The sun never rose.
Hours passed, but the sky remained locked in twilight — a glitching horizon that bled between night and day, as if the world couldn't decide what time it wanted to exist in.
Rex walked through the ash plains, every step echoing like a heartbeat inside a broken world. The message still burned in his mind:
[Main Quest: Kill the Fallen King.]
Target: Rex Valen.
He laughed — low and bitter.
"They really want me dead in my own game."
But inside, fear twisted like a knife.
If the system wanted him dead… then who was running the system now?
He found shelter inside the ruins of an old beginner's village. The place was familiar — wooden training dummies, half-collapsed huts, and the faint memory of tutorial music that used to play here.
Now, there was only silence.
A flicker of movement caught his eye. Someone — no, something — was sitting by the broken fountain. A girl, maybe fifteen, her face half-covered in static.
When she looked up, her eyes glowed with faint gold code.
"You came back," she whispered. "Just like the prophecy said."
Rex froze. "You know me?"
She smiled — sad, broken. "Everyone in this world knows the Fallen King. You created the code that destroyed the reset."
He stepped closer, his pulse quickening. "That's impossible. I didn't create anything. I just… played."
Her expression darkened. "You played god, Rex Valen."
Lightning cracked across the glitching sky.
Something in the air shifted — and a holographic text appeared above her head:
[NPC: Seris – Fragmented Oracle]
[Hidden Memory Detected.]
She stood and touched his chest, where the faint red insignia glowed beneath his shirt.
"The system marked you for deletion, but I can give you something it can't control."
Rex narrowed his eyes. "What's that?"
"A way to start again."
Before he could speak, she pressed her hand against his heart. His vision burned white.
[New Core Installed: Level Zero System.]
[You are now outside the global network.]
[Status: Unregistered Entity.]
Rex gasped as blue fire erupted around his body, wrapping him in streams of broken data. His veins pulsed with power — unstable, raw, alive.
Seris stumbled back, fading like mist.
"Use it carefully. The world will see you as a virus now."
"Wait—Seris!" Rex reached out, but she was gone.
Only her voice remained, echoing in his mind:
"To fix this world… you must destroy the one that made it."
He stood there, surrounded by static flames, trembling from the energy flooding through him.
A new message appeared:
[Skill Unlocked — Reality Rewrite (Lv. 0)]
Description: Alter fragments of the world using broken code. Unstable. Dangerous.]
Rex grinned — the first real smile since waking up here.
"Reality rewrite, huh? Let's start patching this broken game."
The sky glitched again — revealing thousands of red beacons lighting up across the horizon.
Each one marked a player hunting for him.
[Alert: Global Bounty Activated — 1,000,000 EXP for the Fallen King.]
Rex clenched his fists. The game had declared war.
And this time, he wasn't playing to win.
He was playing to end it.
