Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Second Transformation

When Li Boyang opened his eyes again, it was already near dusk.

The first thing that came into his sight was Chen Yun squatting in front of him with a worried look.

"Son, you're awake?"

Seeing the drowsy Li Boyang, Chen Yun reached out to touch his head, her face's worry smoothly turning into a smile.

"?"

Seeing through Chen Yun's forced smile, Li Boyang couldn't help but blink in confusion.

[Wait... something seems off...]

With this thought flashing through his mind, Li Boyang quickly realized what was wrong.

Even though it was already dusk and the room had darkened, he could clearly see the expression on Chen Yun's face.

[Where is this firelight coming from?]

Li Boyang instinctively raised his head, and the firelight illuminating the room flickered.

Seeing this, Li Boyang immediately reacted—his hair seemed to have caught fire again?

In Li Boyang's perception, a force different from Life Essence Qi was continuously flooding into his body.

This force was so violent and frenzied.

It made Li Boyang's hair burn with even stronger flames than before.

Not only that, Li Boyang could clearly feel the erosion and destruction this force was inflicting on his body.

His body was continuously emitting high temperatures, and even his forehead had become scorching hot...

[Am I getting a fever?]

Looking at Chen Yun across from him, Li Boyang seemed to understand the source of her worry.

Gently closing his eyes, Li Boyang attempted to run the Circulation again, channeling the Earth Evil Qi through the Ren and Du Meridians into his Dantian.

Swoosh!

After being mixed with Li Boyang's Life Essence Qi, the Earth Evil Qi seemed to become less violent.

Especially when this Earth Evil Qi entered the Dantian.

The Sword Pill in the Dantian immediately absorbed it, converting it into part of its own power.

But the problem was that this approach was only a drop in the bucket.

The Earth's Evil Qi from the outside continued to flood into Li Boyang's body.

Even if he were to refine these Evil Qi continuously for twenty-four hours, he still wouldn't be able to fully digest and absorb the Earth Evil Qi mixed with Life Essence Qi.

[Is just a single Sword Pill not enough?]

Seeing this situation, Li Boyang decided to divert these Evil Qi.

Under Li Boyang's control, part of the Evil Qi entering his body flowed into the lower Dantian, while another part surged into the sea of consciousness between his brows.

Swoosh!

Just like the Sword Pill in the Dantian.

The Evil Qi surging into the sea of consciousness was quickly absorbed by the Celestial Eye.

The Celestial Eye, which had stopped developing after birth, now seemed to have a tendency for secondary development.

If someone could illuminate Li Boyang's meridians now, they would find the Primordial Qi in his body roaring and surging like an ocean.

Swoosh!

Using the Ren and Du Meridians as a center, with the limbs and bones as branches.

Every time the Primordial Qi passed through the area between his brows and lower abdomen, its quantity would sharply decrease.

Even so, the remaining Primordial Qi, mixed with Evil Qi, still exceeded what a baby's body could handle, causing his body to continuously burn and become hot.

Forced by circumstances, Li Boyang had to find a third outlet for this Primordial Qi—the Celestial Spirit.

Swoosh!

Before a baby is a year old, the brain is still developing, and the Celestial Spirit at the top hasn't fully closed.

Therefore, when the Primordial Qi is expelled through the gap in the Celestial Spirit, Li Boyang's body temperature naturally cooled down.

However, as the cost of forcibly expelling this Evil Qi, the hair on Li Boyang's head emitted a more dazzling firelight.

The nearly tangible firelight became no longer warm but instead genuinely scorching.

...........................

At night, in the Li Family Courtyard.

When Li Yu returned home with the day's catch, what he saw was the worried Chen Yun.

"Yun, what's wrong?"

After hanging the catch on the bamboo pole beside him, Li Yu approached Chen Yun and asked.

"It's our son, our son..."

Leaning gently against Li Yu, Chen Yun couldn't help but sigh.

"I went to town today to get a Peace Talisman for our son..."

"But as soon as I got back, I saw his hair was on fire, and his body was scorching hot with a high fever."

"I gave him some fever-reducing medicine, and the fever subsided, but the fire in his hair burned even more vigorously."

Hearing this, Li Yu immediately looked towards their bedroom and indeed saw hints of flames burning inside.

"Do you think the Mountain God has really taken a liking to our son?"

"Should I visit the nearby Mountain God Temple and ask them not to bother our son anymore?"

Gently stroking Chen Yun's hair, Li Yu asked in a deep voice.

"Besides you, who else noticed anything unusual about our son?"

Unlike the emotional Chen Yun, Li Yu was more concerned with whether anyone else had noticed anything peculiar about their child.

"When I went to town today, I had the Big Girl next door look after him for a bit."

Upon hearing Li Yu's question, Chen Yun also realized, responding somewhat worriedly.

"Big Girl?"

After pondering for a moment, Li Yu immediately understood who Chen Yun was referring to.

"The daughter of that unfaithful man?"

In the small Li Family Village with just a dozen or so households, only the unfaithful man was an outsider who married into a different family.

To support the unfaithful man's studies, his wife worked from dawn to dusk, single-handedly maintaining the family's livelihood on a small piece of land.

Unfortunately, since the unfaithful man left to make a name for himself, he never returned.

Only his wife and a naive daughter were left, persisting until now.

Whenever Li Yu left or entered the village, he could always see the usually tough widow washing her face with tears by the window.

To be honest, if it weren't for the help from fellow villagers, that pair of orphan and widow wouldn't have survived until today.

"Tomorrow, bring two pounds of meat over to visit next door."

"Though my cousin may seem tough, it's only a necessity for survival."

"Talk to her, and tell her not to spread rumors outside; it shouldn't be a big issue."

Li Yu wasn't worried about their son's situation being known in the village.

Or rather, even if the villagers weren't sure what was going on with Li Boyang, they more or less had some guesses.

After all, the village is small, with everyone related in various ways, and it's unrealistic to keep it a secret indefinitely.

Li Yu's concern was that if news about their son's situation spread outside, it could attract unnecessary trouble.

"Okay, I understand."

Just as Chen Yun agreed, Li Yu seemed to remember something and continued to add.

"By the way, when you're talking to my cousin, mention that we could have Big Girl come over to help care for our son."

"We could cover at least one meal for Big Girl each day, which would lighten her burden as well."
