Draft Overview

[FOUNDATIONS OF THE WORLD]

1. The Core Premise

The world runs on remembrance.

To exist = to be remembered.

To be forgotten = to be erased from the Archive.

This is both the metaphysical and mechanical rule of reality.

All life and matter exist within The Archive, an ethereal memory-space maintaining the records of existence.

2. Creation Myth

Before the Bleeding:

The supreme being, Theion, feared the silence of oblivion.

To preserve himself, he birthed the Aeons, fragments of divine consciousness tasked with remembering all things.

The Aeons created a mortal plane, a world of flesh and memory, where beings could live and feed the Archive through experience, emotion, and interaction.

3. The Aeons (The Rememberers)

Each Aeon governs a fundamental function of memory and existence.

Name, Domain, Role, Symbol/Color

Mnemos: (Memory and Continuity) Overseer of remembrance; regulates existence in the Archive.White spiral eye / Silver glow

Erethis: (Emotion) Channels feeling into existence, powers Resonance.Crimson teardrop / Scarlet hue

Karthos: (Death & Deletion) Executes erasure when memory balance tips.Black feather / Pale voidlight

Veyra: (Creation & Record) Forger of form; transforms remembered thought into matter.Azure quill / Blue luminescence

Orryn: (Reflection & Truth) Guardian of memory's distortion; represents awareness of being seen.Shattered mirror / Iridescent shine

4. The Bleeding (Cataclysm)

Worship of the Aeons and Theion caused an overflow of remembrance.

Too much memory = corruption of the Archive's order.

Theion's divine body bled memory, which took form as monsters, Bleedborn, half-thought, half-flesh entities.

Mnemos sealed the bleeding by rewriting existence's laws, creating Marks and the finite pulse system.

[SYSTEMS OF EXISTENCE]

1. The Mark System

The Mark is a glowing sigil imprinted behind every sentient being's arm.

It reflects their resonance strength (how deeply the world remembers them).

Acts as both life counter and identity record.

The brighter or more complex the Mark, the stronger one's connection to the Archive.

If the Mark fades completely — total erasure from existence.

Visuals:

Location: Back of the arm or forearm.

Color: Varies with vitality (How much time left/How memorable).

Shape: Spiral Vein — branching sigils resembling veins of light.

2. The Pulse System (Aging & Existence Timer)

Each being has a finite number of memory pulses like a soul heartbeat.

Every interaction adds or subtracts pulses.

The body ages as pulses decay.

Powerful beings slow aging by inspiring strong emotion in others (thus gaining new pulses).

"Immortality" is impossible because eventually the Archive prunes over-remembered data.

Solved Infinite Life Loop:

Even if two beings remember each other forever, their emotional impact diminishes over time, leading to natural entropy death.

The Archive only sustains what remains emotionally active. And even then the Blood Event would wipe out the most unimpactful beings.

3. Death Types

Name, Description

Entropy Death: The natural decay of resonance, memory cools to silence.

Social Death: Forgotten by society; erased even if alive.

Psychological Death: Loss of self-image causes partial fade; identity corruption.

Deletion (By Archive): When balance breaks, erased in Blood Event.

4. Mark Theft & Fragmentation

One may steal another's Mark or fragment of resonance by causing overwhelming emotional impact (love, terror, betrayal, murder).

Fragments can merge leading to hybrid powers or corrupted resonance.

Too many foreign fragments cause instability — Fractured State (a walking paradox).

5. The Blood Event (Balance Reset)

When births exceed deletions, The Archive initiates the Blood Event, the Scarlet Reverie.

Memory rain floods the world, deleting the least impactful beings.

Survivors awaken changed, their Marks often evolving through trauma.

Considered divine punishment or renewal cycle.

EMOTIONAL RESONANCE (THE POWER SYSTEM)

1. The Five Reservoirs (Simplified)

Each Mark draws power from a dominant emotion.

Emotion, Element, Strength, Weakness

Faith: Light, (Creation and Protection) [Pride, Self-idolatry]

Fear: Shadow, (Control and Survival) [Madness, Corruption]

Love: Empathy, (Restoration and Links) [Drains if unreciprocated]

Hate: Flame, (Force and Destruction) [Burns lifespan]

Despair: EchoIllusion, (Memory-Summoning) [Mental decay]

Each user manifests their Resonance differently, shaped by their emotional narrative.

2. The Law of Reflection (Orryn's Curse) (Will be known properly as the story progresses)

"Every memory gained must pay a reflection."

Too much recognition corrupts the self.

Beings too remembered are deleted to preserve equilibrium.

Powerful figures hide their names and faces to survive.

3. The Fractured Mark (Orryn's Mirror Logic)

Discovered later by the our Main Character.

[Will be known further at the later chapter)

4. The Emotional Economy of Survival

"Existence is traded in feelings."

Heroes and monsters both compete for attention one through inspiration, the other through terror.

This makes every action morally weighted: good and evil both serve survival.

5. Core Themes

Fear of oblivion

The morality of survival

The cost of being known

Memory as divinehood

Emotion as physics

Summary — Reader Clarity Sheet

Why people die — Fading emotional resonance.

Why not immortal — Diminishing impact & Archive pruning.

How power works — Emotional weight = energy.

How Aeons died — Remembered too strongly, overwritten by adoration.

What monsters are — Fragments of corrupted divine memory.

Blood Event purpose — World's self-cleaning cycle.

Mark function — Both identity and battery of existence.
