Sandy's POV
Dominic lunged toward me with murderous intent, but this time I was ready. When his fingers reached for my throat, muscle memory from countless training sessions took over. I caught his elbow and executed a perfect takedown that sent him crashing to the floor.
The impact drove the air from his lungs. He stared up at me with shock written across his bruised features, clearly having forgotten who he was dealing with.
I dropped my knee onto his chest and leaned down with a cold smile. "Did you actually forget that I carry Alpha blood too?"
"You little—" he snarled, his eyes flashing between human and wolf.
All those months of enduring his cruelty had been a choice. I stayed because I believed I had no other option. But now that I had discovered another path, it was time to show this pathetic excuse for a mate exactly who he was messing with.
