Sandy's POV
The moment we drove away from that suffocating packhouse, I felt like I could breathe again. I cranked down the window and let the cool air wash over my face, carrying away the lingering tension that had been weighing on my shoulders.
"So what was that whole scene about you cheating on the Alpha?" Dalia's voice cut through the wind as she settled back in her seat.
I could tell she was fishing for details now that we were away from prying ears.
"Simple enough. Dominic decided to cheat on me, so I returned the favor." The words rolled off my tongue easily, accompanied by a satisfied smile that I couldn't quite suppress.
"I don't buy it for a second." Dalia crossed her arms and gave me that look she reserved for when she thought I was being evasive. "You're not the type to just hook up with some random guy, Sandy. What really happened back there?"
