Sandy's POV

"You have nothing on beneath that shirt."

His voice came out rough and strained, sending shivers racing across my flesh.

"So what if I don't?" I trembled, attempting to create space between our bodies, but my efforts proved useless.

"Don't move." His breath ghosted against the back of my neck, each exhale uneven and desperate.

Every muscle in my body locked into place. His arm tightened around my waist while his leg shifted away from mine.

The rigid evidence of his desire pulled back slightly. Air filled my lungs again, though tension still coiled through every fiber beneath my thin cotton shirt.

"Stay exactly like this." Charles's whisper burned against my skin, his body radiating heat into mine.

"Why would I obey you when—"

"Because if you want to avoid me taking you right here, you'll do as I say, Sandy. Following my lead might actually let you get some rest tonight."
