Chapter 5 - 5

Los Angeles Airport Hospital, main entrance.

"Thank you very much!"

Pietro expressed his gratitude repeatedly; he knew it was his and his sister's luck, otherwise, this matter wouldn't have ended so simply.

Victor wore a radiant smile, and his gaze, when it fell upon Wanda, was profound.

That look made Wanda feel as if the handsome man in front of her had known her for a long time.

More than just knowing.

Before Victor's transmigration, he had even pursued her, but their relationship ultimately remained at the level of good friends, the reason being that she didn't like a younger brother five years her junior.

Now.

He was 24, she was 18, he was five years older than her.

Interesting.

Without dwelling too much on it, Victor thought for a moment, then took off the Patek Philippe watch from his wrist and handed it to Wanda—this watch was given to him by Elizabeth in his previous life, and now it was like returning it to its rightful owner.

Wanda didn't take the watch, which clearly looked very expensive, and stared at Victor with wide, puzzled eyes.

Victor still smiled warmly: "Consider it the hospital fee. Haven't you noticed? Your brother is worrying about the upcoming expenses."

Wanda looked back at Pietro in surprise, as if asking, "Are we really that poor?"

Pietro's expression changed for a moment, and then he awkwardly nodded.

They really were out of money; hospital fees in America were truly expensive.

If they didn't find a way to get some money, let alone accomplish their purpose for this trip, they probably wouldn't even have enough for the return plane tickets.

Wanda still didn't immediately take the watch, her expression very hesitant.

Victor immediately offered a way out: "How about this, you give me 100 US dollars. I'm penniless right now and need some money for a taxi."

While Wanda was still hesitating, Pietro had already pulled out five 20-dollar bills and exchanged them for Victor's watch—the diamonds embedded in that watch alone were worth more than that price.

Knowing her brother, his urgency made Wanda realize that the siblings were probably on the verge of bankruptcy—and they had only been in the hospital for a few hours.

Victor didn't pay much attention to these details, deftly stuffing the dollar bills into his bulging wallet—inside were new 2018 RMB notes, which couldn't be spent.

But in Wanda's eyes, it was different.

So many banknotes, credit cards, bank cards, plus Victor's attire, he didn't look like someone who needed 100 US dollars.

He was clearly trying to help her and her brother.

Victor put his wallet back into his inner suit pocket, only to feel a fragrant breeze sweep over him, followed by two soft, firm masses covering the back of his hand and his arm.

"You're a good person, Victor," Wanda whispered in his ear.

Before he could fully savor the sensation, Wanda, like a startled bunny, darted away into the distance.

Pietro raised an eyebrow at Victor, then waved goodbye and quickly caught up with Wanda.

Leaving Victor standing alone, bewildered.

No.

Girl.

If you wanted to hug me, I wouldn't mind.

But giving me the 'good person' card, isn't that a bit too much?

However... he took his right hand out of his inner suit pocket, moved his palm, and savored the softness he had just felt.

Tsk tsk, with his extensive experience with women, Wanda was definitely still a virgin.

It was just a shame that it was the back of his hand that made contact; if it had been his palm... He shook his head, chasing away those inappropriate thoughts, and Victor glanced in the direction Wanda and her brother had left, letting out a soft laugh.

If fate allowed, they would meet again.

"Alice."

"I'm here. Do you have any instructions?"

"Can you reactivate my credit card? The one from my original world."

"No problem. The magnetic strip has been written with data. Please place the corresponding credit card next to your ear; Alice needs to read the data."

Victor, as instructed, took out his wallet, cycled through all the cards, pulled out the American Express Centurion Black Card, and placed it next to his ear.

"Credit card activated. No spending limit. Actually, Alice can directly increase your bank balance."

"It's just a small amount of money. Keep a low profile. Collect mutant information, discreetly infiltrate the Sentinel Services, and find the nearest mutant underground sanctuary to me."

"This will take some time. Sentinel Services is protected by a weak AI. Bypassing it is a bit troublesome. Estimated time: 3 hours. If there's no need to hide traces, Alice can rewrite permissions in just three minutes."

"Hmm, hiding traces is the top priority. We're not suitable for exposure yet."

"Alice received."

"Also, book me the nearest five-star hotel and have them send a car over."

"Hilton Hotel Presidential Suite order completed. Airport pickup service requested, estimated arrival in fifteen minutes."

The Hilton Hotel's private car arrived very quickly.

Holding the Centurion Black Card, Victor naturally received the hotel's highest level of treatment. The previously 'full' Presidential Suite also had a complimentary upgrade—large hotels are never truly full; they always reserve a few rooms for potentially distinguished guests.

Pressing the "Do Not Disturb" button, Victor sank into the sofa, staring blankly at the sunset outside the floor-to-ceiling window.

After a long time.

Victor sighed deeply and summoned the Interdimensional Trading Platform.

He still hadn't chosen to draw the "Newbie Reward."

Alice had solved his real-world identity and initial resources, but his self-preservation strength was still up in the air.

Not to mention that this was the Marvel Universe, just the fact that this was America was enough to make him wary.

Many people in his home country yearned for American freedom.

Little did they know.

Unless you were constantly surrounded by bodyguards when you went out, ordinary civilians often had to wear bulletproof vests.

Who didn't have a few guns at home?

Unlike back home, where a blunt iron object could be classified as a controlled weapon and confiscated, and a sharpened one would be pushing the legal limits.

Therefore, self-preservation strength was very important.

The items on the Interdimensional Trading Platform were as vast and endless as smoke, enough to dazzle an ordinary person.

Victor, however, already had a target.

He directly opened the store for the DC Universe plane—before his transmigration, DC's "Aquaman" was very popular—but "Aquaman" being popular had nothing to do with Victor.

He didn't intend to exchange for Aquaman's abilities—he was still single-handedly hammered by Superman in "Justice League"!

That's right!

Victor was a mad Superman worshipper, and even a close friend of Henry Cavill in his previous life.

When he became familiar with the platform, the first thing he searched for was Superman's abilities.

(The previous 10 billion for "Dragon Ball" has been changed to 100 million. I forgot to change it when revising the outline and just copied and pasted.)

The description of "Superman Bloodline" was simple, but every word conveyed the message, "I am awesome."

The price was equally "awesome."

Victor naturally never thought of relying on words to get someone to invest in a complete "Superman Bloodline" for him; even if they were willing, he wouldn't accept it—it was like equity, the larger the financing ratio, the less autonomy one had.

The reason he decided on this "Superman Bloodline" was because this plane merchant supported "installment purchase."

It was "installment purchase," not "installment payment."
