File ID: KAC-777
Designation: "Seven Minutes of Heaven," "The Seventh Heaven Event"
Threat Level: Category 3
Status: Uncontained / Recurring Phenomenon
Discovering Officer: Overseer Delta
World of Origin: Unknown
[OVERVIEW]
(NOTE: KAC-777 is not presently classified as openly hostile. This distinction should not be mistaken for safety. The phenomenon has demonstrated the ability to remove sentient beings from conventional spacetime, subject them to potentially centuries or millennia of subjective existence, and return them approximately seven minutes after disappearance with their physical bodies largely unchanged.)
KAC-777 is the designation assigned to a recurring temporal-metaphysical phenomenon in which one or more individuals abruptly disappear from conventional reality for exactly seven minutes.
No known method of resisting, preventing, intercepting, or following the disappearance has proven successful.
Affected individuals, hereafter designated KAC-777-A subjects, invariably reappear at or extremely near the position from which they vanished.
From an external perspective, precisely seven minutes have elapsed.
From the perspective of the returned subject, however, considerably longer periods are reported.
The shortest verified subjective duration is approximately thirty-seven years.
The longest coherent testimony obtained from a KAC-777-A subject describes approximately eight hundred and eleven thousand years.
Despite this, returned subjects exhibit no corresponding biological aging.
Nearly all subjects describe having spent the missing duration within a location they independently identify as some variation of:
Heaven.
This terminology is used regardless of the subject's religion, culture, species, cosmology, prior beliefs, or lack thereof.
The location described by KAC-777-A subjects does not consistently correspond to any known religious afterlife.
Rather, each individual appears to encounter a world specifically structured around their personal conception of an ideal existence.
Dead relatives may be present.
Lost civilizations may exist intact.
Regrets may have never occurred.
Loved ones may never have died.
Unfulfilled ambitions may already have been accomplished.
Subjects report experiencing hunger, sleep, relationships, work, recreation, aging without physical deterioration, intellectual development, artistic creation, intimacy, conflict, reconciliation, and entire social histories while within the phenomenon.
Most significantly:
KAC-777-A subjects consistently insist that the experience was real.
Not a vision.
Not a dream.
Not hallucination.
Not mental manipulation.
They report having lived there.
For years.
Centuries.
Sometimes longer.
Then, without warning, they return.
Seven minutes after they vanished.
[DISCOVERY]
Date of Discovery: ████████
Location: Earth Variation ████████
Incident Report:
KAC-777 first entered official KAC documentation following the disappearance of seventeen civilians during a metropolitan railway malfunction.
At 18:42 local time, electrical systems throughout Station ████████ failed.
Security footage recorded seventeen passengers standing on Platform Four simultaneously disappearing.
No flash.
No distortion.
No measurable energy discharge.
No spatial rupture.
One frame contained seventeen people.
The next contained none.
Emergency services initially suspected an anomalous abduction event.
Exactly seven minutes later, all seventeen individuals reappeared.
Their positions were nearly identical to those recorded prior to disappearance.
Several collapsed immediately.
Two began screaming.
One attempted to embrace a woman standing beside him whom he had never met.
Three repeatedly demanded to know where their children were.
One elderly male began praying despite medical records and family testimony describing him as a lifelong atheist.
Another subject assaulted responding medical staff when informed that only seven minutes had elapsed.
The seventeen testimonies initially appeared contradictory.
Subject 777-A-01 claimed to have spent approximately forty years in a coastal city with his deceased wife.
Subject 777-A-04 reported living nearly one hundred and twelve years in an unfamiliar civilization in which she became an architect.
Subject 777-A-09 claimed to have experienced no human society whatsoever, instead living alone within a mountainous wilderness for what he estimated to be six centuries.
Subject 777-A-12 described approximately twenty-three thousand years of existence.
He refused to elaborate.
The event would initially have been classified as an isolated temporal displacement had investigators not discovered one recurring statement.
When separately asked where they had been, fifteen of the seventeen subjects used some variation of:
"Heaven."
The remaining two initially denied this terminology.
Both later admitted they had avoided the word because they believed using it would make them sound insane.
KAC involvement was authorized after Subject 777-A-07 correctly described a deceased younger brother whose existence had been deliberately concealed from her by her parents and erased from accessible family records following his death in infancy.
She stated that she had spent seventy-three years with him.
Three months after the station incident, KAC detected a second event on another world.
Nine disappearances.
Seven minutes.
All returned.
The pattern has continued since.
[DESCRIPTION]
KAC-777 possesses no stable physical manifestation.
There is no confirmed entity, structure, artifact, location, signal, or environmental trigger associated with the phenomenon.
Subjects simply disappear.
Instrumental observation has proven unusually uninformative.
Thermal cameras register instantaneous absence.
Gravitational sensors detect no meaningful displacement.
Temporal instrumentation records no local chronal distortion.
Soul-state monitoring has produced contradictory results.
In several cases, the individual's biological body, consciousness, soul-signature, conceptual identity, and informational pattern all disappear simultaneously.
In others, equipment briefly indicates that the individual remains physically present despite all conventional observation demonstrating otherwise.
These readings have yet to be reconciled.
KAC-777-A subjects generally return physically unchanged.
Clothing returns with them.
Possessions held at the instant of disappearance also return.
Objects obtained within KAC-777 ordinarily do not.
There are exceptions.
Recovered items include:
a wedding ring made from an unidentified gold-like element
a handwritten letter composed in a language belonging to no documented human civilization
three flower petals containing impossible cellular structures
a child's wooden figurine
a polished stone exhibiting no measurable anomalous properties
and a photograph depicting Subject 777-A-44 surrounded by approximately forty individuals whom the subject identified as descendants
Subject 777-A-44 had been unmarried and twenty-six years old at the time of disappearance.
Genetic analysis of skin cells found embedded in the photograph confirmed partial hereditary relationship between the photographed individuals and Subject 777-A-44.
No corresponding individuals have been located.
The photograph remains under Level ██████ restriction.
[NATURE]
The precise nature of KAC-777 remains disputed.
Current theories include:
Temporal Acceleration
Subjects are transported into a region where subjective time progresses enormously faster than baseline reality.
This fails to explain the individualized environment or appearance of deceased individuals.
Constructed Afterlife
KAC-777 may represent access to an actual metaphysical afterlife structure.
This fails to explain why living individuals can enter and return.
Wish-Reality Formation
Subjects may be placed into temporary realities generated from memory, desire, regret, and personal identity.
This remains one of the leading models.
Parallel-Life Selection
KAC-777 may transfer individuals into alternate histories where circumstances aligned more closely with their desired lives.
This cannot account for subjects encountering impossible individuals or environments without known alternate equivalents.
External Intelligence
The phenomenon may be operated by an unknown entity deliberately constructing personalized environments.
There is currently insufficient evidence to confirm motive.
Post-Mortem Temporal Leakage
The most controversial theory proposes that KAC-777 does not send subjects anywhere.
Instead, subjects briefly experience whatever awaits them after their eventual deaths before being returned to the earlier point in their lives.
No mechanism explaining such an effect is presently known.
A seventh theory was proposed following Incident 777-19.
It has been restricted to Overseer clearance.
Incident 777-19
Subject 777-A-103 disappeared during routine containment duties.
Upon return, he immediately asked to speak with Overseer Delta.
The subject reported approximately four hundred and nine subjective years within KAC-777.
Unlike previous subjects, however, his environment had eventually begun deteriorating.
People became less responsive.
The sky stopped changing.
Food lost taste.
Animals disappeared.
Entire neighborhoods became empty.
By approximately Year 300, Subject 777-A-103 believed himself to be the only conscious individual remaining.
He traveled across the environment for decades.
Eventually he discovered what he described as:
"the edge."
Beyond it existed a white expanse.
Within the expanse stood seven doorways.
Six were closed.
The seventh was open.
Subject 777-A-103 reported seeing an unidentified humanoid standing beyond it.
He asked the figure:
"What is this place?"
The entity allegedly responded:
"Yours."
The subject then asked:
"Did you make it?"
The response:
"No."
Subject 777-A-103 asked:
"Then who did?"
The figure looked directly at him.
According to the subject, this was the first moment in more than four centuries that he experienced genuine fear.
The figure answered:
"You did."
Subject 777-A-103 immediately returned to baseline reality.
Exactly seven minutes had elapsed.
[PERSONNEL DIALOGUE: TRANSCRIPT EXCERPT: SUBJECT 777-A-103]
Overseer Delta: You believe you created the environment?
Subject 777-A-103: I don't know.
Overseer Delta: You lived there for four centuries.
Subject 777-A-103: Yes.
Overseer Delta: Did it feel real?
Subject 777-A-103: Stop asking us that.
Overseer Delta: Explain.
Subject 777-A-103: Every person who comes back gets asked whether it felt real. You want us to say no. You want hallucination. Psychosis. Temporal simulation. Something clean enough to put inside a report.
Overseer Delta: And?
Subject 777-A-103: I remember my wife.
Overseer Delta: You aren't married.
Subject 777-A-103: Here.
Overseer Delta: What was her name?
Subject 777-A-103: Mara.
Overseer Delta: She doesn't exist.
Subject 777-A-103: She laughed when she was nervous. She hated rain but loved thunderstorms. She couldn't cook anything without burning it. She used to put her feet on me when she slept because they were always cold. We argued about where to live for nine years. We raised three children. I buried her after one hundred and twenty-eight years together.
Overseer Delta: ██████—
Subject 777-A-103: Don't tell me she didn't exist because your machines can't find her.
Overseer Delta: Then what do you believe happened?
Subject 777-A-103: I think I died.
Overseer Delta: Medical monitoring proves otherwise.
Subject 777-A-103: No. You don't understand.
Overseer Delta: Then help me understand.
Subject 777-A-103: I think for seven minutes, this was the afterlife.
Overseer Delta: And the four hundred years?
Subject 777-A-103: Maybe Heaven doesn't care what a minute is.
[EFFECTS/ABILITIES]
KAC-777 demonstrates the following confirmed anomalous properties:
Absolute Seven-Minute Duration:
Every verified event lasts precisely seven baseline minutes regardless of the number of subjects, location, world, species, or apparent subjective duration.
Subjective Temporal Expansion:
KAC-777-A subjects experience years, centuries, millennia, or potentially greater spans during the seven-minute interval.
No consistent conversion ratio exists.
Personalized Ideal Environment:
The destination adapts heavily to the psychological identity of the subject. It frequently manifests lost loved ones, desired circumstances, unrealized ambitions, and environments associated with emotional fulfillment.
Autonomous Population Generation:
Individuals encountered within the phenomenon behave as independent conscious persons according to subjects. They display memories, desires, disagreements, personal growth, and behaviors the subject claims not to have anticipated.
Whether these entities possess genuine consciousness remains unresolved.
Memory Preservation:
Returned subjects retain extensive memories of their subjective lives.
This presents severe psychological complications.
A person may return physically twenty years old while carrying several centuries of lived experience.
Physical Stasis:
Subjects show little or no biological aging corresponding to subjective duration.
Cross-Religious Adaptability:
The phenomenon does not require prior belief in Heaven, divinity, souls, or an afterlife.
Atheistic individuals are affected equally.
Non-human species have also experienced individualized variants.
Material Leakage:
Objects from within KAC-777 have occasionally crossed into baseline reality.
The mechanism governing which objects can return remains unknown.
Deceased-Person Reconstruction:
Subjects frequently encounter dead individuals displaying knowledge not consciously available to the subject.
This has provided previously unknown information later confirmed by investigation.
Selection Unpredictability:
No statistically reliable pattern has been found regarding who is selected.
Age, species, morality, religiosity, psychological state, geographic position, and anomalous status show no consistent correlation.
[BEHAVIOUR]
Whether KAC-777 possesses behavior in the conventional sense remains unknown.
The phenomenon appears neither openly benevolent nor overtly malicious.
Most environments initially provide significant emotional fulfillment.
Subjects report love.
Peace.
Achievement.
Belonging.
Closure.
Some describe KAC-777 as the happiest experience of their existence.
This does not prevent severe psychological harm upon return.
KAC-777-A subjects may awaken from what they perceive as centuries of life to discover:
their spouses do not exist
their children were never born
their friends are strangers
their accomplishments never occurred
civilizations they knew intimately are nonexistent
languages they spoke for centuries are meaningless
and their physical bodies belong to individuals they barely remember being
Several subjects experience baseline reality as the false world rather than KAC-777.
Suicide attempts among returned subjects are significantly elevated.
Of particular concern is the emergence of the Return Belief.
A minority of subjects believe death will permanently return them to KAC-777.
There is no evidence supporting this claim.
KAC psychological teams are prohibited from presenting death as a method of re-entry under any circumstances.
Not all subjects desire to return.
A smaller percentage demonstrate extreme fear at the possibility.
When questioned, these individuals often refuse to explain what occurred during the later portions of their experience.
One recurring statement has appeared across twenty-one unrelated subjects:
"Heaven was perfect until I stayed too long."
[CONTAINMENT]
KAC-777 cannot presently be contained.
No known structure prevents activation.
No antimemetic, temporal, spatial, conceptual, theological, technological, or magical containment method has demonstrated effectiveness.
Current containment protocol therefore prioritizes:
immediate quarantine of returned subjects
full psychological stabilization
prohibition of unsupervised theological interrogation
documentation of subjective chronology
verification of information learned within KAC-777
monitoring for foreign matter
and prevention of self-harm following reappearance
Personnel are prohibited from referring to KAC-777 as definitive proof of an afterlife.
Personnel are likewise prohibited from dismissing subjects' experiences as unreal without psychological authorization.
Attempting to forcibly invalidate decades or centuries of perceived lived experience has resulted in multiple violent incidents.
Any KAC employee disappearing under suspected KAC-777 conditions is to have their workstation, quarters, relationships, active assignments, family records, and psychological profile preserved without alteration until return.
Remember:
From our perspective, they have been gone seven minutes.
From theirs, everyone they currently love may have been dead for five hundred years.
[NEUTRALIZATION]
Not authorized.
Neutralization methodology is presently nonexistent.
Furthermore, the KAC Ethics Division has challenged whether neutralization would be justified even if achievable.
KAC-777 has directly caused severe psychological trauma.
It has also provided subjects with experiences they describe as meaningful beyond comparison.
Several returned subjects have begged the KAC not to destroy the phenomenon.
Others have begged the KAC to do exactly that.
The organization presently lacks sufficient understanding to determine whether KAC-777 constitutes:
a predatory anomaly
an uncontrolled metaphysical system
an accidental temporal phenomenon
a naturally occurring afterlife mechanism
a consciousness-generated reality
or something else entirely
No action against KAC-777 is authorized without Overseer Council approval.
[ADDENDUM 777-A: THE CHILD INCIDENT]
KAC-777-A-211 was six years old at time of disappearance.
The subject vanished while under medical observation following a minor anomalous exposure.
Seven minutes later, she returned.
Unlike most subjects, she displayed no immediate distress.
When asked where she had been, she replied:
"I grew up."
The child claimed to have lived approximately seventy-eight years.
She described attending school, becoming a physician, marrying, adopting two children, retiring, and eventually dying peacefully while surrounded by family.
Psychological testing produced results inconsistent with those expected from a six-year-old child.
The subject demonstrated emotional regulation, vocabulary, medical knowledge, and autobiographical memory more characteristic of an elderly adult.
When shown her biological parents, she began crying.
Her mother attempted to comfort her.
The subject responded:
"I'm sorry. I know you're my mom. I just haven't seen you since I was little."
The mother answered:
"You are little."
The child reportedly stared at her hands for approximately twenty seconds.
She then began screaming.
Subject remains under long-term KAC psychological care.
[ADDENDUM 777-B: RECOVERED MESSAGE]
Following Event 777-███, Subject 777-A-300 returned holding a folded piece of paper.
The material resembled standard paper but could not be matched to any manufacturing process.
The subject claimed the note had been handed to him by an elderly woman shortly before his return.
He did not recognize her.
The message contained seven lines:
YOU CALL IT HEAVEN BECAUSE YOU NEED A WORD.
YOU CALL SEVEN MINUTES SHORT BECAUSE YOU LIVE BESIDE CLOCKS.
YOU CALL THOSE PEOPLE FALSE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT HERE.
THEY SAY THE SAME ABOUT YOU.
DO NOT MISTAKE RETURNING FOR WAKING.
DO NOT MISTAKE DYING FOR RETURNING.
AND DO NOT OPEN THE SEVENTH DOOR.
No subject had publicly disclosed the existence of the seven doors recorded during Incident 777-19.
Investigation ongoing.
[NOTES BY OVERSEER DELTA]
"Everyone keeps asking the wrong question.
They ask whether Heaven is real.
That is a theological question, and I am not interested in theology.
The question that matters to the KAC is much simpler:
Where are these people going?
I've interviewed soldiers who watched civilizations collapse. I've spoken with men who survived temporal loops long enough to forget their original names. I've seen entities that remember worlds erased before humanity learned to make fire.
The people who come back from KAC-777 disturb me more.
Not because they are broken.
Many aren't.
Some are kinder.
Some are wiser.
Some return having spent centuries learning things that would require dozens of normal lifetimes.
What frightens me is the grief.
You cannot fake that kind of grief consistently.
I've watched a nineteen-year-old man mourn a wife he remembers loving for eighty years.
I've watched a child ask for grandchildren who were never born.
I've watched an atheist spend three hours crying because she had finally made peace with her dead father, only to discover she was back in the world where they never reconciled.
Either KAC-777 is capable of constructing false lives with enough detail to become indistinguishable from reality...
...or those lives are not false.
I don't know which possibility is worse.
There is one more issue.
The seven-minute duration has never changed.
Not once.
Seven minutes.
Seven doors.
Seven lines in the recovered message.
The designation KAC-777 was originally selected as a joke by an archivist because of the phrase 'Seven Minutes of Heaven.'
I no longer believe the number was our idea."
