Sallie's POV
"That's enough." Kevin finally snapped. His hand clamped around my wrist before he shoved me aside with brutal force.
My belongings scattered everywhere as I crashed to the floor, the impact jarring through my bones.
Kevin's face twisted with rage, though something like panic flickered behind his eyes. He must have realized his shove was harder than intended, but I couldn't bring myself to care about his belated concern.
He moved toward me, probably to help, but I dumped the rest of my stuff onto the ground without sparing him a glance. "Go on, search through everything. Make sure I didn't steal anything precious. Wouldn't want another accusation hanging over my head."
Kevin froze mid-step. We faced each other across a chasm that felt impossible to bridge.
