Prologue

It started with an auto ride — just an ordinary, noisy morning, the kind where the city honked louder than my thoughts. He sat there, smirking like the world existed just to amuse him, and somehow that one smirk changed everything.

It wasn't love at first sight. It wasn't even close. It was war — a series of stolen glances, sarcastic comments, and accidental touches that felt far too intentional. Every argument was a challenge, every eye contact a dare neither of us wanted to lose.

We went from competing in state-level competitiond to pretending not to care. From late-night texts about feelings to calls that lasted until dawn. From "I hate you" to "you drive me insane" — which, in our language, meant the same thing as I love you.

And somehow, in between all the teasing, chaos, and silent confessions, he became mine. I wore his hoodie before I wore his last name. I learned his silences before I learned his promises.

It started with an auto ride and ended with his last name printed neatly on my passport — proof of a story that was never supposed to happen.

Now, every memory of him feels like a bruise I keep pressing on.

I hate that I can't stop thinking about him.

I hate that I love him.

And most of all—

I hate him for making me believe that we were forever.

Hope you liked the intro of our main characters!!
