Chapter 2 - Ch-2: Loguetown

Walking into the town felt bizarre.

Every step in those formal leather shoes felt weird and the long coat trailing behind him wasn't exactly helping. Raizel still hadn't gotten used to the outfit. He looked like someone who had walked out of a gothic novel and accidentally ended up in a beach town.

He walked past rows of brick buildings with strangely bright, colorful rooftops. The people walking by looked... different.

he saw guys walking around in open Hawaiian shirts, women in casual summer dresses and merchants yelling about some strange oversized fish.

Raizel kept his eyes straight while maintaining his cold and intimidating posture. He spotted a local vendor stacking wooden crates outside a fruit shop.

He walked up, his height very high compared to the short man. Raizel looked down through his gold rimmed glasses his low and calm voice cutting through the market chatter. "A moment of your time."

The vendor jumped dropping a the abnormally large melon. He looked up at the terrifying pitch-black figure of a man who looked like he murdered people for a living. "Y-yes, sir?! Can I help you?!"

"What island is this?" Raizel asked calmly without a hint of emotion in his voice.

The vendor blinked confused but too scared to lie. "Uh... you're on Polestar Island mister. This is Loguetown." Any longer and he might pee in his pants.

Raizel's heart practically stopped. 'Loguetown?... Like seriously loguetown'

The town of the beginning and the end. The place where Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, was born and executed.

He wasn't in the cruel madness inducing world of Lord of the Mysteries. He had been dropped straight into One Piece.

A laugh threatened to bubble up his throat, but he was newly minted Gehrman Sparrow now, how could gehrman sparrow laugh like idiot that raizel was, His face remained a terrifying mask of absolute detachment showing no sign of happiness beneath.

'No wonder I didn't turn into a puddle of cosmic horror when I thought of Adam,' Raizel thought, a wave of profound relief washing over him. 'Nothing of that monocle guy and his humble superior'

But then a sharper and more pragmatic realization set in. He was a Sequence 6 Faceless with Creeping Hunger on his left hand. In the East Blue the weakest of all seas a Sequence 6 Beyonder wasn't just strong,he was an absolute monster.

"I see," Raizel said. His low, dangerous voice made the vendor flinch. "Thank you."

Without waiting for a reply Raizel turned, his midnight-black trench coat swirling still like an unpaid actor. He walked away with measured, heavy steps, leaving the vendor in relief.

As he walked down the cobblestone streets, the bizarre contrast of his existence truly hit him. He was a Victorian gothic nightmare walking through a vibrant, sunny manga world.

'Okay, let's assess the situation,' Raizel thought while adjusting his half top hat with a gloved finger. 'I need to check my inventory.'

Inside with neatly arranged rows were the tools of the trade:

A sleek, heavy iron revolver (Death Knell).

Several boxes of specialized ammunition (Purifying bullets, Exorcism bullets, and hunting rounds).

A few gold coins of unknown currency and a stack of clean paper.

'Did the one who sent here a fan of lotm or something cause he sure hell knows about it, well no doubt there it is the greatest piece of fiction afterall' raizal lampooned in his mind.

Raizel reached into the suitcase and picked up Death Knell. The cold iron felt entirely natural in his hand, as if he had fired it ten thousand times. He slipped it into the holster beneath his trench coat.

Then he focused on his left hand. Slowly he peeled back the pristine leather glove.

In the center of his palm sat a grotesque but human like mouth with tightly shut lips twitching slightly. He could feel its hunger,

a deep craving for souls.

Creeping Hunger was a sealed artifact that required a human soul everyday he used it to satisfy it or it would consume its wielder.

'Wait,' Raizel thought, his brow furrowing slightly behind his gold rimmed glasses. 'If I'm in One Piece, how does the feeding rule work? And more importantly... whose souls are sealed inside it right now?'

'Hmm something to divine later, I wouldn't want a soul eating glove to take a nap on my hand without even knowing what it could do or if it could do anything at all' raizel thought while looking at silent glove.

Suddenly, a loud commotion broke out at the end of the alleyway, spilling out from the main street.

"Catch him! Don't let that bounty hunter get away!"

"He tried to kill the captain! Shoot him!"

A group of heavily armed pirates came sprinting past the mouth of the alley. They were dressed in mismatched sashes and striped shirts, carrying flintlock rifles and swords. Leading them was a massive, burly man wielding a giant iron mace with his eyes bloodshot with rage.

Raizel stood up smoothly picking up his suitcase. He stepped out of the alley into the sunlight of the main street, right into the path of the oncoming mob.

The burly captain stared at Raizel's half top hat, his formal three-piece suit, and the utterly dead, emotionless eyes behind the gold-rimmed glasses. For a second, the pirate felt a instinctual spike of primal fear. But looking at his crew of fifteen men, his confidence returned.

"Get out of the way, you formal-looking freak!" the captain roared, raising his iron mace. "Or I'll paint the pavement with your brains!"

Raizel stood calmly before the raging pirate crew. His left hand remained slightly raised, the leather gloved palm hiding the twitching, ravenous mouth of Creeping Hunger.

Gehrman sparrow tilted his head slightly, the sunlight glinting off his gold rimmed glasses. His voice cut through the tense air calm and entirely devoid of emotion.

"Do you have a bounty?"he asked fully giving in his acting.

The burly pirate captain blinked a couple of times completely thrown off by the question. The fifteen armed men behind him exchanged confused glances. They were piretes not some market employees and this freak was casually asking about their legal standing with the World Government?

"What did you say, pal?" the captain snarled, gripping his iron mace tighter. "You mockin' me? I'm 'Iron-Jaw' Alvida's former subordinate, Captain Gila! I got a two million Berries bounty on my head! Every Marine in the East Blue knows my name!"
