Chapter 268 - Chapter 138: Vivi: Harry, I Need Your Help... (12,000)_4

"It's a friend who asked me to buy it, his name is Nicolas Flamel," Harry answered honestly.

"Nicolas Flamel?!" Hermione suddenly screamed. She turned around from the passenger seat, excitedly asked, "You actually know Nicolas Flamel? How do you know him, oh my..."

"Remember the summer holidays?" Harry said to Hermione, "It was during that time... If there's a chance, I'll introduce you to him."

"Oh my, oh my, Dad!" Hermione still could not contain her excitement, "Did you know, Mr. Flamel is an alchemist who has lived for over six hundred years!"

"Oh, over six hundred years." Mr. Granger was obviously absent-minded.

While in the car, Vivi kept asking Mr. Granger about computers, various computer parts, their performance, and so on.

Mr. Granger was apparently quite talkative as well, patiently explaining all these computer-related knowledge to Vivi.

When they got out of the car, Mr. Granger suddenly honked the horn.

"What? Over six hundred years?!" He said in shock, "Wow, magic is really incredible."

It was the first time Hermione had seen her dad take so long to process something—though perhaps it was because of the interruptions and driving, after all, dad really liked computers.

Mr. Granger led them into a mall in London, first heading to a store that specialized in selling computers.

"Are you here to buy a computer?" The salesperson enthusiastically approached and said to Mr. Granger with a smile, "Are you planning to buy a home computer for the kids? Well, take a look at this one, with the latest Pentium 486 processor. It's only 2399 British pounds."

Harry hadn't said anything when Vivi suddenly spoke up, "Can it be any cheaper?"

"I'm sorry, miss." The salesperson smiled politely and said, "We are already at the lowest price..."

"But the Pentium 486 is a product from 1989, sir." Vivi said logically, "News reports have pointed out that Intel Corporation is planning to launch the new 586 processor in March next year. I don't think the Pentium 486 should be sold at this price now."

Both Harry and Hermione looked at Vivi, the former not surprised, and the latter quite shocked.

Shocked that Vivi, a pure-blood wizard, could learn so much about computers from a few words with dad in the car, and even apply them in bargaining...

Oh my, Hermione thought she was already quite a top student, but never expected that this Miss Grindelwald...

Wait, Miss Grindelwald?!

Hermione suddenly felt a little suffocated, she remembered the content from the Chocolate Frog card.

Dumbledore defeated the Dark Wizard Grindelwald in 1945... Grindelwald...

However, Miss Grindelwald was still bargaining rapidly and clearly with the salesperson.

The salesperson was also shocked, he never expected someone who looked so sophisticated and wealthy to use computer knowledge so fluently to haggle.

No, someone from a wealthy family like you should be able to pay the asking price without bargaining, right? Why would you haggle in such an undignified manner?

"So, 1899 pounds, sir." Vivi finally revealed the Dragon Slayer Sword, "I think this is a reasonable price, considering the new 586 will be released next year... We plan to buy five units, this is a great opportunity to clear out inventory, don't you think?"

"Alright... Alright then." The salesperson wiped the sweat from his forehead and agreed to Vivi's Dragon Slayer offer.

"Please deliver to this address." Mr. Granger left the Granger family's address with the salesperson, "Just deliver it here."

"Don't worry, sir." The salesperson nodded and said, "Let's proceed with the payment here."

They wasted some time dealing with those fifty-pound notes.

"Thank you for your visit." The salesperson finally said.

As they left, Harry still looked at Vivi with some admiration.

"You're amazing... If we had been together last time buying a computer, I might have saved a few hundred pounds..."

After speaking, Harry noticed Hermione, who looked deep in thought, and asked with concern, "Hermione, what's wrong?"

"I..." Hermione hesitated and glanced at Vivi.

"It's okay, Hermione." Vivi gently reached out to ruffle her messy hair, "Feel free to ask if you have any questions."

Hermione nodded, "Well... Sister Vivi, are you a descendant of Gellert Grindelwald?"

So that's the question...

Vivi smiled and said to Hermione, "How could I be? I am not his descendant."

"I see..." Hermione finally showed a smile.

It really scared the little witch, she thought the gentle and kind big sister in front of her was the descendant of that Dark Wizard.

But she couldn't have guessed, this big sister wasn't the Dark Wizard's descendant, she was actually his elder.

His real sister, born of the same parents.

"Alright, where should we go now?" Mr. Granger asked timely.

"Let's go buy some books, about politics and history." Hermione said to Mr. Granger, "Sister Vivi is very interested in learning about these two fields."

Saying this, she lowered her voice and said, "Especially about Muggle politics and history."

"Ah." Mr. Granger said, "Then I recommend you start with introductory ones, like Stavrianos's 'A Global History', I think it's a very fitting study of history..."

"Hmm... I think, while it's certainly worthwhile to read others' summaries and writings on history, solely relying on one view may inevitably present certain biases... Are there any more direct sources? Like data that could support those views?" Vivi reached out again to ruffle Hermione's hair, "From publications since 1890, or any data-based works that reflect real historical events..."
