Chapter 68 - Chapter 68

The little devil, Koakuma, emerged from the room and approached Patchouli, seemingly no different from usual, quietly observing Patchouli teach Kars magic.

However, beneath the surface, her mind was preoccupied with private, unspeakable thoughts. The level of intimacy she had experienced so far was, in her opinion, far from enough.

The problem was that her opportunities to spend time alone with Kars wouldn't always be available. If she truly wanted to engage in certain activities, she needed to figure out a discreet solution that wouldn't be discovered.

This was proving to be quite a challenge.

"Koakuma, Koakuma?" Patchouli called Koakuma's name several times, looking at the little devil who was lost in thought, and wondered what was wrong.

"Ah? What is it, Lady Patchouli?" Koakuma quickly snapped out of it.

"What's wrong with you? I called you a few times, and you didn't respond. Hand me the second volume of the spellbook."

"Oh! I got it! Lady Patchouli, please don't worry about me, I was just spacing out." Koakuma replied, then quickly went to retrieve the spellbook Patchouli needed. Patchouli didn't think too much about Koakuma's explanation; she was even wondering if Koakuma was thinking about what they did yesterday.

However, Patchouli thought about Kars's attitude during their intimate session yesterday. Judging by his reaction, perhaps she could try a similar activity again? She still clearly remembered the intense sensations from yesterday, especially since she had the means to try it again. Thinking this, Patchouli decided to talk to Kars while Koakuma was away.

"Kars, do you need me to help you sleep today?"

"I don't think so today. I wasn't planning on going to Sister Yuuka's place to sunbathe and nap. It's pretty miserable to not be able to sleep at night." If he had managed to learn Meiling's ability to fall asleep at any time, going to see Yuuka Kazami every day would be a great option. Since he couldn't, he wasn't sure if he could manage to stay awake when being held by Yuuka Kazami. The surrounding environment and the feeling were very comfortable, and he wasn't completely sure he could resist falling asleep.

"I see." This wasn't the ideal result for Patchouli, as it meant she had no reason to keep Kars by her side for a nap, and she didn't know when the next opportunity would arise.

"Lady Patchouli." Koakuma returned with the spellbook. Patchouli took it and continued teaching Kars. As time passed, Patchouli ended the lesson in the evening.

"Didn't you go to the Sunflower Field today?" Remilia asked Kars, surprised that he hadn't gone to the Sunflower Field. She had expected him to return from there at this time, but he had emerged from Patchouli's library. Logically, shouldn't Yuuka Kazami be more attractive?

"I didn't go. I realized that after sunbathing and napping with Sister Yuuka yesterday, I couldn't fall asleep at night. It was hard to finally get to sleep yesterday, and doing that every day would be too draining."

"I think that's fine. It's helping you change your habits." Remilia didn't see any problem with it. It would just bring him back to a normal vampire's routine. As for liking the sun, she thought that was completely impossible.

"I don't want to sleep all day and only wake up in the evening." Kars couldn't adapt to that schedule. If he couldn't get sunshine, he felt like he would be constantly lethargic.

"Kars, shall we play hide-and-seek?" Flandre, feeling bored watching the two of them talk, asked Kars if he wanted to play.

"Sure." Kars immediately accepted Flandre's invitation. Playing with his little aunt was an obligation he should fulfill as her nephew.

"So, where should we hide?"

"The entire Scarlet Devil Mansion, of course!" The entire mansion was a huge area, making it an impossible challenge for Kars. Little Aunt Flandre, do you not stop to think about how big the Scarlet Devil Mansion is?

"That area is too big, Little Auntie. It'll be hard for me to find you."

"Then, as long as Kars finds one Flandre, you win! How about that, Kars?" Flandre looked at Kars expectantly. In her opinion, hiding in just a few small places was no fun at all.

Kars understood what Flandre meant. He knew Flandre could create three clones. If that was the case, the difficulty would be significantly reduced.

"Alright then."

"Yay! Let's start now! Count to three hundred, and Kars can start looking for Flandre!" Flandre was eager to start the game. As her figure shifted into four, they flew off in different directions. Kars then looked at Remilia.

"Speaking of which, Auntie Remi, don't you want to join us?" Kars had noticed Remilia looking at them when Flandre brought up the game. She looked like she wanted to join but felt too embarrassed to ask.

It had been a long time since he played with Remilia and the others. He remembered the last time they played was when Remilia rode a tricycle, carrying him and Little Aunt Flandre all around the garden. He felt nostalgic thinking about it.

"It would be boring to just play this game with Little Aunt Flandre alone. Oh, Sakuya can join too." Kars extended the invitation to Sakuya nearby. If more people joined, the large hiding area wouldn't be a problem.

"Hmm, I suppose playing a game with you wouldn't be so bad." Seeing Kars's invitation, Remilia nodded slightly in agreement. Her nephew was quite thoughtful, inviting her to play. Although hide-and-seek was a simple game, it wouldn't be entirely boring. It could serve as a little post-dinner exercise.

"I would be honored to play games with My Lady and the Young Master." Sakuya also happily accepted. For her, there was absolutely no scenario where she would refuse either Remilia or Kars.
