Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: System Rewards and Evolution

The victory had been decisive, but the rage in Flash Thompson's eyes was unquenched. He was humiliated, defeated, and physically immobilized, but his pride remained intact—or so he thought.

Su Yi stood over the defeated bully, his calm demeanor a direct affront to Flash's inner turmoil.

"Still not convinced?" Su Yi's voice cut through Flash's ragged breathing. "The mind is the last place a bully surrenders. It seems I need to adjust your comprehension of reality."

Before Flash could manage a strained retort, Su Yi moved. It wasn't a powerful strike; it was a movement of terrifying, surgical precision.

Su Yi dropped, his fingers hooking Flash's arm near the elbow. He applied a quick, focused twist—a technique derived from the depths of the Batman Template's vast knowledge of joint manipulation.

A sickening snap echoed across the silent lawn.

"AAAAAGH!"

Flash's scream was primal, a sound of absolute agony that pierced the stunned silence of the crowd. His arm hung uselessly, the shoulder visibly deformed. He didn't need a doctor to tell him: his arm was dislocated.

The crowd collectively gasped, a wave of profound shock washing over them. The air of playful spectacle was instantly replaced by cold dread.

"He actually did it!"

"My God, he's absolutely ruthless."

"The Asian kid is a psychopath! That's a career-ending injury for a jock!"

"He's not to be messed with. Never, ever cross Su Yi again."

"He's a devil—a handsome devil, but a devil nonetheless."

The whispers turned into fear. Su Yi was no longer just a fighter; he was an unpredictable, dangerous force.

Flash writhed on the grass, his mind finally prioritizing survival over pride. "You… you monster! My arm! I need a hospital! What did you do?"

"What did I do?" Su Yi repeated, his voice dangerously even. "I provided a tangible consequence for your disgusting behavior. Now, let's return to the matter of respect. I believe you owe me—and everyone you've ever demeaned—an apology. I need to hear it. Now."

Flash, defeated and terrified, managed to choke out, his voice thin and pathetic, "I... I lost. I'm sorry."

"I can't hear you," Su Yi stated, leaning closer. "When you were throwing insults, your voice was loud enough to carry across the field. I require the same volume for your atonement."

Defeated, and with his arm screaming in agony, Flash roared the words with every bit of power he could muster: "I'M SORRY!"

"Apology accepted," Su Yi said, a profound sense of satisfaction washing over him. The public, forced apology was the moral victory he craved.

Then, Su Yi did the truly unthinkable. He grabbed Flash's damaged arm, not with aggression, but with clinical purpose. Using the refined anatomical knowledge gifted by the Batman Template, Su Yi braced the shoulder and delivered a precise, focused force vector.

CLICK!

The loud, sickening sound of the joint snapping back into place was audible to the nearest students. Flash, anticipating more pain, stiffened—but then a wave of shocked relief washed over him. The acute agony instantly vanished, replaced by a dull ache. His arm was back in its socket.

Flash stared at his recovered limb, moving his fingers tentatively. He looked up at Su Yi with a mixture of terror, confusion, and utter awe.

The entire crowd was dumbfounded. The low murmur of shock escalated to sheer disbelief.

"What did I just witness?" a student stammered.

"He broke it... and then he fixed it?"

"That's not normal first aid! That was like reassembling a toy!"

"Eastern Kung Fu! It must be some secret restorative technique!"

"Forget the fight! That man is a miracle worker! And he's a total badass!"

Su Yi took a step back, the performer concluding his grand finale. He directed his closing remarks only to Flash.

"The dislocation was your punishment. The re-setting was my benevolence. Your arm is sound, though I recommend rest and a doctor's check for reassurance." Su Yi's eyes narrowed in final warning.

"But understand this: Do not harass me, and do not use your strength to bully others. If you do, the next lesson won't just involve dislocating an arm. Kung Fu can be very precise. It can cause permanent damage you won't even realize is done until your entire life falls apart. Is that understood, Flash?"

Flash, truly terrified by the implied, hidden threat and the sudden, magical healing, could only nod frantically. "I understand. I swear I won't bother anyone again."

"Good. Dismissed."

As the stunned students began to disperse, Su Yi felt the sweet, familiar jolt of the Destiny Evolution System.

[Ding! You have defeated Flash Thompson and enforced a social change!]

[Flash Thompson's fate has been changed: +500 Fate Points!]

[Peter Parker's fate has been changed (Intervention, Protection from Bullying): +1,000 Fate Points!]

[First Change of Fate Bonus: ALL Fate Points DOUBLED! Total Gain: 3,000 Fate Points!]

[Congratulations! You gain an additional $100,000 cash reward and one Lottery Spin!]

Su Yi suppressed a manic grin. Three thousand FP! And a hundred grand? Excellent! I'm officially open for business.

His mind immediately went to the next power-up.

Current attributes: All Level 3. Upgrade to Level 4 costs exactly 1,000 FP per attribute.

He didn't hesitate. System, consume 3,000 FP. Upgrade Strength, Speed, and Endurance to Level 4!

A silent, intense burn ignited within him. The transformation was instantaneous, more profound than the initial Level 3 upgrade.

[Strength UP to Level 4! New Capacity: 100 Tons of Force!]

[Speed UP to Level 4! New Max Speed: Mach 1 (340 m/s)!]

[Endurance UP to Level 4! Enhanced Durability and Regenerative Capability Unlocked!]

One hundred tons of force... I can casually stop a train now. Mach 1 speed... I can disappear from New York and reappear in Boston in minutes. And healing? I'm already approaching low-level superhuman durability.

He had enough remaining power to shift the earth's axis, but he had to keep moving. He still had the Lottery Spin.

System, use the Lottery Spin!

[Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have drawn a Special Item: One-Time-Use Target Locator!]

A Target Locator? Perfect! This item, combined with his Instant Teleportation ability, was a game-changer. It meant he no longer needed to wait for the plot. He could pinpoint any major character—Tony Stark, Captain America, or even the hidden location of the Infinity Stones—and immediately teleport there.

Tony is the priority. Finding him now means securing the Iron Man armor's tech before Phase One even fully starts. That's a massive, fate-shattering change.

The sudden influx of teachers, drawn by the commotion and Flash's earlier scream, sent the remaining students scattering. Su Yi calmly walked toward the school entrance, searching for the one person whose opinion truly mattered.

He spotted Gwen Stacy near the lockers, looking slightly pale but focused. He jogged up to her, his new Mach 1 speed thankfully suppressed.

"Hey, Gwen! I honored our wager," Su Yi said, his voice light and charming. "The gorilla has been effectively neutralized and politely reassembled. So, do you have time for that coffee after school?"

Gwen's expression was complex: a mix of lingering shock, deep admiration, and a certain playful curiosity. Su Yi's display of power, followed by the miraculous healing, had utterly captivated her rational mind.

"You really did it," she murmured, a genuine smile forming. "You're either the world's greatest martial artist or a magician. That was... frankly, terrifyingly impressive." She adjusted the strap of her backpack. "And yes, Mr. Su Yi. You certainly earned that coffee. Of course, I'll go."

As they began walking toward the exit, they were intercepted by a young woman with a sharp, eager expression.

"Hi, Gwen!"

"Betty!" Gwen replied warmly.

The newcomer, Betty Brant, immediately fixed her gaze on Su Yi, her eyes wide with undisguised excitement. She was already radiating the energy of a future journalist looking for a scoop.

"Hi, Su! I'm Betty Brant, Gwen's friend. I have to say, that whole spectacle? You are absolutely better than any action movie star I've ever seen. You were amazing! I mean, you broke him, then you fixed him!"

"Thank you for the compliment, Betty. And you are quite pretty and energetic yourself. It's nice to meet you," Su Yi responded smoothly, utilizing his enhanced Intelligence to deliver perfect social calibration.

"Oh! Really?" Betty blushed, genuinely flattered. "Listen, I heard you two were going for coffee. Can I maybe tag along? I have so many questions about your 'Kung Fu'!"

Su Yi didn't miss a beat. He didn't want the date diluted, but rejecting a character who worked for the Daily Bugle later on was unwise. Furthermore, a shared date with two attractive women only solidified his new social standing.

"It would be my pleasure, Betty," Su Yi said, turning to Gwen with an appealing deference. "I'd be honored to host two beautiful and intelligent ladies simultaneously. Gwen, you don't mind a plus-one, do you?"

Gwen simply laughed, shaking her head. "Betty and I are practically attached. What's one more friend? I actually have some questions about that 'Kung Fu' myself, Su. I'm fascinated."

As they walked out into the afternoon sun, the two stunning young women flanked Su Yi. He was instantly the center of attention, the whispers and admiring glances of the remaining students solidifying his new, formidable status.

The first step of the plan was a resounding success. He had gained power, wealth, and the undivided attention of the woman whose fate he was determined to break.
