Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Two Prodigal Sons

Regardless of what Loki was thinking, Thor was certainly satisfied.

After holding it in for so long, he could finally declare that line with full authority.

Of course, the latter half of the sentence was added under the influence of the BT.

It must be admitted that shouting that line did bring a strangely satisfying feeling.

Thor gripped Mjölnir and said to Loki, "We need to talk, Loki!"

Seeing Thor raise Mjölnir again, a cold glint flashed in Loki's eyes.

"Thor, we have nothing to talk about!"

Before his voice faded, Loki raised the Gungnir and fired several energy beams at Thor!

Thor swung Mjölnir, batting away the incoming rays one by one.

Using the brief opportunity, Loki darted toward Heimdall, snatched the Hofund from his hand, and violently thrust it into the control pedestal at the center of the Bifrost Teleportation Chamber.

"Stop! Loki!"

Seeing this, Thor immediately swung Mjölnir and charged at Loki.

However, Loki didn't hesitate. He activated the Bifrost, turning the power to maximum, setting the target directly on Jotunheim!

In an instant, the entire hall was saturated with terrifying energy fluctuations.

Loki decided to go all the way, manipulating the Casket of Ancient Winters to release a massive wave of cold air, instantly freezing the Guardian's Sword along with the control pedestal, completely severing any possibility of shutting down the Bifrost.

The next second, Thor slammed into Loki, driving him heavily into the hall's wall.

But Loki, being a sorcerer with a tough hide, quickly stood up and sneered at Thor, "You can't stop me. Just watch Jotunheim be destroyed!"

"Loki! You've truly gone too far this time!"

Thor glared at Loki, Mjölnir in his hand sparking with explosive lightning, clearly preparing a lightning therapy feast for his little brother.

"Do you think I'm afraid of you?"

Loki scoffed, showing no sign of fear on his face.

On a normal day, maybe, but now he possessed Odin's weapon, the Gungnir, so he wasn't afraid of Thor at all.

Just then, a sudden, immense force pulled at the weapon in Loki's hand!

Loki was caught off guard, and the Gungnir instantly flew out of his grasp!

Du Mu was seen sitting securely on the BT's shoulder armor, holding a powerful electromagnet, which had firmly snagged the flying Gungnir.

"Expelliarmus!"

Loki: "..."

Looking at Thor, who was wreathed in lightning and steadily advancing, Loki forced a very strained smile.

"Thor, my brother, I suddenly feel like we can talk after all."

Loki attempted to appeal to their minute brotherly affection.

Sadly, he failed. The furious Thor had already rushed up, Mjölnir in hand, bringing ten thousand tons of thunder down upon him!

Rumble!

Following the continuous peals of thunder, it wasn't long before Loki's skin became the same shade as Heimdall's, his hair frizzled into fluffy curls, and he lay collapsed on the floor, spitting white smoke.

"The younger brother will always be the younger brother."

Du Mu strolled over only after the curtain fell on this brotherly drama of mutual destruction.

Seeing the energy in the hall becoming increasingly violent and expansive, Thor urgently said to Du Mu, "The Bifrost cannot be stopped now. I must destroy it immediately, or all of Jotunheim will be annihilated. But if I do that, you won't be able to return to Midgard."

Du Mu waved his hand indifferently: "It's fine. I planned on staying in Asgard anyway."

He could teleport back to Earth anytime, so he had no worries.

Besides, he still needed to "open the map" in Asgard and set a teleportation point, so he couldn't return to Earth right away.

Following this, the two, along with the BT, quickly evacuated everyone from the hall, moving them to a safe zone at the end of the Bifrost.

Then, Thor rushed to the center of the Bifrost and, without hesitation, raised Mjölnir, fiercely pounding the energy-transmitting bridge structure!

BOOM!!!

Accompanied by a deafening explosion, the bridge structure was forcibly smashed apart!

The surging, out-of-control Bifrost energy instantly churned up colossal waves in the sea below the bridge and even tore open a spatial wormhole in the deep abyss of the cosmos!

The broken Bifrost, along with the Teleportation Hall, was swallowed by the wormhole's terrifying suction, plunging into the vastness of the universe.

Du Mu shook his head, gazing at the earth-shattering scene.

Thor and Loki, these two brothers, were truly two prodigal sons.

First the Destroyer, now the Bifrost. Both were priceless artifacts, yet these two brothers managed to completely ruin them in a single day.

If their old father Odin were to wake up and hear this news, he would likely suffer a high-blood pressure episode and pass out again on the spot.

When the group recovered their senses and learned the Bifrost had been destroyed, their reactions varied.

Loki, especially, looked as miserable as if his biological father had died. He didn't even struggle or resist when Thor grabbed him.

Thor said to Du Mu, "I need to take Loki back to face judgment first. You can look around Asgard for now. I'll come find you after I'm done."

"Got it."

Thor grabbed Loki by the scruff of his neck, Mjölnir spun rapidly as he shot into the sky, and their figures vanished instantly.

Subsequently, the few Asgardians also departed.

They had all sustained varying degrees of injury and needed immediate treatment, plus they had some pressing matters to attend to.

For instance, Heimdall. With the Teleportation Hall and the Bifrost gone, as the Gatekeeper God, he was facing an unemployment crisis. He needed to quickly find a new job or face early retirement.

Before leaving, Sif gave Du Mu a pass: "Take this. You'll have unrestricted access within Asgard. As long as you don't go into the forbidden areas, no one will stop you."

Du Mu nodded, pocketed the pass, and then asked, "By the way, I have a question for you."

"What is it?"

"Uh, where's the Asgardian Vault? No other meaning, just curious."

"..."

After everyone left, Du Mu began exploring Asgard alone.

Unlike Earth, Asgard was not a traditional spherical planet but a flat, celestial continent suspended in the cosmos.

Strangely, there was no sun orbiting it, yet day and night still cycled.

Unscientific, but very magical!

Speaking of science, Asgard's technological level was clearly many centuries ahead of Earth.

Military structures high up in Asgard were covered with rune-embedded anti-air laser turrets, and anti-gravity airships occasionally passed through the sky.

Even the seemingly cold weapons in the hands of the Asgardian soldiers had some kind of energy core glowing in their hilts.

If the Asgardians' clothing style hadn't been stuck in the Middle Ages, Du Mu would have thought he'd stumbled into a sci-fi movie.

But the most unbelievable thing was that Asgard's buildings were practically all constructed from gold!

Even the roads he walked on were gold!

Du Mu's eyes were nearly blinded walking this path!

No wonder Thor and Loki were so arrogant. If he had this kind of wealth and a God-King father in real life, he'd be even more arrogant than them!
