As time passed day by day, the Scottish Highlands grew colder.
Every morning, the students had to brave the gusting drafts, wandering through the castle in groups of three or five.
It must be said that the temporary new school rules set by Dumbledore were quite effective; there hadn't been any incidents of students being petrified for a whole week.
Meanwhile, Professor Snape also began secretly investigating the Slytherin students to see who might have ties to the Gaunt family.
Professor Dumbledore himself then personally went to the orphanage where Voldemort had stayed during his childhood, intending to thoroughly investigate where he came from.
This amazed Harry; wasn't it odd for you to be the headmaster for so many years and not look into the students' backgrounds?
It's fine for regular students, but that was Voldemort, an inherently evil little imp!
If Harry were the headmaster, he would have long since uncovered every detail about Voldemort—even what kind of cake he had on his third birthday.
"Oh, sorry Tom, I forgot your mother didn't love you, even if she were alive, she wouldn't celebrate your birthday," Harry thought maliciously.
Given the presence of the snake monster in the school, Harry then bought a pair of Two-Sided Mirrors, wrote a letter to Pabi, and gave it to the owls in the owl shed, asking them to deliver it to Mr. Leme.
The gist of the letter was that the school was still rather dangerous, and it was advised that Pabi stay a while longer with Mr. Leme.
Mr. Leme's house was quite lively; on November 9th, Newt Scamander and his wife, Porpentina Scamander, arrived at Mr. Leme's cottage.
Newt had actually set out for France long ago, but due to some historical reasons, he found it hard to enter and exit.
It wasn't until today that he finally had legal entry into France.
As soon as he arrived in France, he and his wife Apparated to Mr. Leme's cottage.
The Scamanders were among the few wizards aware of Mr. Leme's cottage, so the Sword of Loyalty Spell didn't shield them.
"Mr. Leme," Newt stepped up and knocked on the door.
Soon, Dico opened the door, welcoming the Scamanders into the cottage.
Pushing the door open, they were greeted by Mr. Leme, who was intently staring at a glowing big box, his hand moving a mouse-like plastic object, occasionally making clicking noises.
Behind Mr. Leme was a unicorn asleep standing on the couch.
"Mr. Leme?" Newt tentatively greeted.
However, Mr. Leme did not respond, still focused intently on the big box.
Newt stepped forward, waved a hand in front of Mr. Leme's face.
Mr. Leme finally snapped out of it and unknowingly said "Oh."
"It's Newt, when did you arrive?" he chuckled.
Newt smiled awkwardly: "Just came in... What are you doing? I remember that last summer, Albus mentioned you planned to meet death with Mrs. Leme, and you sent me many things..."
"Oh, that," Mr. Leme smiled at Newt: "I regretted it, now I think living is actually full of joy—look at this, this..."
Mr. Leme, like a child showing off toys to a friend, introduced the items to Newt.
"This is the new product from the Muggles—a computer," Mr. Leme said happily. "Just this little thing made me rediscovered the meaning of life—see, in little more than a hundred years, Muggles have invented such interesting things, look at the Wizarding World?"
"The Wizarding World is fine too, Mr. Leme," Newt said.
"No, it's not," Mr. Leme said seriously, "Wizards are stagnating, completely losing their ambition—oh, let's not talk about this, you're here for..."
Newt then remembered his purpose for coming, his face reddened slightly as he spoke.
"I heard Mr. Potter at Hogwarts mention a unicorn lady—her name seems to be Pabi, right?"
"Yes," Mr. Leme said, "I forgot, you love magical creatures—don't you? Like how you always carry a few Sniffs in your suitcase, you didn't bring them this time, did you?"
"No," Newt replied firmly.
Mr. Leme was reassured, he smiled at Newt and said: "You must understand the difficulties of an elderly person, his Alchemy Room can't stand the destruction of a bunch of Sniffs, so you want to know about Pabi, right?"
"Yes," Newt nodded and said: "I heard Mr. Potter say that the unicorn Miss Pabi seems to not be very sensitive to taste?"
Mr. Leme glanced at the still-sleeping Pabi: "Yes, her situation is quite special, I still suggest you seek her opinion before researching..."
"Okay, Mr. Leme, okay," Newt said, sitting on the couch with his wife Tina.
"She's so beautiful, so elegant... Isn't she?" Tina gazed at Pabi, intoxicated.
Just as she finished speaking, Pabi's nose suddenly blew out a snot bubble, which burst with a pop under Tina's shocked gaze.
"Hoo... wasn't asleep, huh."
Pabi opened her eyes, somewhat confused, looking at the two new people in front of her.
