Chapter 2 - Chap 2 or What the…

With a sigh, I climbed the stairs, heading for the roof.

Even sitting through one class was tough for me, because damn it!

I don't want to listen to a lecture on something I've already covered. In this new school life, the only things that interested me were the History of the Japanese Islands, a history subject, and the Social Studies of Japanese Traditions—basically, a class on Japanese tales, stories, myths, and traditions.

And did you know there's a Yokai called a Kappa? A short, stocky creature with greenish skin and a turtle shell on its back, with a small, bowl-like indent on its head with liquid inside it.

These bastards act like children, are incredibly strong, and also, if you fight one and lose, it will pull a giant pearl out of your ass!

From your ass! Yours! A huge goddamn pearl! Who the hell walks around with a pearl in their ass?!

Anyway, that's just one of the most ridiculous and absurd things in Japanese folklore. There was a lot more, but mentioning it all would be a whole other topic that would take up a huge amount of time.

Pushing open the blue door to the roof, I walked out calmly and was surprised to see Takashi.

What, has he been sitting here this whole time?

Tsk, he has no pity for his mother, who works from morning till night at the police station just so he doesn't feel worse off than other kids from two-parent families.

Takashi didn't have a father, and I think that's why he's, well, a bit dumb, maybe?

I mean, who in their right mind would get offended because a stupid childhood promise wasn't kept?

Anticipating something like this, I'd grabbed two bento boxes from the kiosk.

"Hey, Takashi! Why are you sitting there with that sour face?" I shouted, getting the attention of this "knight with a broken heart."

"Tsumugi... what do you want?" He looked at me with a frown, lying on the cement right in front of the railing.

"Oh, just came to check on an acquaintance of mine," I said, walking over and sitting down next to him, "who didn't used to be such a wimp."

"...if you came to mock me with that ugly mug of yours, you can piss off, siscon." He would have spat if he could, but of course, he couldn't.

First, because he knew I wouldn't tolerate being spat on, and second, because he knew there was more benefit in being in my social circle than being my enemy.

"That's not why I came. I really did come to check on you, Takashi." I glanced towards the gate, where Teshima was still pacing. "You've really fallen apart over the breakup with your ex. God knows why, it's obvious she's still not over you."

"Rei isn't that kind of girl! She wouldn't cheat on Hisashi with me!" He closed his eyes and yelled at me.

"Are you an idiot?" I looked at this moron with pure bewilderment. "The point isn't that she'd cheat on him with you, but that she still hasn't gotten over her feelings for you, because... wait, didn't you say you promised to marry each other as kids?"

"Yeah, so what? To her, that promise was just empty words."

Fuck, you're such an idiot.

"Fuck, you're such an idiot, Takashi. Does everything have to be spelled out for you? Look, girls love that kind of crap, like your 'promise.' Since she was a kid, she only ever saw you by her side. You started dating back in middle school, although you never got to sex..."

"Hey!" He blushed.

"...you never got that far. The only downside here is that you didn't give her moral support last year when Shiso... no, Shiko? Ah, right, Shido!" He sat up and looked at me. "Held her back a year in the first grade. She was all over you then, begging for attention and support. Support that you!" I pointed a finger at him, making him stare at me more intently. "Did! Not! Provide!"

"Bullshit, Rei wouldn't have broken up with me just because of that..." He slumped back down on his ass, right next to me.

"But she did, precisely because you didn't support her, didn't hug her and tell her everything would be okay. Because of that, she had to stay for the summer semester, surrounded by all sorts of clowns." My voice was a little more cheerful than usual; I love pointing out other people's flaws.

"..." He clenched his fists.

"And she could have been harassed, you know our school is filled with all sorts of hooligans, yankees, and dumb teenagers like them."

"Shut up..."

"Alright," I raised my hands and was about to say more, but the door opened and there she stood on the roof, not far from us.

Kotobuki Tsumugi, my younger sister who's a year younger than me and is in her second year of high school.

"Well, you know what to do. You can watch from the corner like a little cuckold as Hisashi and Rei's relationship develops, or you can grab your balls by the fist, go apologize to Rei for everything, and ask her to start over. I'm out! I'm going to have lunch with my sister like a good big brother." I tossed one bento into his hands, took mine, and went to meet K-imoto.

"K-imoto, let's go." Taking her hand, I headed for the observatory.

"You were late for class, Ani!" She hit my side with her small fist, making me raise an eyebrow because I didn't feel a thing. "If it weren't for the fact that your first class is with Kishinami-san, who's scared shitless of you and doesn't mark you absent, Mom would already be scolding you!"

"Oh, whatever. Who cares about stupid physics anyway?" I rolled my eyes at her silly words.

"Ani! You're the one who says education is important, but you don't study anything yourself!" She pressed against my side, pouting. Her calling me 'Ani' was a family thing; she used to call me 'Onii-chan' just fine before high school, but now it's just 'Ani.' Sob-sob.

"I don't study because I don't need to. I already know all the topics we're supposed to cover, not to mention all my grades are perfect!" Letting go of her hand, I slung my arm over her shoulders and hugged my cute little sister.

"Hmph, that's not fair! You get good grades because all the teachers are afraid of you!"

"Oh, don't lie, you little liar. My grades aside, are you ready for your keyboard tournament? Do you have a partner? You needed to perform in pairs, right?" We started climbing the stairs to the observatory.

"No... no one at school wants to be my partner because they're afraid you'll go 'thump-thump' on them." She awkwardly punched the air a few times.

"Yeah, that's not cool..."

"Yeah, it's not very cool..."

I sighed and let go of K-imoto to open the door inside, letting her go in first before following.

"Honestly, I could be your partner in the tournament," I said, scratching my cheek.

"But you can't play the guitar, can you?"

"I'll learn. I'll practice day and night to help you, K-imoto." I looked at her and smiled. She blushed and looked away. "You can always rely on your Hooligan-brother, who beats up anyone who treats you even a little bit badly."

She smiled and sat down on a stool, her cheeks still red. I also sat down near her, opened my bento, and looked at her, who had already started eating hers. Chuckling, I began to eat mine with chopsticks.

It was hard for Kotobuki to make friends, not because of her personality, but because of me... for almost the first 10 years, I was too aggressive. It was hard to accept that I had been reincarnated, which made all my doubts, emotions, and other feelings go haywire.

Most of the time, I maintained a stoic expression and didn't try to open up too much to my mom or even my little sister.

Until the day Kotobuki came home crying with gum in her hair, talking about some boys at school who were bullying her.

Then... the next day, those kids' parents saw them come home with huge bruises on their faces, and by the following day, they were at school in a pack. The moment they saw me, with my hair already dyed blond, they caused a scene.

Remembering my mother's shocked and sad gaze and how K-imoto stared at me in disbelief was... sad... Was I so inert that even my own sister didn't believe I could protect her?

Mom had to take on loans for several years to pay compensation to those brats' parents, and for as long as I can remember, Father was never around. Though... deep in my memory was a faint image of a man who was also a blond.

Screw that spineless bastard who left Mom with me and Kotobuki. She had to sacrifice everything for us, and may my soul be devoured if I don't return all her care, love, and time tenfold!

For a while after that, Mom was down, but she never condemned me for protecting my sister. For a whole week, she was gloomy, clearly thinking about Father.

Until the next week, when I saw that Mom's hair was also dyed blond, just like mine. That's when I completely opened up to her, like a flower blooming in the sun, bestowing love on all those close to it.

My chopsticks hit the plastic container my food was in. Oh, it's finished.

"I'm done, big brother!"

"I've finished my lunch too."

"And that means...!" She stood up, walked over, and sat on my lap. "Hug time!" She hugged me, wrapping her arms around my sides.

Her ass pressed against my pelvis, and her chest a little higher than my stomach. She rested her head on my chest, listening to my heartbeat and hugging me.

And I... I just hugged her by the waist and held her close, resting my head on top of hers.

And so we sat, in complete peace and quiet, until someone started to move her hands down toward my ass.

"Kotobuki," my stoic voice sounded.

"C'mon, Anii! Let me touch it. You can touch mine too if you want, you can even squeeze it a few times!" she asked in a squeaky voice.

"Kotobuki."

"Oh, please!"

"Ugh... fine..." With my consent, her hands were on my ass, starting to squeeze it. But she definitely didn't expect one thing.

"Ah!" She snapped her head up and looked at me, her hands frozen where they were, a shocked look in her eyes.

"You definitely didn't expect this, little sister, but... if you push my buttons too much, I might not be able to hold back." My hands were squeezing her buttocks as I said all this into her reddening ear.

Her skin was so soft, and her butt so tender. I could feel it all even though I was squeezing and massaging her plump rear through her panties.

She stared at me, shocked, but instinctively started to move her hips against the bulge in my pants, her face completely red, as if she didn't even realize what she was doing.

"O-Onii-chan... I..."

I listened attentively, knowing what her words would be. I had known about her love for me since middle school. It was no joke; while all the other girls were confessing their love with chocolates and whatnot on Valentine's Day, my Kotobuki made heart-shaped chocolate herself and gave it to me when we were home alone.

Back then, although I accepted her chocolate, I didn't accept her love, for several reasons: because she was a 12-year-old brat, because my mind was occupied with other things at the time, and because we were brother and sister.

But over time, I noticed that her love for me only grew stronger, and eventually, I realized that Kotobuki was actually quite attractive, both in terms of personality and looks.

She was a cheerful, cute, and diligent girl, with plump thighs, a nice butt, and a good chest.

And the fact that she was my sister... well, we didn't necessarily have to have our own biological children. There was only one downside: marriage between blood-related siblings was forbidden in Japan.

Trrr!

Kotobuki instantly pulled away, blushing, and jumped off my lap.

"Ah-Ah, I have to get to class! Yes, to class, bye, Ani! See you tonight!"

She quickly ran out of the observatory, leave me alone.

"Damn school bell! Ruined the whole moment!" I clenched my fist and clicked my tongue, just as some kind of thing appeared before my eyes.
