Chapter 80: A Powerful Entrance
Horus flew away from the island, soaring toward the windless zone until he vanished into the thick clouds.
Roy sat atop the cloud, parting the mist with his hand as he looked down at the sea below. Then, after a moment's thought, he redirected Horus, flying in another direction above the clouds.
He didn't truly intend to leave the South Blue—this was merely to fool the Navy. The last thing he wanted was for them to track his next destination.
Horus glided silently over the clouds, heading straight toward the Kingdom of Torino.
---
Several days later.
A small island came into view—a colossal tree rising into the heavens, its crown disappearing into the clouds. Enormous birds with feathers of green, blue, and brown circled the treetop, their massive nests woven among the branches.
Strange plants grew along the tree's trunk and vines, forming a breathtaking, almost alien ecosystem.
Sengoku's assumption hadn't been entirely wrong, yet not entirely right either. The decline in Torino's medicine wasn't because its people lacked creativity—it was because they were simply too poor to sustain their research.
Roy looked down, scanning the island carefully. No naval warships patrolled the nearby seas.
For several days, he continued to observe from above, confirming that Sengoku hadn't sent anyone to tail him. Only then did he relax and descend toward Torino.
"Oh, look! Those humans are fighting the big birds!" Pandora laughed, floating alongside him.
"Master, do we just watch or take a side?" Horus asked curiously.
"I won't help anyone," Roy replied, eyes narrowing as he watched the chaos below.
Amatsuki Toki turned to him, her calm gaze resting on his face. She knew he had a plan in mind and waited quietly for him to continue.
"Horus, do this…" Roy said after a pause, whispering instructions.
Horus blinked in surprise but obeyed, descending swiftly toward the nearby forest and landing softly.
"Toki, stay here for now. Pandora will guard you," Roy said, turning to her.
"Alright. Be careful," Toki replied gently, stepping down from Horus. She leaned forward and kissed Roy lightly on the cheek.
"Once more," Roy said, tapping his lips playfully.
"Hmph… Is that enough? You greedy devil, go already!" Toki laughed, bending down to hug his head. The two bantered and chuckled softly together.
"Sister Toki, next time, let's share some candy—it'll taste even sweeter," Roy teased.
"You… you're impossible!" she exclaimed, blushing.
Roy laughed and gave her a quick playful squeeze before leaping back onto Horus. The thundercloud lifted him into the sky in an instant.
Toki covered her chest, flustered but smiling faintly. "That's too much…" she murmured, licking her lips and watching him disappear into the clouds.
She had always been gentle, and though Roy constantly teased her, she never pushed him away. Deep down, she had grown to enjoy these moments.
Her dreams of returning to Wano faded a little more each day. Meeting Roy had changed everything.
She no longer cared about time, destiny, or her failed ability. As long as she could stay by his side, that was enough.
Dressed in her pink kimono, Toki sat among wildflowers in the forest, toying with a tube of red lipstick Roy had bought her on the way. She smiled softly, thinking, Maybe I'll try this later—just to see his reaction.
---
Above the island, the sky began to darken.
The pure white thundercloud gradually turned black as Horus roared, lightning crackling around him.
"Boom!"
A streak of blue lightning tore across the heavens, and instantly, the battle below stopped. Humans and birds alike looked up in shock.
"Waaah!"
"Gah!"
The giant birds exchanged nervous cries, flapping their massive wings.
Dark clouds rolled in, swallowing the sunlight. The storm winds screamed, making even the armed villagers tremble.
"Boom!"
A purple bolt of lightning split the sky, spreading in a vast, web-like pattern that illuminated the battlefield in eerie violet light.
And in that flickering glow, a figure appeared—standing atop the storm itself.
"There's someone up there!" a fat man shouted, pointing at the thundercloud.
The people turned as one, staring in disbelief.
The giant birds shrieked and backed away, terrified. What kind of being could stand upon a thundercloud amidst such fury?
The clouds parted slightly, allowing sunlight to pierce through—and at that moment, they saw him clearly.
A young man with crimson hair, wild and wind-tossed, stood tall upon the storm. Lightning danced around him, illuminating his form like that of a wrathful god. Sparks flickered through his hair and across his body, yet none of it harmed him.
Roy looked down, his crimson eyes sharp and commanding.
He grabbed a bolt of lightning from Horus's storm and hurled it downward.
"Boom!"
The deafening crash shook the island. The blast scorched the ground black, leaving parts of it melted and glassy from the heat.
"Where do you think you're going?" Roy's voice boomed across the island.
The giant birds froze mid-flight, trapped under the oppressive pressure of his storm. Lightning flashed all around them, caging them in.
The terrified flock slowly descended, lowering their heads in submission.
Roy turned his gaze to the trembling humans. "Still want to fight?"
"N-No! No more fighting!" a fat man stammered, dropping his weapon. The others quickly followed, throwing down their arms.
"Could he… be Thor?" someone whispered in awe.
Roy smiled faintly. Everything was going according to plan.
If you want a proper negotiation, you start by calming everyone down and nothing brings peace faster than fear.
