Chapter 6 - Blood God

Chapter 5

As Dax observed the battle, a figure wreathed in crimson light materialized beside Vabon.

Sweat-drenched and terrified, Vabon jolted. "Ah—!" His eyes widened, almost bulging from his skull. "My god!" He bowed his head, banging his forehead against the ground, his voice ragged as if from decades of suffering. "Why is my god here?"

"Be joyful, my servant…" the Blood God said, his eyes boundless, observing realities unseen. "I will grant you power, my child. Power that surpasses your imagination."

"The Blood God is merciful," Vabon honored him, his mind reeling. This is beyond my imagination. For my lord to interfere personally… He glanced at Dax, and instant fear washed over him. "I accept."

"Good." A demonic smile twisted the god's features.

A thorny seed, glistening with fresh blood, manifested in his hand.

"Raise your head."

Vabon obeyed. The god placed the seed upon his head, and it sank gently from his crown to his feet. Vabon's body rippled like water.

"Be baptized in death."

As the words were spoken, a sharp, searing pain erupted in Vabon's chest. His eyes shot open in disbelief.

"Lord, something is wrong with me," Vabon coughed out.

He looked up at his god and saw only that demonic smile.

Solos.

Flap. Flap.

An angel manifested, draped entirely in blood. His robes, the veil that covered his face, and his vast wings were all soaked in crimson. Each beat of his wings drenched the ground in a scarlet rain. His very aura, his figure, all screamed absolute dominance. He landed gently, kneeling on one knee.

"Valiant Father." The angel praised.

"You know what to do, Solos."

"I see this is my end." Vabon lay trembling, arms outstretched._

_"I give praise to the Blood God." His voice quivered, yet there was peace in it._

_"To die by my king's hand… I am blessed."_

---

"And why do you think I can't see you?" Dax pointed directly at the Blood God.

"Blood God." Dax smiled.

A flicker of perplexity crossed the god's face, but his calm was unshaken. He ignored Dax, turning his gaze back to Solos. "I want his head." He pointed at Dax, then faded from reality but before he faded he looked at Dax one last time. I want those eyes. Greed clouded his heart.

"This world is very interesting." Dax smiled, nearly bursting into laughter. "This world… hi." He was crazed, finally seeing the world for its true, brutal beauty.

"Dax," he whispered, addressing his departed predecessor, "you saw this world as a curse. But to me… I see it as a playing ground. I will enjoy this world in your stead." He spoke with pure, unadulterated thrill.

As this went on, the angel, Solos, guided Vabon's spilled blood, reversing its flow back into the twitching body.

Thud!

A deafening heartbeat echoed, overshadowing all other sound in the forest. A powerful aura burst from Vabon's body. He jolted, then began thrashing violently. His flesh sloughed off, his hair fell out, and in a blink, he was completely flayed. The most terrifying part was the silence—not a single scream escaped him.

It was a scene from a nightmare.

Then, a beautiful white robe and veil materialized, covering his raw form. He hugged his chest, arching his back as it trembled violently, something straining to break free from within.

His skin tore, revealing two bloody, nascent wings. A strange, bloody aura unfurled from him, covering the Plains of Vabos.

"Blood World," the angel whispered, activating the skill.

Dax felt the change immediately. "What is this strange skill?" He strained his new vision, but for the first time, he found his sight blocked. He could not perceive the inner workings of the angel's body.

What seems to be the problem? He turned his gaze to the blood cult priest, Kakarai. There, his vision worked as expected—he could see the mana flow, the blood circulation, and a strange flame burning in the priest's chest.

But one thing surprised Dax more: through all the commotion, the priest had not fled. Instead, he was looking directly at Dax with a gaze of pure, unsettling piety.

Seeing Dax's attention, the priest knelt.

Oh? Dax was taken aback.

"Condemned thing." The angel, Solos, appeared behind Kakarai, a blood-soaked blade manifesting in his palm. "Die for me."

He stabbed downward, but his blade met only empty earth, carving a fifty-meter crater into the ground. Kakarai was gone.

"You came for me, so why kill your own person?" Dax asked curiously, now holding Kakarai securely in his grasp.

Such control. The angel turned, his gaze locking onto Dax.

Ignoring the angel Dax turned his gaze to Vos. "Madman, your insanity intrigues me, but it is not enough. I advise you to turn yourself in to the House of Fall. There, you will see me."

Dax threw Kakarai south towards the Kingdom of Valen—his predecessor's home.

"Vos!" the priest screamed, his voice echoing with mad laughter as he vanished into the distance.

Dax smiled. "Ohhh, the gift I have in store for you." He looked to his side, coughed once, and straightened his posture.

His demeanour shifted instantly. Dax stared coldly at the angel, thick killing intent bursting forth from his body showing itself in a tangible form.

"Come to me, Cil."

Space cracked. The sky screamed. The air grew turbulent.

"My baby, I've missed you." A crimson blade dropped from the spatial crack, its presence heralded by the thick scent of blood. It glowed with a thirsty radiance, humming as if alive. Gently, she landed in Dax's palm.

"Let's go, partner."

"Raise your head."

Vabon did as he was told. Then the god placed the seed atop his head. Gently it sank from head to toe his body rippled like water.

Be baptized in death.

As he said this word. Vabons felt a sharp pain in his chest his eyes widened in disbelief.

"Lord, something is wrong with me." Vabon coughed.

He looked up to his god only to see a demonic smile.

Solos.

Flap, flap.

An angel draped in blood manifested this robe to the veil that coved his dead was covered in blood, his wings none the less.

Each flap soaked the ground with blood, this was power it's aura it's figure all screamed dominance. Gently it landed kneeling on one knee.

"Valient father."

You know what to do Solos.

---

"And why do you think I can't see you." Dax pointed at the god.

"Blood god." Dax smiled

A look of perplexity appeared on the blood gods face but he was as calm as ever.

Instead he ignored turning his gaze back to Solos. "I want his skull." He pointed back at Dax then faded out of reality.

"This world is very interesting. Dax smiled almost bursting out in laughter.

"This world, hi." He was crazed. He was see this world for it's true beauty.

"Dax you saw this world as a curse but to me it's I see this as a playing ground. I will enjoy this world in your stead." Dax spoke to his predecessor in pure thrill.

As this went on the angel flowed through Vabin's blood reversing the blood on the floor back to his body.

Thud!

A loud heart beat echoed overshadowing the cries of the birds in this forest. Slowly Avery powerful aura burst fort from his body, suddenly his body jolted and he began trashing around.

His flesh began to drop to the floor his hair fell off, in a blink he had been skinned and the terrifying part was that there was no scream.

It was just like a scene from a horror movie. The it covered his face smiling beneath just like that he began to burn.

Just to be covered by a beautiful white robe and veil. Gently he hugged his chest arching his back, his back trembled like something was about to come out of back.

Behold it began to tear revealing two bloody wings. Slowly a strange bloody aura covered the plains of vabos.

"Blood paradise." The angel whispered. As he activated this skill.

Dax felt the change. "What is this strange skill?" Dax strained his eyes but this time it was different. He couldn't see what was going on in the angel's body.

Then he grew confused. What seems to be the problem. He turned to the blood cults priest and it was was just as expected he could see it.

The mana flow blood flow and a strange flame that burned in his chest. But one thing surprised Dax more through all the commotion.

The priest didn't escape instead he looked at Dax with a pious look.

Seeing Dax looking at him he knelt.

Ohh?

Dax was taken aback.

Condemned thing. The angel appeared behind kakarai a blood soaked blade manifesting in his palm.

"Die for me." He stabbed but there was no reaction only his blade creating a 50 metre crater.

"You came for me so why kill your person." Dax asked curiously holding kakarai in his hand.

Such control. the angel turned locking eyes with Dax.
