A few days later I'm at the station working out and texting Krystal but she isn't responding. Maybe she's tired from the drive back and fell asleep, whatever it is but I just go about my workout, just minding my business when someone I've never seen before comes down. a woman around my age, super built with blonde hair. maybe she's the new dispatcher that's taking over for Elena.
I look up and just say hi to her and keep lifting, then she comes over and taps me on the shoulder
"Hey I'm Raven, the new dispatcher!"
"Oh hey I'm one of the officers here, Sanchez, but you can call me ant if you want"
"Ok nice to meet you"
"Nice to meet you too"
"Do you work out here often?"
"Yeah usually me and my girlfriend"
"Oh she works here too"
"Yeah she's a dispatcher also, you'll probably meet her Monday"
"Ohh I can't wait, maybe we can all workout together"
"Yeah that sounds cool"
"we have to stick together especially after everything, it's been scary"
"Yeah you're telling me, I'm the one that stumbled upon every scene"
"That sounds horrible"

"Me and my girlfriend were scared to even go to sleep because of everything"
"Oh trust me, I was in the same boat.. anyways I'm going to head home but I'll see you Monday"

Hmm nice girl, hopefully Krystal doesn't like muscle mommy's or else I might be in trouble. I head home and walk straight to the bedroom to see if Krystal was asleep. I walk in and she's not there, I look around the whole house and nothing, maybe she hasn't got home yet. I walk into the kitchen and I see an envelope on the fridge… an envelope with a hourglass stamped on it. I open it and read the letter
"Officer Sanchez, meet me at the abandoned warehouse on the outside of town, come alone. If I see one police car with you I'll kill your little whore. Like I said don't be a hero, I just want to talk"
"FUUCCCK!!! How the fuck did he even get in here…"
I hop in the car and race over to the station with the letter. I run inside and head to the captains office
"Cap!"
"Sanchez… you ok?"
"Look at this, I found it at my place"
She looks over the letter
"Fuck… we have to go with you"
"No he's going to kill her before we even bust in if he sees us coming"
"So what are we going to do, let you go alone!"
"Might as well…"
"We can't do that!"
"He's going to see us all coming, what other choice do we have?"
"We can put a wire on you, make it look like you're going in by yourself, we stay hidden where he won't be able to see us, once you signal us we'll swoop in"
"That's not a bad idea… what's the signal?"
"Fuck… I don't know"
"End of Heartache"
"What?"
"That was the last thing he wrote in the last murder, that's the signal"
"Alright, when you say that we'll storm the place"
"What happens if he tries something before the signal?"
"Do what you have to do Sanchez"
"Right…"
"We'll get you set up then head on out"
"Yes ma'am"
I walk out the office to go get set up. They set me up with a wire so they can hear everything and a ear piece that can't be detected so I can hear cap. as soon as I'm done with that I hop in the car and set out for the abandoned warehouse. I don't know what to expect, who knows if mark is even the guy. I just want to get Krystal out safe, whatever happens to me… happens, I'd rather her get out alive than me. It's time to put an end to this.
