Chapter 12 - Chapter 11: Dragon Scale

Ye Yu's figure appeared very lonely as he arrived at the foot of a small hill outside the village.

Rumble...

The sky was filled with dark clouds, with violent, bright blue lightning raging, and soon, a torrential downpour began.

The rain drenched Ye Yu completely; it was uncertain if it was rain or tears on his face.

Ye Yu longed to know his background, his parents. But after learning part of it today, he found out that his mother was no longer alive.

To keep him alive, she pressed on without a heart, just so she could give birth to him. This love is too great.

"What happened? Who did it..."

Ye Yu's fists clenched tighter and tighter, as rage and hatred surged in his heart.

Upon learning something about his background, but also knowing his mother was gone, Ye Yu's heart was heavy with pain.

At the same time, the hatred grew stronger. Who did all this? Who was so ruthless? Who severely injured his mother, and even left her dead for a period of time?

It was because she died that they deceived heaven and earth, leading to him becoming a stillborn before he was even born.

Then, his mother used powerful healing to come back from the dead, gritting her teeth to continue living, just to give birth to him, letting him live.

Rage surged in Ye Yu's heart, his whole body trembling, his hatred reaching the sky.

"Ah!!!!"

Ye Yu roared loudly, learning of his mother's death, leaving him heartbroken and angry. Meanwhile, a certain power inside his body seemed to resonate with Ye Yu.

Knowing this news, it seemed that not only was Ye Yu furious, but also that force deep within his body.

Gradually, as he roared, Ye Yu's eyes were completely replaced by pure blackness, his consciousness gradually muddled.

With a roar full of boundless hatred, black energy surged on Ye Yu's left arm.

Black energy wrapped around his left arm, it began to swell. The black energy was so thick and pure that it was impossible to see what his left arm had become.

The black energy spread, clouds and wind stirred in the sky, and this malevolent energy appeared, seemingly causing heaven and earth to tremble.

Meanwhile, at the Holy Soul Village's blacksmith shop.

Tang Hao, preparing to rest, felt his heart skip a beat as he glanced out the window toward the outskirts of the village.

"Dad, what's wrong?" asked Tang San, noticing Tang Hao's serious expression with surprise.

"Nothing, stay at home and don't go out."

Tang Hao's warning carried an unyielding tone, unusually solemn.

Tang San nodded.

Tang Hao left the house, and after confirming no one was around, he transformed into a shadow, swiftly rushing toward the small hill outside the village.

Tang San sensed something happening, feeling inexplicably oppressed—not by the storm, but by an unknown force. Yet, no energy could be detected.

Tang San couldn't sense it, but Tang Hao could.

The reason Tang San couldn't sense anything was due to his weak strength, like a lower dimension unable to perceive a higher one.

Approaching quickly, Tang Hao's heart shivered: "Such terrifyingly pure evil energy, what on earth is this?"

Within just a moment, Tang Hao arrived, but was shocked, finding it hard to believe what he saw.

"Xiao Yu?"

Tang Hao intended to approach but realized Ye Yu seemed to be losing his mind; noticing Ye Yu's left arm enveloped in intense evil energy, his brow furrowed: "What's going on, Xiao Yu's arm is wrapped in extreme evil energy."

Boom!!!

The next second, under Tang Hao's horrified gaze, the irrational Ye Yu turned violent, initiating destruction, his left hand wrapped in black energy smashed onto the hundred-meter-tall hill.

A deafening explosion followed by a rumble, and the entire hill instantly shattered and collapsed, turning into ruins!

"This..." Witnessing this, Tang Hao was deeply shocked.

With one strike, a hill a hundred meters tall was destroyed. Although a Soul Sect level could achieve this at full strength, Xiao Yu was only six years old, not even a Soul Master yet, just a Level 10 Soul Warrior.

"Xiao Yu, what's happening to you?"

Tang Hao swiftly approached Ye Yu, his expression changing as he noticed Ye Yu's eyes—completely black, the whites overwhelmed by darkness.

Whoosh!!!

With no response, the left arm wrapped in black energy violently swung.

Tang Hao quickly retreated, his eyebrows slightly furrowed.

Tang Hao raised his right hand, and a giant weapon appeared in his palm, while nine Soul Rings surged around him.

Yellow, Yellow, Purple, Purple, Black, Black, Black, Black, Red!

The best Soul Ring configuration, and the last ring wasn't merely black as it faintly emitted a red glow!

This was, a nearly one hundred thousand year Soul Ring!

"Seems like I can only knock you out, Xiao Yu. You should be able to take it."

The nine Soul Rings disappeared around Tang Hao, but the giant weapon in his hand remained, and he casually swung it.

With just a casual swing, an eerie wail echoed, the space in its path trembling.

The irrational Ye Yu's left arm struck again, clashing with the giant weapon.

Boom!!

The explosive sound covered the thunder in the sky.

Whoosh!

Ye Yu flew backward, landing heavily into the ruins, silent.

Tang Hao retracted the giant weapon and dashed toward the ruins, soon pulling Ye Yu out.

Ye Yu was unconscious, and the intense evil black energy on his left arm gradually dissipated.

As the black energy faded completely, Tang Hao's pupils contracted upon seeing Ye Yu's left arm.

On the left arm, pieces of black scales disappeared, and in a blink of an eye, the left arm returned to its original state.

Tang Hao's heart was shaken: "Was that... Dragon Scale?"

Tang Hao cast a deep glance at Ye Yu, sighing lightly: "Seems like this boy is indeed extraordinary, his body so resilient, probably due to that energy."

Tang Hao carefully probed Ye Yu's body again, but couldn't sense any energy, as if the previous evil energy had completely vanished.

"Completely undetectable, perhaps it's for the best." To Tang Hao, this uncontrollable energy was better left unnoticed. Before it could be controlled, it was best not to erupt again.

Though he didn't know what caused the outburst, Tang Hao thought that since even his Titled Douluo strength failed to sense it, it was deeply hidden, making it difficult to erupt again.

"Maybe triggered by some shocking stimulus." Noticing tear stains on Ye Yu's face, Tang Hao guessed.

Without further thought, Tang Hao prepared to bring Ye Yu home.

At that moment, Old Jack arrived. He had been worried when Ye Yu went out alone in the heavy rain and rushed over after hearing a commotion.

Once there, Old Jack was astonished to see what was a hill turned into ruins.

Tang Hao, carrying Ye Yu, approached as Old Jack saw Ye Yu unconscious, looking worried.

"Tang Hao, what happened to Xiao Yu?"

"Nothing, he just fell asleep."

Old Jack exhaled in relief, gazing at the ruins ahead, asking in shock: "What happened here?"

Tang Hao naturally chose to conceal and shook his head: "This was how it was when I arrived. Let's not dwell on it, take Xiao Yu home."

"Alright, alright." Old Jack nodded, gently carried Ye Yu back home.

At home, he placed Ye Yu gently on the bed. Initially worried, wondering if a doctor was needed, but soon hearing Ye Yu's snores, Old Jack's worries disappeared completely.

"Sleeping soundly, looks like he's fine."

...

Walking back home, scenes kept replaying in Tang Hao's mind.

"Evil dark energy, black dragon scales... what on earth?"
