Chapter 19 - Chapter 18: New Weapon—Three-Ton Horse-cutting Saber!

Vice Principal Chen quickly waved his hand:

"This is such good stuff, I'm not about to fight you for it. Didn't you say earlier you'd buy it for 50% above market rate?

If I fought you for it now, that'd just make me look bad.

Besides, what's a vice principal like me gonna do with this kind of thing!"

Great Xia Chamber of Commerce's branch president scowled: "If you don't want it, quit running your mouth!"

Su Mo watched these old guys turning his goods over and over, inspecting every angle, and couldn't help but ask:

"So, how much do you all think these things are worth?"

Celestial City's City Lord: "Honestly, they're not bad at all. Are you sure you want to buy them?

Especially this weapon add-on that gives +50 Spirit Attribute.

You can slap it on any weapon and it'll work, no matter what."

Celestial Wave City's City Lord refused to give face, firing back:

"Are you blind? Can't you see Su's lugging around that giant Guan Saber? He's obviously not a Spiritual class.

Saying that's just straight up talking out your ass!

Hey, Su, I forgot to ask—what class or talent did you awaken to?"

Su Mo thought for a sec and answered, "I awakened Extreme Defense. I can ignore all damage for a short time."

"Oh, so it's Extreme Defense, what—the hell! You awakened Defense Ability?!"

Su Mo, confused: "Is there a problem?"

"Big problem, obviously! If you awakened Defense Ability, shouldn't you be rocking a shield?

And how the hell did you solo that dungeon with a defense talent!"

Su Mo had already considered these questions before, so he didn't hesitate and replied:

"My power lets me ignore all damage for a short time,

so I don't even need defense. I just have to keep up the DPS."

Trial Hall's Elder nodded consolingly: "Makes perfect sense!"

"Sense my ass! You're a Gold-tier powerhouse and an elder at the Trial Hall! Got any common sense at all?

Skills like that always have time limits, okay!

Plus, Defense Awakened's attack is never that strong. Do you even know what you're talking about?"

"All the rewards are Spirit gear, so the dungeon monsters must be Spiritual types.

Spiritual monsters aren't that tough. Su can ignore the damage, swing the saber like crazy, and it's over.

Still, you might have a point, so Su, just how long can you ignore damage…"

Vice Principal Chen stormed up to Trial Hall's Elder with a dark face and snapped:

"What the hell are you doing? You can't just go prying into that kind of info!"

"Hahaha, my bad! I was out of line!"

Seeing another argument about to start, Celestial City's City Lord stepped in again:

"Alright, enough, cut it out. Like Su said—

once the dungeon gets regraded you can go in.

Just send someone in to try it and you'll know for sure.

Don't waste any more time, somebody get those prices sorted and we'll wait for the results."

The Chamber merchant whipped out a gold abacus, clicked away, and looked at Su Mo:

"With the 50% bump, your stuff totals 7.8 million. Tell you what—I'll round it up. 8 million, fair enough?

Here's two cards—one with 3 million, the other with 5. Password is six zeros, just swipe and go."

Su Mo grinned from ear to ear as he accepted the cards—man, making dough outside is fast.

All he did was clear a dungeon and netted 600 free attribute points plus a cool 8 mil.

At this rate it's not even making money, it's straight-up scooping cash with a sack!

After taking the cards, Su Mo stared eagerly at Celestial City's City Lord.

Celestial City's City Lord chuckled awkwardly: "That busted weapon of yours isn't even worth fixing anymore.

Since this slick merchant's feeling generous, how about this—you like heavy weapons right?

I picked up a blank Horse-cutting Saber, level 60, after a dungeon run. No powers, just heavy!"

Su Mo perked up instantly: "How heavy we talkin'?"

"Three tons!"

At that, Su Mo's eyes lit up—three tons, that's a whopping 6,000 pounds.

Now that he's at 594 Strength, he should be able to swing over 10,000 pounds.

Even if he's a bit short now, he can just dump the remaining 36 free attribute points into Strength and he'll hit it!

With that kind of power, a 6,000-pound weapon is just about perfect.

Much heavier and you're just smacking folks with fluff—won't feel good swinging, won't hurt much either.

He'd been figuring he'd double the weight, make it 3,000 pounds, and get some teacher or someone to tweak it further.

Even so, he thought 5,000 pounds would be his max.

Who knew there'd be a surprise waiting here.

And the Horse-cutting Saber is pretty similar to the Guan Saber, maybe even looks more badass.

Su Mo didn't hesitate, he blurted right out: "Deal, I'll take it!"

"Don't rush to accept just yet—yeah, it's a 60-level weapon, you can't equip it yet,

but you don't need to equip it, you can just pick it up and use it!

Anyway, you—wait, what? You already agreed?"

Su Mo nodded: "Yeah, that's what I want!"

Celestial City's City Lord laughed out loud: "Kid's got guts!"

With a wave of his hand, a saber 2.5 meters long, the blade taking up a third of the Horse-cutting Saber, appeared before Su Mo.

Unlike the Guan Saber, the Horse-cutting Saber's blade is wider and longer, without the Guan's curve, more like a big cleaver.

The blade gleamed like a mirror, so bright you could see your own reflection, icy cold air wafting off it.

The handle was etched all over with blood-red lines, carved from some kind of mysterious wood.

No fancy design like the Guan Saber, no extra carvings at all.

But the instant he saw this beast, he loved it from the bottom of his heart.

This is what a man should wield!

Sword? Pfft, hacking folks with this is way more badass!

Seeing Su Mo's expression, Celestial City's City Lord chuckled: "Go ahead, pick it up, it's yours!"

Su Mo didn't hesitate, stepped up; he was gonna lift it one-handed, but thought better and used both.

After all, brandishing a 6,000-pound saber single-handed is kind of nuts—plus, he's only level 6!

He gripped the hilt with both hands; a chill flowed clear up his arms, and he heaved—the Horse-cutting Saber left the ground.

He even spun it into a flourish, slinging it across his back, movement smooth as silk—like a top-tier war god!

Celestial City's City Lord: "Nice! Truly impressive, young friend!"

Vice Principal Chen: "Celestial Academy's gonna bag a champion this year for sure! Hahahaha!"

Celestial Wave City's City Lord: "If you ever get the chance, come visit Celestial Wave City!

Unlike a certain Celestial City Lord, I wouldn't just give you basic gear to pass off on you!"
