the Plasma Strikers would disband by next week, I'd believe you easily. But even stepping foot on the local tournament? Nah, their performance since the last 3 years have never been good at all. Their only win was against the weakest team but that was 4 years ago! That team quickly redeemed themselves and skyrocketed to the big leagues in a span of 4 years! They can't even dream of reaching the nationals at all!"

I scoffed at the commentary. It's expected. The Plasma Strikers aren't exactly a strong team.

I observed how each player played and honestly? Completely dogshit.

The captain, who's name I completely forgot in a span of a month, was panicking every time their opponent passed him. Brendan? Way too busy staring at the tits of one of the Dark Scars' female players. That isn't even the end of it. Passes are total blunders. One of the defenders tried to pass the ball once but it went to the enemy instead. The only reason why the point gap isn't past 20 is because of the goalkeeper. I know the dude. Noah's a natural talent and by far the only one who's the most talented in the team.

"I feel bad for the goalkeeper. The dude's gotta live with a broken future just cause his teammates are just outright dogwater."

I can't agree more.

Jeez. If only I had something to help me get in the Dominion League at least once.

[Welcome]

"Huh?"

[Welcome to the League Domination System]

"What the fuck!?"

A panel appeared in front of me and a robotic voice rang in my ears.

"Holy fuc- what the hell!?"

A system? Holy shit! A system!?

"FUCK YE-"

A loud thud on the wall disturbed me.

"Fucking Shut Up!"

Oh yeah, right, I forgot I had a neighbor. Ehehem.

"A system, huh? Let's see."

I tried imagining to open the panel to show my personal stats. The system opened, which was a bit of a surprise, but excitement overwhelmed shock.

Holy shit. This is fucking amazing! There isn't a point-based stat increase but this is still dope! Also, Adaptor? Damn, I didn't know I even had skills like this.

Wait... I... I have a chance don't I? But... How do I even become a player?

[New Quest!]

Huh?

Gather potential members and ensure your bond with them is positive.

[0/5]

Potential Candidate: Noah Cyrus(Goalkeeper)

Woah woah woah hold on a minute- what in the- why?

Also, potential candidate? Noah? I mean, sure we're pals and all, but the dude's barely even hanging on the goal of being a player of a Dominion League team!...

I mean... It... Cant hurt trying, right?

I stared at the panel in front of me a bit longer before sighing. This is a chance to become an actual Dominion League player, right? If so, then bring it on.

[New Quest!]

Huh? The fuck?

[Train Your Body You Dimwit]

Before building your team, firstly build up your body to a much leaner build for a month.

Time Remaining: 1 Month

What in the- SERIOUSLY!?

I... Ugh, I'm not even gonna bother. Also- FUCK YOU CALLING A DIMWIT!? I tolerated you with the insult of my last name telling me to change it in the future but you're SERIOUSLY going out of line.

... Of course I didn't get a response.

I stood from the coach and did a few stretches. I went to a mirror and looked at my body. I wasn't exactly built for sport. My arms and legs are thin, my belly looks like it took all of the nutrients of the food I ate. Yeah I'm in desperate need to change.

I only sighed and grabbed my phone, trying to find the nearest gym in the area. It didn't take much time to find one online. It's about 10 minutes away from my apartment if I walk. Perfect.

I grabbed a few of my stuff. A water bottle, some snacks, towel and a spare change of clothes. Placing the stuff in a duffle bag, I then left the apartment, not forgetting to lock my door on my way out.

The 10 minute walk was a bit of a scenery, but most of it was pretty much just the dirty side of the world. Thievery, prostitution, exhibitionists and whatnot.

I entered the gym once I reached it.

"Greetings! Is there anything I can help you with today, sir?"

A cute girl- EHEM... A girl behind the counter asked with her innocent and cu- EHEHEM... Asked politely.

"Uh, yeah? I wanna apply for a membership and, if possible, a personal trainer as well?"

"A membership and a personal trainer? Are you planning on having a glow up?"

She says, her eyes checking me head to toe curiously.

I gave her a meek nod.

"That'll be 5 credits for the membership for a weekly, 10 for monthly, and 30 for a yearly. What do you prefer?"

"Yearly, please."

The girl nodded. I grabbed 30 credits from my wallet and gave it to her. After she grabbed the credits, she typed away on the computer in front of her before she gave me a card, signifying my membership.

"For your trainer, we'll have to find an available one as there isn't anyone free in the meantime. If you don't mind me asking, for what reason do you need a trainer for?"

"Err... For the Dominion League?"

She paused as I mentioned the Dominion League, but quickly recovered from her slight shock.

"I see. We'll find a trainer for you. What range are you willing to pay?"

"Err... 50-80 credits?"

"I see."

Once again, she typed away on the conputer before looking at me.

"For your trainer, we will meet you tomorrow. Although feel free to use the gym as you now have a membership after all."

"Thank you."

Now my journey starts!
