Leo didn't wait for the wolves to attack. He moved.
[Agility: 85]
He was a blur. He stepped forward, his Frost-Edge swinging in a wide, beautiful arc.
SLASH.
The blade caught the lead wolf in mid-air. It sheared through the beast's neck effortlessly, the frost magic freezing the blood before it could spray. The wolf's head spun away, hitting the cobblestones with a hollow thud.
The other two wolves lunged.
Leo didn't dodge. He spun, his dagger flashing.
THWACK. THWACK.
He drove the dagger into the eye of the second wolf and the throat of the third.
Three kills in three seconds.
The old man stared up at him, awe replacing the terror in his eyes.
"Run!" Leo commanded, hauling the man to his feet and shoving him toward an alley. "Get to safety! Tell everyone! The Bandit Slayer is here!"
The old man scrambled away.
Leo turned back to the breach. The monsters were pouring in. Goblins with rusted knives. Stalkers with rotting claws.
He grinned. This was it. The stage was his.
