Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Simple Life

I would say I live a pretty normal life, I have a house, married with a daughter. I work for a security company, yeah it's not the best job but it's good enough to pay the bills. I would say everything in life is good, I have little complaints but sometimes at work I have these scenarios that run through my head of what I would do if I went back in time and changed some stuff around a little bit but I guess you can't change your destiny right. I'm getting ready for work, another graveyard shift, it's a pretty simple job just drive around the place and make sure there's not homeless people or anything trying to break in or start shit. I walk down stairs to the kitchen where my wife, Kate, is cooking dinner for us and our one year old daughter, Elliana.

"Hey babe what you making?"

"Spaghetti, I'm getting your plate ready right now"

"Ooo alright"

I walk over to my daughter who's in her high chair eating some snacks

"Hey elly! What are you eating?"

She looks at me and smiles and continues eating her snacks. My wife hands me a bag with my dinner

"Here you go"

"Thanks babe, I'll see you later"

"Be careful there's been alot of transients breaking to places recently"

"Don't worry nothing ever happens and they always listen to me anyways"

"I know but still just be careful"

"I will"

She gives me a kiss and I head out the door and get in my car and drive to work. When I get to work to get the patrol car my supervisor is there waiting for me.

"Jay! How's it going?"

"It's alright, what you up to sarge"

"Nothing shits been dead and boring all day over here, how's it been over where you're at?"

"Same shit, boring as hell"

"Yeah but that's a good thing for us, easy money"

"True, well imma head outl

"Alright be safe out there"

I drive over to the property and get ready for my shift wondering what the night has in store for me.
