Chapter 3 - Chap2 : Two Years of Growth

----3rd pov----

"Huff... that... huff... was... tiring."

In a training chamber inside the underground house, a space that could rival a five-star luxury home even on Earth.

an eight-year-old child lay on the ground catching his breath. He had purple, almost black hair with silver ends, and he complained despite no one being around to hear.

he is Ray light, and its already Two years had passed since he was transported to this world.

Compared to his previous malnourished state, he now possessed a well-trained body, making him look a year or two older than his age. Thanks to the house and all the resources within, he had no reason to go out, allowing him to fully concentrate on training and solidifying his cultivation, and knowdleg after his awakening.

That day, Ray woke up to find that he had not only awakened unique Martial Souls but that his 'Ancestor's' gifts were truly over the top.

The first was the Appraisal interface, which allowed him to scan anything from a living being to inanimate objects without strength or level restrictions.

The second gift was a half-dimension. The shocking fact for Ray was that every planet and creature there possessed properties that could be used in alchemy. Thus, he had a giant herbal garden for his personal use.

What's more, there was a complete ecosystem within, though he sadly hadn't spotted any intelligent creatures. All the fauna operated based on a cruel instinct to kill intruders, and Ray was actually included in that description.

He spent the first year doing nothing but training and solidifying his cultivation base. From the information he had read, he was fully innate at Rank 10, so instead of looking for a Soul Ring, he focused on mastering control over his body.

Once he reached the point where he could control and use his Spiritual and Soul Energy as an extension of his body, the first year had passed.

By this time, he started to dip deeper into the library, partly to kill boredom after training and partly to gather information and knowledge.

oh boy, he found himself coming up with crazy theories regarding the current continent's power system.

Ray started by spontaneously looking for any information about the globe he used to awaken. He found that it was, in fact, a Level 6 Pill/Elixir. The pill served as a catalyst to awaken the connection between the world's energy and the human soul.

This connection would take a conceptual form, what they called a Martial Soul. and this connection allowed the user to utilize their meridians and the entire energy circulating system in the body.

But that was what Ray found most confusing. In the original work and the outside world, they used a stone formation to awaken the latent Martial Soul. Since he didn't know the difference, he stopped there and searched for other points.

Soul Rings were the current breakthrough method on the continent, and according to the library, it was a barbaric and primitive method at best.

But it wasn't the only one, yet they still using it.

Ray found it truly weird, if a person could kill a Soul Beast and integrate their Soul Ring, why not look for another way? The very act of killing a beast leaves a severe wound on the world's vitality.

'Was someone trying to destroy the world?' The thought hit him.

In the third timeline (Douluo Dalu 3: The Legend of the Dragon King), the Soul Beasts were almost driven to extinction, and that all benefited a certain person. But that person was only taking advantage of an existing system, and his son-in-law later tried to fix it somehow.

After finding his research going in a spiral, he stopped all that, but the doubt left him determined to create his own system. The Spirit System came to his mind.

With that goal, he dove again into researching a way to recreate a Spirit (Soul Partner). The deeper he went, the higher his understanding of the Formations and the way they affected the laws of the world became.

Finally, by the end of the next year, Ray managed to recreate something similar to the Soul Contract from the original work, but his creation far surpassed that system in auxiliary specifications and core function.

What Ray didn't know was that what he had created was something far superior to the original contracts.

......

"Well, I'm done for today," Ray thought, looking at the counter above his head. He ended his training session early, as today was the day he finally beat the master level of martial arts training, and the day he turned ten years old.

When Ray said "martial arts," he was referring to the Training Chamber. 'I have to say it's freaking amazing, no matter how many times I use it,' Ray thought, picking up his clothes for a shower. 'All I have to do is choose the training subjects, and the room creates a schedule and a training avatar for me.'

With everything afforded, he chose to train in Wing Chun and Taekwondo. This choice was highly effective thanks to his body and Martial Souls. What he awakened were two of the top-ranked Martial Souls.

the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox, and the mutated Soul Lungs, Integrating the former into his training, with nine extra limbs at his command, made his potential lethality immense.

while the later work as infinty energy suplier, for his body and mind.

Sitting down in meditation after his shower, "now let's see how much I gained from this month of training," he murmured.

activated the scan, and a hologram popped up in front of him.

__________

"Well, it's not that bad for now," he said, sounding somewhat like bragging, but he had every right to do so. Everything he had achieved was something that normally takes years of training, especially considering the demanding nature of the training avatars.

Ray had even created a set of techniques, which was a complete surprise even for him; he was only trying to figure out how to manipulate Soul and Spiritual Power, and the techniques just clicked.

The only part that still confused him was the bloodline. Ray had seen what happened later in the series, but the situation with his own bloodline was a completely unexplained case.

"Anyway, time to visit the Star Dou Forest and start my cultivation for real." He went out of the bedroom after washing up and headed to the Warehouse, one of the rooms in the house that made his life easier.

This warehouse was nothing special except for drawers all over the walls and a little interface in the center. All he needed to do is input the name and content of things, and a drawer will open with the material in it (if he had them in stock), and that included everything needed or not (from diapers to some unique metals).

Picking a one-handed sword and a robe, he headed out.

Ray has been in the Star Dou Forest for five days, and now he is in the middle region. For a while now, he has been looking for a suitable Soul Beast, and he's had no luck so far. It's not that he hasn't found any; they simply weren't suitable to be one of his Spirit Partners, as he liked to call them.

While traversing between the trees, his spiritual sense picked up a fight going on not far ahead of him. Cranking up his speed and getting close to the noise, he hid his presence. Slowly, he found himself watching a battle between a crystal-like deer, six to seven meters tall, and a long red serpent.

While hiding, Ray didn't notice, but the moment he got close, the deer flinched for a moment, realizing the intruder.
