Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9: THE HEAVENLY IMMORTAL CITY AND THE SECT'S EMBRACE

After nearly a week of travel, the ship had reached entirely different lands. Slowly, a city of unprecedented size appeared before Agois. High towers and tall buildings rose in the city, and the city walls were so immense that the walls of Aron, the capital of Pergron, looked like nothing next to them. His family, standing next to him, looked at this scene with astonishment and admiration. Crone thought he was somewhat knowledgeable and well-traveled, but in reality, his knowledge was limited to the small city of Lenes; looking at this city, he felt as if he had seen a new world.

Mina's worldview was constantly being shattered and rebuilt. Fel, with her carefree nature, looked at the scenery with wonder and curiosity.

While everyone was watching the view, Old Senfu suddenly appeared beside them. Smiling, he said, "This is the Heavenly Immortal City." Everyone was startled. How long had this old man been here? Everyone looked at Old Senfu with fear and respect. Crone and Mina respectfully greeted him, "Salutations to the Elder." Fel, being more carefree and fearless, asked curiously, "Grandpa Fu, are we going to that huge city?"

Old Senfu smiled, stroked Fel's head, and explained: "No, this city belongs to our sect, but our sect is not in this city." He continued, "You will live in this city now." As he said this, he looked at Mina and Crone with a smile.

Agois was surprised; he thought he would take his family to the sect as well. He hesitated whether to ask the Elder. Old Senfu saw Agois's state, understood him, and explained calmly: "This city is managed and protected by our sect, so don't worry. You can be sure that your family will live a good life here. Anyway, you'll see for yourself in a moment." He said, and the ship slowly began to slow down and enter the city.

The watchtowers in the city saw the emblem on the ship and made no attempt to impede it. The ship flew toward the highest tower in the city, descended, and shrank. Suddenly, Old Senfu, Agois, and his family stepped out.

Crone and Mina felt their world turn upside down again, barely suppressing the urge to vomit. Agois, however, was somewhat used to it. When they looked at the city around them, they were even more astonished because the city looked more beautiful and aesthetic than from the outside. They had never seen architecture of such beauty before; they felt as if they had arrived in a luxurious and architectural paradise city.

Agois felt the same way; this city looked incredibly beautiful and prosperous.

Old Senfu looked at the expressions of the family and was immediately proud. This was the territory of the Heavenly Sun Sect.

Immediately, ten guards approached Old Senfu, knelt, and greeted him in unison, "Greetings to the Elder." Old Senfu now began to exude an air of slight arrogance and authority.

The guards immediately explained: "Elder, the Tower Lord is aware of your arrival and is waiting for you," they replied.

Old Senfu immediately put his hands behind his back and signaled to Agois and his family to follow him. Old Senfu entered the tower with his hands behind his back, and Agois was right behind him. As they entered, Agois silently watched the scene as they proceeded through a corridor lined with golden columns carved with dragon motifs; he was very impressed. Crone was also impressed; everything felt like a dream to Mina.

After a while, Old Fu unceremoniously opened a door on the top floor of the building. Inside, there were three people. The most prominent and authoritative person was the one sitting at the head of the table; his hair was pitch-black and thick, his eyes were deep, and his eyebrows were like swords. His stern face was sharp. He looked at Old Senfu angrily and said, "Old Ghost Fu, you've grown even bolder now. Do you think this place is somewhere anyone can come?" He said, looking at Agois and his family.

Old Senfu explained with arrogance: "Old Ghost Mu? No matter how young you look, you still can't hide that you are an old ghost." He teased.

Old Mu became even angrier. Old Fu could drive him crazy every time, so he wouldn't engage in a verbal spat with this old ghost.

Old Senfu looked at Old Mu's expression; he was surprised to see that he didn't react much, realizing this old ghost could control himself now. Putting these thoughts aside, Old Senfu introduced Agois to Old Mu, pointing at him. "Hey Old Ghost, this young man you see is joining the sect. This young man has 4-star talent. I don't sit here doing nothing all day like you," he replied.

Old Mu, although annoyed by the last words, did not react. He calmly looked at Agois, thinking, "This young man has 4-star talent, does he?" If so, it wasn't bad; it was a high-grade talent, and he was worthy of joining their sect.

He immediately envied Old Fu. If this young man performed well, Old Fu could benefit from it. The sect was generous in this regard.

He understood immediately; this old ghost had only come here to show off. Angrily, he said, "Well, what's your business here? You can go report to the sect," he said.

Seeing Old Mu's reaction, Old Fu smiled, satisfied, and pointed at Crone, Mina, and Fel, giving instructions, "These are this young man's family. Help them settle in this city, and provide them with the best possible amenities."

Old Mu snapped angrily, "You didn't need to bother me for this," and immediately gave instructions to his aide. The aide turned to Agois and his family and said, "Please, Sir, I will help you now." The family looked at Agois; Agois nodded, telling them to accept.

He knew he couldn't take his family to the sect. The best place for them was this prosperous and strictly secure city. Even looking at the city walls gave you a feeling of security.

Agois bid farewell to his family for now, then began to follow Old Senfu's instruction.

They went together to a specific room in the tower. There was nothing in the room, only a large golden rune circle on the floor. In the center, a large, glowing stone rested on a mechanism. The golden rune looked very complex and esoteric; Agois was filled with admiration.

Old Senfu smiled and explained: "This is called a Teleportation Array. We will go to the sect from here. And since this will be your first time experiencing it, and you are not a Cultivator yet, you might feel unwell. So, for now, enter my Spiritual Object (the flying ship)." Saying this, he took Agois into the flying ship. Immediately after, he entered the array, and the array began to light up.

With a great flash of light, Old Senfu vanished.

When Agois felt his world turn upside down again, he opened his eyes and looked at the scene before him. The surrounding lakes, waterfalls, large complexes, and towers; they formed a magical vista. There was very high vitality and energy here; he could feel it even without being a Cultivator yet. He could see people flying in the air; some were on swords, others on different flying objects.

Seeing these sights, Agois truly thought he had arrived in heaven. Admiration was no longer enough to express his thoughts.

Old Senfu was even more satisfied to see Agois's state.

And some people flew to the Transmission Array (another name for the Teleportation Array). The arrivals were all energetic youths. A young man who looked like the leader of these youths said, "It is good to have you back, Old Fu. The Grand Elder awaits your report on the journey." The young man, handsome, tall, well-built, with red hair falling to his shoulders, exuded an imposing pressure with his presence.

Even Old Senfu looked at the young man before him with admiration. This person was once one of the most talented disciples of the sect. Now, his power had grown so much that he had become the youngest Elder of their sect. His name was Ren Mouzi.

They called him Elder Ren. This young man, with this power and status at this age, was still modest and relaxed; he was a true exemplary figure.

Elder Ren saw Agois next to Old Fu, immediately became interested, and asked: "Old Fu, is this child joining the sect?"

Old Fu smiled: "Yes, I found him in the barren lands of Zou Province. With his 4-star talent, he can join the sect. His character is equally good and balanced," he praised the disciple he had found.

Elder Ren and the disciples around him were surprised. This young man seemed to possess impressive talent. Although there were still many people with 4th-level talent in their sect, this talent was still considered high-level, they thought.

Elder Ren became interested in Agois. This young man wasn't bad; perhaps he could take him as a disciple. But it was unlikely with Old Fu present. Well, in any case, Agois seemed like a good junior brother. Whose disciple he became was irrelevant; they were brothers of the same sect after all, he thought.

"Then you take Agois to register at the sect, Elder Ren. I will go report to the Grand Elder," said Old Senfu. Then he turned to Agois and also said to him, "Little brat, you are now part of a sect, congratulations. I will find you later. First, adapt to the sect and thoroughly learn the information related to cultivation," he said. Saying this to Agois, he suddenly flew into the air and disappeared.

Elder Ren looked at the disciples behind him and said, "You can return to your own business. I will take the junior brother to register at the sect," and smiling at Agois, he said, "Come, follow me."

Agois replied respectfully, "Yes, Elder."

As Agois followed Elder Ren, he saw many disciples in white and black embroidered robes passing by. Every disciple they saw greeted Elder Ren respectfully and with admiration. The girls, on the other hand, were practically fanatics; they gazed at Elder Ren with loving looks everywhere.

Elder Ren was accustomed to this and always wore a smile, gently nodding his head to everyone. Agois saw Elder Ren's fame and prestige.

Passing pavilions and towers, they arrived at the sect's registration complex. The guards at the gate immediately opened the way respectfully when they saw Elder Ren. Agois followed Elder Ren into this large complex that exuded an ancient atmosphere. Elder Ren began to converse with the Sect's Inner Elder, known as the 13th Elder, Elder Li, at the registration desk. Elder Li was much older than Elder Ren and more powerful, but he did not dare to pressure Elder Ren. Elder Ren had gained favor with the sect's upper echelons and was already under their supervision. With his talent, he would certainly become a high-level figure one day. Therefore, even though Elder Ren was weaker than him in power right now, he was never arrogant; in fact, he approached him with great respect.

Elder Ren immediately got to the point: "Elder Li, this youth is someone Old Fu brought from the Zou Province. He will now join our sect. His past is clean, and his background is ordinary. Old Fu conducted these investigations. He only needs to be registered into the sect. If possible, he should be admitted to the Inner Sect; his talent is sufficient for this," he assured Elder Li.

Elder Li was surprised. He knew the Zou Province; it was the most barren province of Askaraf. In contrast to the Agron Province, Agron was the most prosperous, resource-rich, and largest province of Askaraf.

He immediately looked at Agois and registered him, asking for his information. Finally, he asked for a lock of blood from Agois. Agois was surprised but immediately cut his hand with the knife there and let a small amount of blood flow into the small bowl.

"Wait a moment, the Sect Token will be prepared now," Elder Li instructed.

And then he said something to his aide. The aide immediately vanished. Then Elder Li began to converse with Elder Ren.

After a while, his aide returned with a set of items. He handed the items to Elder Li and returned to his work. Elder Li took the items and separated them. First, he gave Agois a gold-embroidered token and began to explain: "The token in your hand is the symbol that you are a disciple of the sect. It is also an Inner Sect Token. You have now directly entered the Inner Sect. Normally, new students start in the Outer Sect, but since Old Fu and Elder Ren vouched for your talent, I made a small exception. I hope you do not disappoint them and the sect. And this token has Sect Contribution Points. You can use the sect's resources with these. For now, your token has 500 Contribution Points." Elder Li explained this calmly. In reality, he wouldn't treat every participating disciple this way, but Elder Ren was present, and he had to show respect.

And he continued: "This is your Spatial Ring." He handed a ring to Agois and continued: "It is given to every student joining the sect. Outer Sect students are given a spatial ring with 1 cubic meter of space. Those promoted to the Inner Sect receive 5 cubic meters of space. Since you entered the Inner Sect directly, you have obtained a spatial ring with 5 square meters of space," he said with a smile. And he continued: "This is your sect uniform." He gave Agois a gold-embroidered robe with black and white stripes, tailored exactly to his size.

Finally, he handed Agois a catalog. The catalog contained cultivation techniques with their explanations, and he asked him to choose one, thinking carefully. "Among them, the Heavenly Sun Technique is the core foundational technique of the sect, but it is also difficult to cultivate. The others are also powerful techniques; they can easily take you up to the Saint Realm, even beyond. So, choose the one that suits you best for now," he advised. Elder Ren also affirmed this with his expression.

Thinking about this, Agois wanted to lay his foundation with the technique that promised the most potential, so without much thought, he chose the Heavenly Sun Technique. He was very excited; it was clearly a powerful technique judging by its name. He wanted to start practicing immediately, but he still lacked sufficient knowledge. And he waited for the Elders to finish talking. Elder Li and Elder Ren were not surprised; every disciple who entered the Inner Sect usually chose this technique. The allure of the technique was impressive. They themselves cultivated this technique.

Elder Li looked at Agois and gave him a box. He told him to open the box. Agois opened the box; inside, there was a bright green elixir. Elder Li explained: "This is an elixir to draw spiritual energy into the body. It helps open the first meridian, making it easier. Everything is complete now. Welcome to the Heavenly Sun Sect," he said with a smile.

And Elder Ren interjected: "Thank you for your assistance, Elder Li, I will take it from here."

Elder Li spoke with a smile: "Very well, Junior Brother Ren, but first, take Agois to the courtyard where he will be staying and help him settle in," he said.

Agois was very excited. He had acquired very valuable things today. He eagerly awaited the time when he would begin his cultivation. Excitedly, he followed Elder Ren to the courtyard where he would be staying.
