It's been 6 months since I joined the academy. And I have to say I learned a lot.
During these months, I easily(practically without any effort) learned everything in math and language. And started studying higher level books from library
During this I learned many things in the academy, such as setting traps, ambushes, etc
But I also notice several times that there is a gaze on me, i dont bother to find it because I already had a guess on who it is
Honestly, every Naruto fan knows the rip off Hashirama and Madara duo or the twisted lovers Hiruzen and Danzo
And it is likely them, I mean I won't blame them as I was a genius alongside Kakashi and probably on the same level
It obviously led them to pay attention to me. And another was that my friendship with Asuma which caused Hiruzen to probe me more after all even if their family is dysfunctional he still cares about his son
In this time I grew to be known as kind and gentle person but absolutely cold towards anyone who tries anything bad to his friends which was to sum it up a good rep
With this , my reputation as a genius and kind person were both established which gave me a flimsy but enough of a cover for Hiruzen to protect me from Root
And lately my taijutsu has been getting stronger as I was sparring with Kakashi
From the start of the academy, when we made that promise he held it up and sparred with me which helped me improve tremendously
Honestly with my skills right now, I could beat genin easily and chunins with some tricks and ambushes
But the real shock was meeting the White Fang, Hatake Sakumo, Kakashi's father
Whenever I read the manga although he was shown a little bit and was said to be stronger than the sannin combined. I never knew much about him
But turns out he is like nothing more than a friendly uncle who is loved by others and is kind to everyone one
Honestly, looking at the Sannin I thought he too might have some strange quirks like some obsession but he didn't have anything like that he was just... normal
It was both surprising and entertaining to know that one the strongest shinobi of today was just a normal guy
As we were sparring together, me and Kakashi naturally became friends and started hanging out
Obviously this attracted attention because of two reasons,
The first was that both were publicly known as genius and the second was our appearance, I mean look at us one has silver white hair(Kakashi) and and black eyes with a pretty face and the other has pure white hair(me) and crimson red eyes
We were just future heartthrobs walking everywhere
Another surprising thing was that Uncle Sakumo taught me basic swordsmanship
(I call him that due to his request)
But today was different as he was teaching me more about chakra
At the Hatake Household
"So are you ready? " Uncle asked me and I nodded, and beside me Kakashi was just as always being there with his aloof boy demeanor
"Yes, but I have a question why are teaching me about chakra, it was already taught in the academy? " I asked with puzzled expression
"You see although the academy teaches you about chakra it merely scratches the surface of what it is, therefore I will be teaching it to you on deeper level" He explained to me
With that I shut my mouth up and concentrated fully as it wasn't everyday that you could learn about chakra from someone like him everyday
"But first we will be checking your affinities, you are aware of them, I believe? "
Hearing that I nodded my head, and thought, 'There's not really a need for checking because I have all of them but I shouldn't know about them so I will just pretend to not know'
After seeing me nod he passed a paper to me and said, "Pass some of your chakra through it and it will show your affinity"
Following his instructions, I passed some of my chakra and instantly the paper showed five different reactions
It burned, became damp, split apart, wrinkled up and crumbled into dirt respectively
Seeing this there was a silence in the room and it was starting to get awkward for me
Uncle Sakumo just stared at the paper and me in silence looking like he was contemplating something while Kakashi was a bit dumbfounded
To break the silence I just said, "Ahahaha... It looks like I have all the chakra natures"
Hearing this Uncle just nodded and said, "But that also means you need to put more effort in all, only then can you maximize your advantage in battles"
Hearing this I nodded as having potential was one thing but maximizing it to its full usage was harder
"Anyway, let's start by understanding chakra first, so can you two tell me what you know about chakra"
At this Kakashi answered, "Chakra is combination of our physical and mental energy, and is also a core part of being ninja as it heightens our physical and mental capacity beyond normal limits"
"Good, but what about Ryoma? "
At this I simply followed up on Kakashi and said, "Same, I don't really have much else", I lied as I knew about Yin-Yang release but didn't say it as it was too advanced
Hearing this he thought for a moment and said, " Alright, I understand where the two of you are now let's begin"
"First as you said chakra is combination of our physical and mental energy and it provides significant boosts to our capabilities but what about things such as jutsus that branch from an element? "
As he was saying that he looked towards me expecting me to answer and I complied, "It is due to chakra control, we manipulate our chakra with the hand seals to release chakra in the form of devastating techniques"
Hearing my answer, he said, "Correct, that's why today we are gonna work on your chakra control as it is one the most important thing in all of ninjutsu whether in medical ninjutsu or genjutsu or simply elemental ninjutsu"
'Ah it is gonna be tree walking isn't it followed by water walking'
"That's why we will start by tree walking, walking on trees like this" He said as walked on the tree like he was walking on the ground
'Yup, so predictable but whatever only by grinding this can I better at ninjutsu'
I looked towards Kakashi who was immersed in a book, 'he probably already learnt this maybe that's why he is so relaxed though his paying attention over here'
After getting down Uncle started instructing me on how to do it and then I tried it
'Hmmm this is how you do it huh' as I was thinking I lost focus and fell but immediately tried it again and lo and behold I succeeded on the second try
Uncle Sakumo just looked at me with great admiration and Kakashi well... Let's just say he was a 'bit' frustrated
He took nearly half a day to learn this and here I was learning it in not even an hour
With that happening Uncle Sakumo looked like he was watching a show occurring in front of him with me trying to appease Kakashi and him just being frustrated
After the little farce was over, Uncle Sakumo made me do tree walking a few more times to familiarize myself with it which was pretty quick
After that he led me to a little pond and taught me water walking which I nailed on the first try
At this point Kakashi just let out an exasperated sigh at what I did and there was me who trying to make sure I don't end up crushing his pride to dust
All in all when looking from afar we looked like twin brothers just playing together
Seeing this scene gave sense of tranquility in Uncle Sakumo's heart
And he also joined our banter, that evening he celebrated my achievement of learning chakra control exercises in an izakaya
Meanwhile, At the Hokage building
Hiruzen was looking at this scene from his office, he smiled knowing that Ryoma will be someone who will grow up to be a pillar of Konoha
After learning about him from his son, Hiruzen became even more interested in this young prodigy who could befriend his rebellious son
He started 'monitoring'(stalking) Ryoma at times and got a general evaluation of his personality
It could be said he was truly impressed and even reminded him of his disciple who seems to become stranger by the day
While he was lost in thought, the door opened with a loud 'thud' and from it emerged the legendary one eyed cyclops the greatest scapegoat of all times Danzo sama(*\O/*)
Seeing Danzo, Hiruzen's original mood was drowned in cold water and he reluctantly asked, "What is it, Danzo, also didn't I tell you to knock on the door before entering"
Danzo just snorted at his old comrades remark and directly said, "Give me Ryoma and I will turn into the strongest shinobi of the leaf"
"No" Hiruzen just flatout rejected him
"I won't let you have him, he is promising shinobi i don't want him to become an emotionless machine"
"That's called making them efficient and your methods are too naïve look at your disciples one is becoming strange, one is a pervert like you, one is a gambler in debt"
Hiruzen just threw his words out through the other ear and said, "Anyway, you will not be having him that's the end of it"
Danzo went green with anger and just went out without another word like a wife who was rejected custody of her child by her husband
Left behind in the office Hiruzen just sighed and started doing the paperwork again
As the celebration was over, Uncle Sakumo and Kakashi went to their home and I went to my apartment
While going I felt like I was being watched so I turned around but no one was there so I kept walking but just as I was about to enter the apartment a figure appeared besides me
The person had a mask on and was wearing a black cloak a signature outfit of Konoha ANBU but the atmosphere around the person was eerily still
'Root, huh, guess the cyclops couldn't handle waiting, now how do I get out of this situation'
Just as the Root ninja was about to speak, a voice called out to me
"Ryoma, you forgot this book that I gave you, hmm? "
It was Uncle Sakumo, but what was he doing here?
"Hm, what does an ANBU ninja need from a child? "
Seeing that he was discovered by the White Fang, the Root ninja just said, "Danzo-sama wishes to meet such a promising ninja and would like to take him(me) under him
" Is that so, I would love to hear the Hokage's opinion on this matter"Uncle Sakumo just bluntly threatened the ninja
Seeing that Uncle Sakumo was not letting him take me away, he left without another word
Uncle just turned to me and said, "Listen Ryoma, whenever someone by the name of Danzo calls you immediately reject it and do not follow them, alright? "
Seeing his serious expression, I nodded, 'It seems he felt the presence of the Root ninja a while ago and just 'coincidentally' bumped into him while meeting me'
Figures, there is no way someone like Uncle won't be able to sense a mere chunin
With that he bid me farewell and left, and I went in the apartment and started reflecting on the entire day, a habit I made to improve my memory but also to analyse everything
Meanwhile, in the Root base
"Apologies, Danzo-sama, White Fang interfered in the operation and didn't let me capture the target" The Root agent said with an emotionless tone
"Hmph, how useless, couldn't even get a single child well whatever I have more important things to attend to right now, so keep an eye on him" Danzo said and left

Actually I want to explain something about this fanfic
You see this fanfic came to life only due to one reason
Actually I just wanted to write down this fanfic idea somewhere online be done with it but after giving it some thought I decided to seriously write this fanfic
So, here's to the new beginning of the fanfic 🍻
And please stay tuned because I am planning very fun things in the future of Ryoma
Just bear with me till his graduation
It's really hard to write it because if massive info dumps that I like to go on
