Chapter 378 - Chapter 170: Harry, You're a Little Too Extreme

After absorbing some Magic Energy at the Dursley household, Vivi left and returned to school to continue classes.

Harry didn't quite understand what was so alluring about the Muggle World knowledge. He wasn't keen on finding out just yet; the urgent matter was to quickly find Cassandra.

During his free time, he didn't forget to make trips to Godric's Hollow to practice magic.

Magic certainly couldn't be practiced at the Dursley household, as the Ministry of Magic's tracking could monitor the area of the Dursley household.

Just think, if Ministry officials noticed magic fluctuations within the Dursley household's area...

Let me see, who in the Dursley family knows magic? Oh! It's me! Harry Potter!

He definitely didn't want to bring unnecessary trouble upon himself.

Recently, he'd visited two Merlin Ruins — the Sweet Mallow he had left could only sustain him for two trials.

Unfortunately, there was no sign of Cassandra there.

Soon after, he welcomed his birthday.

July 31st was his birthday, and Neville's too. Harry received many greeting cards: from Dumbledore, from Snape, from Wood, from Neville and Seamus, even from Cedric.

There was even a card from Professor Scamander, inside which was a small card from Pabi, who complained about why she wasn't included in the birthday celebration.

Harry cherished those cards and stored them carefully, then he opened the letter sent by Ron's family's old owl, whose wings had seen better days.

Once the envelope was opened, two sheets of paper fell out — one was a letter, the other a newspaper clipping.

This clipping was clearly cut from the Magic World newspaper "Prophet Daily" because the people in the black and white photo were moving.

Harry picked up the clipping, smoothed it out, and read the following:

"Ministry of Magic staff wins big prize!

Arthur Weasley, Director of the Ministry of Magic's Department of Prohibition of Misuse of Muggle Items, has won the Prophet Daily's annual Golden Galleons award.

An elated Mr. Weasley told Prophet Daily reporters, "We plan to spend this money on a summer trip to Egypt. Our eldest son, Bill, is in Egypt doing spell-breaking work for Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

The Weasley family will stay in Egypt for a month, returning before Hogwarts School starts. The Weasley family currently has five children enrolled there."

Harry looked at the moving photo. He saw the Weasley family of nine standing in front of the pyramid, all waving vigorously at him, a smile couldn't help but creep onto his face.

Mrs. Weasley was short and plump, while bald-headed Mr. Weasley was quite tall. Their six sons and daughter all had fiery red hair — though the black and white photo couldn't show that.

Ron stood right in the middle of the photo, at the center spot.

During adolescence, he was tall and skinny, his arm around his sister Ginny, with the pet rat Banban on his shoulder, its front paws lifted to its chest, like a little squirrel.

Harry could even clearly see that the rat was missing part of a finger.

Magic World's photos are really clear... Harry was still marveling at them.

He couldn't think of anyone more deserving of such a windfall than the Weasley family — they were lovely people, but unfortunately quite poor.

He picked up Ron's letter and opened it to read:

"Dear Harry:

Happy Birthday!

I have to share some good news with you, did you know? Gringotts suddenly sent someone to say my grandfather… oh, great-grandfather Gareth left a fortune for us at Gringotts!

Goodness, our whole family is overjoyed; we never expected our ancestors to leave us any money, but look, Gareth delivered.

I don't know why he requested Gringotts only give us three hundred Golden Galleons per year, but I know we're rich!

Additionally, Egypt is fantastic.

Bill took us to all the pyramids, you'd never believe how many spells Ancient Egyptian wizards have cast on these pyramids.

Mom wouldn't let Bill explore the last pyramid, there were many strange skeletons in there, left behind by Muggles who forced their way in; they grew extra heads and other things.

I feel like I'm still dreaming, like I said on the train, I still can't believe Dad actually won the Prophet Daily's raffle! Seven hundred Galleons! Plus the Galleons from Gringotts, it's a total of a thousand Galleons…

Most of the money was spent on this trip, but they're buying me a new set of clothes, and Ginny... Ginny won't need second-hand old textbooks anymore; we can all get new textbooks and clothes, it's like New Year's… no, wait, even at New Year's we weren't this happy.

We'll probably return a week before school starts, we still have to go to London to buy our new books, will we meet you in London? Try to come to London.

Happy Birthday again, oh, by the way, Percy was elected Head Boy, goodness, Dad and Mom practically want to hold him in their palm. I hope I can also be Class Prefect and Head Boy in the future… oh no buddy, I absolutely don't mean to compete with you...

Yours,

Ron Weasley

Harry put down the letter, feeling a bit amused.

Compete with Ron for Class Prefect and Head Boy?
