After making sure Sakuya was alright, Kars finally got dressed. As he thought about the day's events, he concluded that his time with Yuuka Kazami had gone quite well, even if the process left him with a slight psychological trauma. However, the main issue was his own. It seemed this experience had given Yuuka a new kind of anticipation for him, which was a good thing overall, he supposed.
On the positive side, the benefits outweighed the negatives, and it made him feel closer to her. Thinking about it now, the gains were quite substantial: he not only had a way to quickly revert to his adult form, but he also made new progress with Yuuka Kazami. Although it came with a slightly exasperating "fighting game," it didn't greatly affect his mood. After transforming into an adult with Nitori's device, he felt extremely energetic, so letting off some steam was a good idea, and it strengthened his relationship with Yuuka.
Kars could feel Yuuka's expectations for his adult self. If he truly performed to her satisfaction, could he naturally succeed in making her his wife? This thought excited Kars, and he immediately ran to find Remilia to share the news.
After hearing Kars's account, Remilia's expression was slightly off. She wasn't surprised by the Nitori aspect; Kars finding someone to help him regain his adult form was expected. The main concern was Yuuka Kazami. After hearing Kars's description, she felt that Yuuka was using her nephew for amusement. Her request for Kars to visit her and play the "game" while he was in his adult form clearly indicated this possibility. The fact that Yuuka seemingly wanted to "train" him to a level that satisfied her made Remilia wonder if she should intervene.
However, seeing Kars so happy about it, she decided to wait and see. It wasn't entirely a bad thing; Kars would get stronger from this, and she certainly wouldn't oppose that. Furthermore, if, as Kars claimed, their relationship truly grew closer, it would indeed be a good thing. She didn't fully understand the dynamic between the two, but as long as Kars was happy, that was what mattered.
"That being said, you absolutely must be careful." Fighting a powerful Youkai like Yuuka, even if it was just a game, could easily lead to accidents.
"It's fine. Little Auntie Yuuka was being careful, and besides, I don't get hurt easily. You don't need to worry too much." Seeing Kars's confident demeanor, Remilia was somewhat reassured. Kars usually spoke the truth when it came to these matters, so she didn't need to worry excessively.
"That's good. Oh, right, are things settled with Patchouli now?" Remilia was still concerned about that. Kars shook his head, saying no. Now, Koakuma couldn't be close to him like before. She could only watch him, sad that she couldn't touch him.
"Good. It seems everything is developing in an orderly fashion." Remilia nodded in satisfaction. This was how things should be. Now, all that was left was to wait for things to unfold until Kars married, had children, and expanded the Scarlet family. Then she wouldn't have to worry anymore.
"Kars, you must work hard. I believe your future will be great."
"I will! You can count on me, Little Auntie!" Kars replied with confidence. Remilia simply nodded, pleased. She loved this about Kars—his ability to positively respond to their expectations in all aspects, except for the matchmaking and sunbathing issues. But those were minor problems that were completely harmless.
"Alright, it's time for you to go back to your room and sleep." Remilia looked at the time and sent Kars off to bed.
"Not yet. I'm quite energized by today's events. It'll be hard to fall asleep right away. Patchouli had to sing me to sleep earlier."
"Is that so? Then I'll accompany you this time." Hearing this, Remilia took Kars's hand and led him back to the bedroom. After they lay down together, Kars nestled into her arms.
"Mmm." Kars felt a slight discomfort. Since he had been resting on soft breasts frequently lately, he was somewhat unaccustomed to his Little Auntie's situation. This made Remilia suddenly feel a wave of malice directed at her. She was confused about where this malice was coming from, never suspecting the one in her arms.
"Is that just my imagination?" Unable to figure it out, Remilia dismissed it as her imagination and focused on Kars. After all, coaxing the boy to sleep now was not a simple task.
Remilia gently hummed a song into Kars's ear. As time passed and she was sure Kars had fallen asleep, she stopped singing. She carefully removed the arm Kars had wrapped around her, kissed his forehead, and prepared to leave the bedroom.
"Sister, is Kars asleep?" Flandre opened the door and peeked into the bedroom. Remilia put a finger to her lips, making a shushing sound to indicate Kars was indeed asleep. Seeing this, Flandre flew into the room, sat down beside Kars, and seemed to be wondering what to do while staring at the sleeping boy.
"Flandre, come out with me. You can't wake Kars up now, understood?"
"Sister, I just want to stay here with Kars." Flandre said and slid into the bed beside Kars, seeming to intend to stay there.
"Then you must be very quiet, understood?" Remilia felt Flandre's willingness to behave was a good sign, provided she didn't wake Kars. Judging by the situation, Flandre would likely be careful.
"Mhm." Flandre nodded to show she understood. Remilia then left the room. After she was gone, Flandre leaned close to Kars's face, rubbed her cheek affectionately against his, and then kissed his lips.
