Lucas Roth did not need to listen to anything that Haley Slater had to say. He already had proof that she and Deacon had been lying for months now. For entire months the two of them had kept up the charade of being a happy couple, pretending as though they were in love. But now the jig was up. Lucas had proof that they had lied to everybody.
And yet Haley Slater still seemed to think that she could ask to be heard.
"Just what could you have to say that will change my mind about my untrustworthy son? Miss Slater, I already know what the two of you have done,"
To be honest. Lucas was fully expecting for the young woman to burst into tears and start crying. Begging for forgiveness on behalf of both herself and his son.
'Please forgive us, Mr Roth. We made a mistake. We did not mean to lie to everyone. We were just trying to do the right thing, blah, blah, blah,'
That was the sort of reaction that Lucas Roth was expecting.
