After a few hours we finally arrive to the hotel that i booked for us
"Oh shit this looks fancy"
"Yeah I mean I think we deserve it after everything we've been through at work and outside it"
"Oh yeah you're telling me, but thank god everything finally calmed down"
"Yeah but let's go see the room I got us"
After getting our room keys from the guy up front we take the elevator up to the tenth floor and head for the room. I open the door and let Krystal inside
"What the fuck?!?"
"What?"
"This room is crazy, is that a fucking jacuzzi?!?"
"Oh yeah forgot about that, but the rooms nice right"
"Oh yeah.. I'm definitely getting in that jacuzzi in a little bit. There's only one bed?"
"Yeah… why?"
"Oh nothing I prefer it that way"
"Ok good"
"Well anyways do you want to head to the beach?"
"Yeah let's go"
We jump back in the car and head down to the Santa Monica pier, we find a place to park and get to the pier and start walking down it
"Wow, this looks nice. You ever been here before Ant"
"Yeah a long time ago, it's all kinda a blur to me though"
"Too young to remember?"
"Yeah I guess so, I do remember the arcade clearly though"
"There's an arcade?"
"yeah it's probably more updated now but i remember all the old cabinets"
"Hmmm we should go"
"Really?"
"Yeah it sounds like fun, also we can have a little competition"
"Oh what did you have in mind?"
"Well we both take turns picking a game, we play it and see who wins, best three out of five. Loser buys the winner ice cream"
"You're so fucking on"
We head to the arcade and I take a look around
"Just like how you remembered?"
"Ehhh more modern but I see they still have a lot of the old school games here"
"Alright so flip a coin who picks the first game?"
"Bet."
"Heads or tails"
"Tails"
She flips the coin and catches it
"Heads, I pick first"
"Don't matter because you're going to be owing me ice cream after this"
"We'll see Jay. Let's see… oh air hockey"
"Fuuuuck"
"Ohhh not so good at that game?"
"Not really"
"Awww it's ok"
We head over to the air hockey table and start playing. Krystal puts up three points right away
"Fuuuuck"
"Oh yeah my favorite ice cream is chocolate chip cookie dough"
"This is barely starting"
"Yeah but I already have a feeling you're going to be buying that ice cream"
After a few more minutes Krystal hits in the last point and takes the first game. She blows me a kiss and I just flip her off
"Awww don't be a sore loser"
"Alright my turn now"
She grabs my hand as I lead her to an old arcade cabinet
"What game is this?"
"Tekken 3"
"But what is it?"
"A fighting game"
"That's not fair"
"You made the rules not me"
I put the quarters in and we pick our characters
"Who the fuck did you just pick Ant?"
"King obviously"
"Why does he have a cheetah head?"
"It's a jag.. nevermind just pick your person"
"Uhhh I guess I'll pick this girl, Julia, she's kinda hot"
"I guess so, I don't know about that outfit trying to make her look Native American"
"I should get an outfit like that and surprise you one day"
"You wouldn't"
"Alright just wait" the game starts and I start beating her easily
"This isn't fair!"
"It's pretty fair
"I can't even get a hit on you"
"And couldn't score a point on you in air hockey so I guess we're even"
I beat her easily again
"So is that 1-1"
"Whatever ant"
We go back and forth in the next two games until we're tied at two
"So we're tied"
"Yeah but I get to pick the last game!"
"Shit, ok what game"
"I'll make it interesting for us, even playing field"
We head over to the next game
"This one"
"Mario kart?!?"
"Yeah why you scared?"
I start laughing
"Get ready to owe me some ice cream"
"We'll see about that daddy"
"We're doing this here?"
"Yeah got to throw you off your game a little"
we sit in the chairs next to each other and pick our characters
"Peach? What a basic ass pick"
"And look at you, donkey Kong?"
"Dont disrespect my boy DK like that"
Soon the race starts and we're both going back and forth, nobody in the clear lead yet. The final lap comes around and it still close to the very end until the winner is revealed on the screen
"Donkey Kong 1st place, Peach 2nd"
"Looks like I'm getting that ice cream"
"Hmmm I guess a bets a bet"
We head down a little bit to where the ice cream shop is and we order our ice cream. Before Krystal can pull out her card, I already hand mine to the cashier
"But you won?"
"Yeah but I was going to buy you ice cream anyways"
"You're sweet Ant"
"I try to be"
We sit at a table and eat our ice cream and talk for a little bit
"So is being an officer everything you hoped?"
"Well aside from to those two incidents, it's been kinda underwhelming but not too bad I love it"
"That's good"
"How about you as a dispatcher?"
"Boring, I get calls for random shit that doesn't need to be called for"
"What was your weirdest call?"
"An old lady called in about losing her cat"
"That's not that weird"
"The cats been dead for a couple years"
"Oh shit, yeah I guess that's kinda weird"
"Could be worse, I could be getting those scary calls"
"True, luckily cedar cove is somewhat quiet aside from the last month or so"
"Those were scary, I don't know how you dealt with that"
"It's hard but sometimes you just have to keep it pushing"
"Weird logic after seeing two murder scenes"
"I picked this career, gotta be prepared for anything"
We finish up our ice cream and the sun starts to set and the Ferris wheel lights up. I guess now would be the perfect time to ask her
"You want to walk to the end of the pier?"
"Yeah that sounds cool"
As we walk down we stop at the end and she just looks out at the sunset, I don't know why but it just makes her look even more beautiful than she already is
"Isn't that sunset nice"
"Yeah it is, we don't see this at cedar cove"
"Don't you wish you could just leave and move somewhere out here or anywhere else?"
"Yeah sometimes"
She just smiles as she keeps looking out and I just hear my brother in the back of my mind
"Stop being a bitch"
Alright I hear it goes.
"Krystal?"
"What's up?"
"Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah ask me anything"
"Well… how do you feel about me?"
"Like what do you mean?"
"That came out wrong… well do you like me?"
"Of course"
"No like… do you have feelings for me?"
She looks at me and gets closer
"Obviously I do, why do you think I've been so protective over you and trying to keep you away from Elena"
"Yeah I guess I should've caught on to that"
"I started slowly falling for you ever since that first night at my place, it just feels different when I'm with you, like I can be myself around you and I feel safe."
"I feel the same way, you've been there for me after everything I've been through these last couple of months."
She gets closer and brings me in for a long kiss, I pull her closer to me wrapping my arms around her waist. We pull apart and smile at each other and I speak up
"So we making this official?"
"I would love to"
We go in for another quick kiss and then head back up the pier and continue our night. The next few days we have a relaxing vacation enjoying each others company, forgetting about everything back home, just living in the moment until it was finally time to head back home
and get back to reality.
