Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Sami

Near the tree that now bore a deep mark from his last punch, Sami stood calmly, admiring his handiwork. The gentle breeze carried the scent of blooming flowers, and the soft rustling of the grass blades seemed to celebrate his small victory. Sami's eyes lingered on the tree for a moment before he shifted his gaze to the horizon, where the sun was rising, casting a warm glow over the landscape.

"I've been training too much," Sami thought to himself, a hint of pride in his voice. He looked down at his sweat-stained clothes and smiled. "I need to change into something clean and check on Grandfather."

As he turned to leave, Sami took a deep breath, feeling the cool air fill his lungs. He walked away from the tree, the sound of his footsteps crunching on the grass beneath his feet.

...

At the edge of the market, Sami approached his home, a small, rustic house with a thatched roof and wooden walls. The door creaked as he opened it, and Sami smiled, feeling a sense of familiarity and comfort.

Inside, the house was cool and quiet, the high ceiling providing shade from the sun. Sami walked up the creaky stairs to his room, the sound of his footsteps echoing through the house. His room was simple, with a wooden bed and a small desk. The window was open, allowing a gentle breeze to rustle the curtains.

"I hope Grandfather won't be too upset about my clothes," Sami thought, chuckling to himself as he changed into a fresh set of clothes.

...

The market was quieting down, the vendors packing up their stalls and the customers dwindling. Hajj Khalid was among those finishing up, his face flushed from the heat. He wiped the sweat from his brow, surveying the market with a sense of satisfaction.

"It looks like the workday is over," he said to himself, starting to gather his belongings.

Just then, a loud voice called out, "Grandfather!" Hajj Khalid's eyes lit up as he saw Sami running towards him. "Ah, Sami!" he exclaimed, setting down his box and waiting for his grandson to arrive.

Sami ran towards him, his feet pounding the ground. "I'm coming, Grandfather!" he shouted, drawing the attention of the remaining vendors.

As Sami approached, a flock of seagulls took flight, squawking in protest. Sami slowed down, looking up at them with a mixture of amusement and apology. "Sorry, guys. No time to waste!" he said, before continuing on his way to Hajj Khalid.
