Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: Young Linlin vs Young Tsuru

Chapter 87: Young Linlin vs Young Tsuru

The two vice admirals looked at Kong, who simply waved toward the two young people waiting at the door, inviting them in.

"Then, this task is entrusted to you. Do you have any questions?" Kong asked Tsuru.

"No," Tsuru replied calmly. She understood very well that the higher-ups would never consider her feelings.

"Alright. Go and prepare," Kong nodded, dismissing them.

Not long after.

At the naval base, Tsuru stood behind a naval lieutenant commander assigned to escort her to the Kingdom of Torino.

"Reporting to the base commander, reporting to the admiral, Sengoku requests permission to accompany us to Torino. Please approve!" Sengoku stood behind the base commander and Kong, saluting with burning determination.

Now that he had a Devil Fruit ability, he was eager to challenge Roy again and test their strength.

"No. Roy became cautious the moment he saw you, which means he can sense your intentions. He only shows wariness toward Tsuru. If you go, it will backfire."

Kong shook his head. Sengoku's expression dropped instantly.

"Tsuru, be careful on your journey. Never forget your duty as a marine. Remember, justice comes before everything else," Kong said solemnly.

"I understand. Please rest assured, Admiral. Please rest assured, Base Commander," Tsuru bowed respectfully.

"Go."

The branch base commander, who had raised Tsuru since childhood, waved at her.

"Goodbye." Tsuru glanced at him one last time before stepping onto the ship, the Lieutenant following behind her.

The base commander watched the ship drift away with a complicated expression.

He had adopted Tsuru, raised her, and treated her like a daughter.

This journey…

As a "father," he secretly hoped Tsuru would leave and never return.

The World Government was willing to sacrifice a gifted girl just to secure another talented child. They manipulated Tsuru's emotions without caring about her own will.

He didn't want Tsuru to remain in such a cold institution. He wished Roy would take her away and let her see the world instead of living as a tool for the government.

But as a marine officer, he also carried expectations.

He also hoped Tsuru could bring Roy into the navy.

"Sigh… Tsuru, it's all up to you now. Don't let yourself regret it."

...

Several days later.

South Blue.

The Kingdom of Torino.

On the beach, a young girl and a young woman glared intensely at one another.

A naval lieutenant commander stood trembling beside them.

"Are you in the Navy?"

"Are you a pirate?"

"So what if I am!?"

"I'm here to see Roy!"

"You? You want to find my brother Roy too?"

"Please don't ruin Roy's future, you filthy pirate!"

"Huh!? You called me a filthy pirate!?"

"Hmph! Why can't I see Roy!"

Charlotte Linlin and Tsuru stood face to face, neither backing down, a silent storm brewing between them.

A ferocious clash between a giant loli and a cool, composed girl was unfolding without a single punch thrown.

Their auras alone filled the area with tension.

"What terrifying girls…" The Lieutenant escorting Tsuru trembled as he looked at them.

"What did you say!?"

Linlin and Tsuru snapped their heads toward him in perfect sync, brows twitching.

"I didn't say anything!"

The Lieutenant immediately raised his hands.

"Can we just go into the village first? If you keep fighting, that person will get upset," the Lieutenant said carefully.

"Brother Roy already has Toki. And now there's this Navy girl too…" Linlin narrowed her eyes dangerously.

She sensed this navy girl was a threat.

If Roy had Toki, then Tsuru…

Would he stop caring about Linlin?

No!

Never!

Linlin roared inside.

Toki can stay by Roy's side. But Tsuru absolutely cannot!

At the very least… Tsuru had to come after her.

Otherwise, Linlin felt her position would be destroyed.

"Thank goodness Brother Roy hasn't arrived yet. I need to deal with her first!" Linlin thought.

She stomped the ground hard. Dust burst upward, and the Lieutenant flew screaming into the distance.

"You annoying marine, get out of here!" Linlin yelled.

"So she's Roy's adopted sister… she must be very strong," Tsuru thought cautiously as she looked up at the towering Linlin.

"Why should we leave? Roy and I are very good friends. We even trained together. You have no right to make decisions for him. Isn't that rude?" Tsuru glared back sharply.

She was here on an assignment, but she also had her own reasons for coming.

She planned to get close to Roy.

Who knew—

In the future, this bratty girl might even have to call her something affectionate.

"Hmph. My brother won't even look at a mere marine. You're just a lackey of the Celestial Dragons. My brother would never be interested in someone like you," Linlin sneered.

Ever since Roy started teaching her, she hadn't learned anything useful…

But her arguing skills had evolved dramatically.

"You… you…" Tsuru's face flushed with anger. This girl was awful!

But she couldn't think of a perfect retort.

"Stop arguing, let's just—"

The Lieutenant stood up and tried to approach.

Tsuru slapped him.

He instantly turned into clean laundry, fluttering onto the sand like a freshly washed shirt.

Swaying in the breeze…

"Hmph. Acting like a delinquent at such a young age. You're a disgrace to your brother!" Tsuru put her hands on her hips, scolding Linlin.

"You you you…" Linlin clenched her teeth so hard she wanted to punch Tsuru on the spot.

Not long after, a giant bird carrying a man and woman soared overhead.

Roy glanced down, stunned.

"Why is Tsuru here?"

And this battlefield…

Huh?

Roy glanced at Toki.

Toki wasn't even here.

So how did this disaster start?!

Truly unbelievable.
