Chapter 62 - Chapter 62

As time passed, the sun, which had been high in the sky, slowly began to descend. The intense sunlight weakened, and Yuuka Kazami, feeling this change while napping in the flower field, opened her eyes. She immediately looked at Kars, who had also woken up in her arms. It seemed Kars had woken up earlier but, unable to move much in their current position, had simply been lying still.

When Kars noticed Yuuka was awake, he felt he could get up. Although lying down was comfortable, his neck was starting to ache from lying on his side for so long. He wanted to get up and stretch his neck.

As Kars rose, Yuuka released her hands and watched him move his neck.

"Well, Sister Yuuka, I should head back now." Since they had finished sunbathing together, Kars felt it was time to go home. Overall, the day hadn't been perfectly ideal, but the outcome was quite good.

Hearing Kars's farewell, Yuuka nodded slightly.

"If you want to continue doing this, you can always come to the flower field to find me." Yuuka's words delighted Kars. This was undoubtedly good news for him. Having a reason to seek her out meant that with more contact, there was always a chance of success. Kars saw this as a fantastic development.

"Mhm! I know! Then I'll be heading back, Sister Yuuka. I'll come over whenever I have time at noon! Bye-bye!" Kars flew into the air, bid farewell to Yuuka Kazami, and flew back with a cheerful expression. His good mood on the way back made him feel light-headed while flying. He returned to the Scarlet Devil Mansion with this feeling.

Remilia could guess the situation just by looking at Kars's expression. Things seemed to have gone smoothly.

"Little Auntie, I'm back!"

"You're so happy. It seems you have some good news, right?"

"Yes, I do! Little Auntie, how could you tell?" Remilia scoffed at the question. "I can tell just by looking at your face. It would be impossible not to notice."

"That's true. But I'm really happy! Sister Yuuka said I can go find her whenever I have time. Little Auntie, doesn't that mean I have more opportunities to spend time with her?"

"Is that so? It sounds like you had a very pleasant time today." Remilia nodded. This was great news. Kars truly hadn't disappointed her. If things progressed smoothly, their marriage would be excellent news for the Scarlett family.

"Yes! And Sister Yuuka seemed to really like holding me while sleeping. Little Auntie, do you feel anything special when you hold me while you sleep?"

"Anything special? No." Remilia shook her head. She had never felt anything special holding Kars while sleeping. Coupled with Kars's earlier comment that Yuuka loved stroking his head, she wondered if there was something about Kars she didn't know.

"Is that so?" Since his Little Auntie felt nothing special, Kars was puzzled and decided to ask Patchouli and Koakuma. "I'll go ask Patchouli and Koakuma then."

Kars ran off to the Great Library to ask Patchouli and Koakuma the same question. Regarding the situation, Koakuma felt this only confirmed that Yuuka Kazami was a shotacon, and she even slept while holding him! I've never done that before…

Wait a minute, she had kissed Kars! What was sleeping while holding him worth compared to that? Remembering her past intimacy with Kars, Koakuma's slightly sour mood instantly vanished, replaced by a hint of smugness. That Yuuka Kazami is far inferior to me after all. It's a shame it only happened once, though…

"That is likely an effect that occurs while you are sunbathing or immediately afterward." Patchouli speculated and came up with this possibility. During that time, Kars's body energy would undoubtedly be more active, causing a reaction even without conscious control. Since he was absorbing sunlight, the sensation would be much more noticeable. Remilia and the others couldn't feel it because they were only around him at night. At that time, Kars hadn't been exposed to sunlight, and his body's energy was in a dormant state if unused, which is why they didn't feel anything.

"So that's what it is."

"Doesn't that just prove that she's only interested in Kars's body!" Koakuma offered her opinion. She felt that Yuuka was nowhere near as genuinely fond of Kars as she was. Yes, I have surpassed her in this aspect too.

"I feel like you're deliberately comparing yourself to Sister Yuuka, Koakuma." Kars could see this. Koakuma clearly had a very low opinion of Yuuka Kazami.

"So what! I just don't like that person!" From the moment Yuuka appeared and drew Kars's attention away, Koakuma had disliked the fellow shotacon. Especially since the person perfectly matched all of Kars's expectations. If Yuuka wasn't such a powerful Great Yokai, Koakuma would have sought her out for a fight. Since she couldn't win a battle, she would have to win in other ways, which made her feel slightly better, even if she knew it was a bit of self-deception.

Thinking this, Koakuma's expression became downcast.

"Koakuma, why are you suddenly unhappy? Did something unpleasant happen?" Kars noticed Koakuma's sudden change in mood and asked with concern.

Unpleasant? Her little boy, who was supposed to be hers, had run off to someone else! What shotacon could bear that result? It was tearing her apart! Especially since she could only watch helplessly. The thought that her own fantasies might be realized by Yuuka made Koakuma even more miserable. Why does that person meet Kars's standards so perfectly?

"There, there, Koakuma, don't be unhappy. Everything will be fine." Kars hugged Koakuma and, mimicking how they used to comfort him, gently stroked her head, hoping to cheer her up.

Koakuma hugged Kars back, burying her face in his neck, taking a deep breath, and then exhaling contentedly. Her bad mood had definitely improved somewhat.
