Chapter 26 - The Power System and the Purple-Gold Chest

White-Clad Drunkard straightened his back and said confidently—then, noticing Garp's "likes" section on the info panel, he couldn't help but laugh again.

"Hahaha! Brothers, this Marine hero's got quite the... unique tastes."

That one comment sent the chat spiraling into chaos again.

[LOL, yeah—donuts, naps… and dogs?!]

[Wait a sec, doesn't Aokiji also love sleeping? Maybe it runs in the family—could he be Garp's student?]

[Possibly! But seriously, that dog-head thing broke me.]

['Dog-head'... what even is that?!]

As the comment barrage exploded, White-Clad Drunkard followed Smoker through the streets toward the Loguetown Marine Base.

Outside the base stood a tall woman in a floral shirt and a Marine coat draped casually over her shoulders.

She wore glasses, a sword hung at her waist, and she looked firm yet slightly awkward.

"This is Sergeant Tashigi—your direct superior from now on," said Smoker, cigar between his teeth.

White-Clad Drunkard turned to look at her—slightly dazed, slightly flustered—and then snapped into a crisp salute.

"Reporting in, Sergeant Tashigi! Recruit White-Clad Drunkard, at your service!"

Tashigi, unused to such formality, blinked—then straightened up hurriedly, cheeks faintly pink.

"R-right! Welcome aboard."

Smoker exhaled a puff of smoke. "Tashigi, this year's recruits lack conviction. Drill this one hard."

"Yes, Colonel Smoker!"

Her voice firmed as she led White-Clad Drunkard into the base, her steps quick and precise.

Not long after White-Clad Drunkard officially became a Marine, every player currently online in "Great Voyage Era" suddenly received a world notification.

[Global Announcement]

Since players have now officially joined both the Pirate and Marine factions, the Power System is now active!

Chat instantly went wild.

[Wait, the game has a Power System now?!]

[Wasn't this supposed to be a chill sailing and fishing game?!]

[Okay, "sailing" we accepted because of pirate ships...]

[And "fishing" meaning hunting Sea Kings, sure...]

[But now there's a Power System? For real?!]

[Not complaining though—this just got way more fun.]

[Think we'll get to become famous like Roger or Garp someday?]

The excitement swept through the community.

Even the five closed-beta players in-game felt their pulses quicken.

On the Red Force, Kaka instinctively opened her newly available Status Panel.

[ID: Kaka]

[Level: Lv. 0 (0%)]

[Faction: Pirates — Red-Haired Pirates]

[Bounty: 0]

[Ability: Melee Combat (Untrained)]

[Items: None]

[Achievements: None]

[Points: 0]

"Guys! We've got levels now!"

Her eyes sparkled as she scrolled line by line—then paused at the Points section.

Suddenly, another window popped up in her vision, listing how points could be earned.

Join large-scale war events

Evade Marine pursuit

Defeat rival pirate crews

Adventure with your pirate crew

Explore the unknown

Five ways to earn points in the Pirate faction.

Kaka read them all—then slumped.

None of those were things she could realistically do yet…

Just then, a fresh notification popped up.

[Congratulations, Player Kaka! You have joined the Four Emperor—Red-Haired Pirates. Achievement unlocked: "Crew of an Emperor."]

[Reward: Purple-Gold Treasure Chest ×1]

[Purple-Gold Chest — valued at 100,000 Points. May contain: Devil Fruit, Named Blade, or Special Ability.]

A brilliant purple-gold chest materialized in front of her—small but exquisitely detailed, gleaming with faint light.

Kaka's jaw dropped. She held it reverently, then immediately opened the in-game Treasure Mall.

Inside were only five chests for sale:

Chest Type

Cost (Points)

Diamond

1,000,000

Dark-Gold

500,000

Purple-Gold

100,000

Blue-Silver

10,000

Green-Wood

1,000

Each chest was marked only with a "?", hiding its potential rewards completely.

Kaka rubbed her palms together, excitement shining in her eyes.

"Guys! It's not the top-tier Diamond or Dark-Gold chest, but this one's worth a hundred thousand points! Any guesses what's inside?"

[If we go by the game's lore, the rarest treasure in this sea is the Devil Fruit—it's gotta be that!]

[Could be a Named Blade instead! From what Shanks and Zoro said, swords clearly have ranks too.]

[Yeah, Zoro's blade—Wado Ichimonji—is one of the "21 Great Grade Blades."]

[C'mon, enough teasing, Kaka! Open the damn thing already!]

Kaka laughed, glancing at the endless barrage of pleas, then rubbed her hands again.

"Alright, alright, I'm opening it!"

At Sea Breeze Company HQ, Li Jing turned to look at Gu Feng, curiosity glinting in her eyes.

He froze for half a second under that look.

Truth be told, the Power System had been unlocked right after the project's popularity hit ten million, something he'd added himself.

But… there's no way Li Jing could've known that. Right?

She looked back to the big screen, eyes sparkling with anticipation.

Kaka murmured a quick prayer, placed her hands on the chest, and tapped.

The purple-gold box shimmered—recognized her identity—and slowly opened on its own.

A burst of pure white light filled the screen.

[What did she get?!]

[Yeah, hurry up, we're dying here!]

[First-ever treasure chest opening in Great Voyage Era!!]

Li Jing leaned forward unconsciously, eyes flicking to the top corner of the display.

Because of Kaka's live chest opening, viewers had flooded in—

the four-way joint stream dropped to just 1 million,

while Kaka's personal stream skyrocketed past 5 million.

Across all platforms, "Great Voyage Era" now had over 6 million concurrent viewers—a number Li Jing wouldn't have dared dream of yesterday.

And under the watchful eyes of over five million people,

the white light finally began to fade…
