Chapter 21 - Chapter 18. Peter Silberman

The expression of Lieutenant Trexler relaxed finally as if a burden had been lifted from his shoulder. At the same time the mission Notification came to Mikael. But he had a question as he took the mission, if he presented the Terminators that he had already defeated would that be considered to have accomplished the mission. What about showing his own supernatural specs. Would that be considered enough proof. What type of proof did Trexler want to be presented with. He would have to figure that out.

Four more coffees were brought for him which Mikael secretly stored away, he was already quite happy. But before he accomplished this side mission of Trexler Mikael had already asked for the resources that would help him in this mission. It was his right as an F.B.I Agent as well as the added benefit of the side mission giving him certain more freedom. Another treasure trove opened for Mikael to make use of, bullets, grenades, first aid kits and even bullet proof vests.

The only downside was the lack of heavier caliber weapons. But it was under his expectations, he would be more surprised if there was such a thing anyways. He had also gotten a full map of Los Angeles which fully allowed his map to show all structures, buildings and roads. That was an added benefit.

Mikael was ready to leave at that point. But he was still thinking about the proof required to be presented for Ed Traxler's mission to be accomplished. He thought about it seriously. First of all, any possible proof in video or photographic proof may be deemed useless. Traxler already possessed videos and those had been deemed insufficient. So, what did they lack, possibly physical proof? He still wondered if the Previous Terminators would be adequate.

He would have preferred not to waste time betting on it as proof only to be disappointed at the last second. He thought of it differently, and he found himself thinking about how Courts of law acted and how they brought people to justice. His eyes immediately lit up! Yes, there was another form of evidence that could act as proof. The presence of a witness! Yes, he could do these, he already saw the possibilities building up. But where was he going to get a witness from. One that had enough credibility to accomplish the mission.

Mikael had just moved away from the customer help desk, obviously with a note with the blonde's number within his pockets as well. It was almost coincidental, but just as he was exiting the building, he suddenly stumbled into someone else who was rushing to enter the building. This person was obviously the one who fell. Mikael would have continued without much though, but his attention was attracted by the presence of a Status on this specific person.

As he had come to learnt within mission worlds, not just anyone had stats. Just specific people were the ones who possessed it. Sarah Connor for instance as well as Ed Traxler and now this man. He had found these phenomena strange, was there a sort of qualification for one to have stats. Or was it like only important people were the ones who had Stats.

Mikael was aware that Ed Traxler was present within the Terminator movies and looking at the man as well and the present of his name within his stats, his name was easily revealed to him. And with the presence of that name Mikael instantly saw what he had been looking for, his witness had appeared right in front of him.

"Agent White… I don't understand why I'm here?" The younger Peter Silberman asked nervously, luckily for him, his hair had only started slightly balding, so he made for a strangely comedic figure. Silberman had been confused about this from earlier. When the F.B.I Agent had dragged him back to Trexler's office and asked for his backup in some sort of assignment he had. What help was he supposed to give?

"I need your expertise as a criminal psychiatrist Mr. Silberman. I have a case description. I wonder if you could provide some clues?" While Mikael wanted Silberman as a witness, he was quite curious how an outside perspective would help him in his current endeavors. His target while still the mission Traxler had given him, Mikael was now in pursuit of another mission.

The one which involved Sarah Connor, to find out how exactly Skynet had found Sarah's location. His life was truly miserable, running around because of his possible clues that might lead to nothing… Huhhh.

"Ohh, tell me more?" Silbermans' attention was immediately caught. If this was what Agent White needed for him, a mental framework on the mind of criminals that he could do.

The car parked stopped in a normal suburban neighborhood. The reason he was here anyways was to scout Sarah's home. The address which she easily told him after his asking.

"So, Mr. Silberman theoretically. Let's say a group of Assassins are sent after a family. The entire family is killed while on vacation and only the daughter survives… you got all that?" Mikael asked at the now pale looking Silberman who nodded quickly.

"For now, let's ignore the assassins. The problem with this case is the group of assassins finding out the family's location. Remember this is a normal average family, so no corporate assassination and no revenge for putting someone away in jail. So, what I'm interested in is how the assassins found the location of the family. Let's assume the assassins were given this information.

Using your analysis Mr. Silberman, who do you think would be more likely to get this information about the details of their vacation. Let's assume the family did not share this information with anyone." Mikael had his own thoughts on the matter but he waited for Silberman to make his own deductions. Silberman was deep in thought, he was working with very little information.

"There are multiple possibilities Agent White but let's narrow down the most likely ones. One a close friend of the family, two a neighbor who was able to somehow find out and three a possible stalker?" Silberman looked questionly at Mikael, and he returned a small smile.

"Yes, yes Mr. Silberman those all are the most likely possibilities. For now, let's remove the option for family friends. Our focus should be on either the stalker or the neighbors. But the stalker problem would take to long for us to consider it a possibility. So, for now, we'll deal with the neighbors." Mikael's smile was strange as he looked at Silberman, which the man started to look strangely at.

"So, in that manner Mr. Silberman, I need you to take this device and begin our investigations. "Mikael took out the T-Radar and handed it over to Mr. Silberman, this was truly the beauty of having subordinates. "Make sure to check that house last." His hand pointed at Sarah Connor's house, they were obviously within her neighborhood.

"Go on Mr. Silberman. This is why you're here." He obviously explained to Mr. Silberman how the T-radar worked.

Silberman had just checked the entirely of the neighborhood, doing exactly as Agent White had told him. It took him about an hour and both his legs and back hurt. But he was within the last house that Agent White had told him to go to and still had the same results. Nothing happened to the T-radar, not even a beep. The case was already looking to be a bust.

"Anything yet Mr. Silberman." Agent white asked over the two-way radio.

"Nothing so far, should I come back to the car?" He asked quickly, ready to go back to the office.

"Not yet Mr. Silberman. Proceed to enter the house. Don't worry about the consequences, Ill handle everything. "Agent white said not giving him a chance at all to refuse.

"Okay…" He could only sigh and proceed forward.

Silberman entered the house and as he expected it was just as any other typical American house. The only thing missing was the presence of the family… A sudden dawning fear instantly filled him with that thought.

"Agent White, this couldn't possibly be the house of that Theoretical family you were talking about." His voice trembled. Nervous sweat beads already running down his body.

"Off course not Mr. Silberman, that was obviously something I made up, haha." His worries decreased slightly but his nervousness remained. He wanted to get out of this house as fast as possible.

"Let's talk a little Mr. Silberman, that will make you less nervous, okay." Agent White asked, and Silberman felt slightly touched.

"Okay Agent White."

"So Silberman, can I call you that? I'll just call you Silberman from now on, you can also just call me White. As a criminal Psychiatrist, you obviously understand how the mind and thinking of a criminal works right" Agent white asked calmly, his voice somehow further easing his nerves.

"That's right White. I have a deep understanding of the mind of criminals." He answered confidence leaking from his voice.

"Okay then, let me ask you a question Silberman, have you ever had of incidences where killers come back to the site of their killings. I've always wondered why do they do that? Is it some sort of bragging, or maybe an exhilaration that runs through them that makes them do it? Maybe its even the satisfaction that they can't be caught while being so close?" Silberman found his nervousness quickly returning the more White spoke. The excitement in his voice was especially terrifying.

"Let me ask you another question Silberman. In what situation would a stalker stop being a stalker. Or let me rephrase it, in what situation would a stranger stop being a stranger" White asked him curiously and Silberman was suddenly aware of the dryness within his throat.

"… When they become a friend or someone you can trust…" Silberman said nervously.

"Yes, yes that is correct Silberman. Let me ask another question. There's a type of stranger within this world that we have come to inherently be used to. In fact, you may say we even put some trust in these strangers. We believe they have good intentions for us, we believe they protect the law.

Enough that if one of them, for instance asked you a question on where you were going while leaving your house unattended you would probably answer them. Hahaha." Silberman was ready to leave the house at this moment, suddenly he heard the familiar sound of sirens, and a dread filled his very being. The shock at the realization made him take a deep breath.

"You…you were using me as bait." He said with dawning realization.

"You should run Silberman, preferably using the back door. Nothing will happen to you as long as you get out of the house." Agent White said and at that moment, Silberman heard the knocking on the door and someone talking asking something, but he could care less. His feet were already rushing through the house, quickly moving to the back door. It was when he arrived at the kitchen that a loud boom came from behind him.

Silberman, despite his own fear, found himself looking behind. And right there, he saw the door was shattered, countless splinters now lying on the floor. This was something impossible for a human to do. He soon also noticed the person entering the house. A man, a large man wearing a police officer uniform. His expression was cold, no the correct term was that he had no expression at all, like a block of ice! In his hand Silberman immediately saw a pistol, which the figure was quickly aiming at him.

"Bang, bang, bang."

"Arghhh." Silberman suddenly had a surge of strength, his leg pushing him forward to avoid the bullets and luckily, not one had landed on him. Despite his out of shape boy, he rolled forward and body charged the door bursting through it as he scrambled into a run. The shooter behind him had never stopped firing but luckily for Silberman he was somehow managing to dodge the bullets.

His heart was beating strongly, his chest was heaving, but he was about to get back to the car, it was only when he approached close enough that he realized another fact the sent a terror inside him, Agent White was not in the car!

"Arghhh." Somehow Silberman tripped, strangely and he stumbled downwards, just then before he could stumble to his feet a shadow fell upon him. Silberman turned slowly, a dawning realization already on him. And when his eyes met the barrel of a pistol he knew his life was over

"You've done well Silberman." "BANG!" Silberman, two-way radio finally spoke and then he heard a sudden boom, loud enough that he could not identify where it come from. His fear instantly turned into shock when he saw what happened next. The shot he assumed was fired by Agent White had indeed landed. He saw how it ripped into the police officer, tore through his neck and completely ripped the head from the body.

While this sight shocked him, what truly almost crushed him was when the body crashed beside him, when he saw the metallic parts, wires and strange sparking, when his head turned back to the lower part of the head and he saw wires jutting out.

"We make a good team Silberman." Agent white suddenly appeared next to him further shocking him. Silberman, already having gone through so much in such a short period of time was at the end of his line, this last remark of Agent white was truly the load that broke the camel's back.

"Fuck you!" Silberman shouted, instantly after he crashed backwards passed out.
