Sallie's POV
Just like I'd predicted, after poking around a few times, I caught on to something interesting about Jill. Every time I so much as breathed near Rowan, she'd go rigid as a board. Like she was terrified I might actually get cozy with him.
That realization left me even more puzzled than before.
My best guess? Jill was probably cozying up to Rowan just to snatch him away from me. The irony wasn't lost on me—I was way more drawn to Todd than Rowan could ever make me.
Sure, Jill had thrown herself at Todd before, but after he'd shut her down hard a few times, she'd backed off completely. Obviously knew when she was beat.
I turned it over in my head again and again, but couldn't crack why Jill was playing this game. One thing was crystal clear though—her weird behavior was definitely tied to whatever the hell was going on with her.
