Chapter 14 - The Empires’ Wrath

The winds carried the scent of smoke and fear across Aurelia. From the distant highlands to the sprawling plains, towns and villages trembled beneath a gathering dread. The Scarlet Court had awakened — and with it, the age of gods and mortals drew its battle lines once more.Kaelthar Voidreign, the Progenitor of Shadow, and Lirae of the Scarlet Veil had risen from myth to nightmare, leaving trails of devastation wherever they passed. Rivers ran black, forests groaned beneath invisible weight, and mountains bowed under unseen power.

In the heart of the Solvaran Empire, Emperor Kael Veynor strode through his golden halls, his aura burning with near-divine brilliance. Walls trembled as he spoke, voice carrying across the citadel like thunder."Call every general, every hero, every ancient weapon," he commanded. "Every wall, every ward, every army must converge. We strike before the progenitor consolidates further. If we delay… Aurelia is lost."

Across the continent, the Eryndor Empire's floating sanctum blazed with arcane light. Empress Lyra Thane's sorcery reached demigod potency, her voice echoing through enchanted towers."Let the rivers of fire and ice flow," she whispered. "Let the skies themselves rain fury upon the Scarlet Court."

From the northern peaks, King Rydan Valehart of Vardal rallied his cavalry and Legendary archers, their auras blazing like living suns. "Every horse, every blade, every arrow carries our resolve," he roared. "Even legends can bleed!"

And in the southern seas, Admiral Selene Marrow of Cindral summoned her navy. Leviathan wards rose from the depths, churning the tides, while storm clouds gathered at her call. "The oceans themselves will drown those who threaten Aurelia. Let the Scarlet Court witness the wrath of the seas."

Word spread beyond men. The Silvarien Elves activated wards deep in their forests; the Dark Elves of Noxshade vanished into shadow, sowing sabotage and whispers. The Infernal Dominion lit their pyres of chaos, while ancient dragons stirred from slumber, their roars shaking mountain spines. Even lesser gods stirred — wary of the force that rivaled their kind.

At last, the armies of the four empires converged upon the Solvaran Plains — a sea of steel, banners, and shimmering magic. Tens of thousands stood ready. Wards glowed across the land, siege engines rumbled, and the very hills quaked beneath the march of united might.

From the shadows of the forest's edge, Kaelthar watched, crimson eyes glimmering. Lirae stood beside him, her aura coiling like living flame."They move too predictably," Kaelthar murmured. "Legends, demigods… yet they march as one. Let us remind them what true power is."

A flick of his hand — and the air screamed. Shadows erupted like serpents, tearing through cavalry lines. Rivers boiled, the ground split, and screams filled the plains.Lirae moved with deadly grace, her scarlet veil flaring — every gesture dissolving battalions, every breath weaving ruin.

The empires answered in kind.Emperor Kael Veynor unleashed waves of golden aura, each pulse cracking mountains. Empress Lyra's storms of fire, lightning, and frost descended like divine wrath. King Rydan's cavalry surged in radiant trails, splitting the battlefield in thunderous charges. Admiral Selene's Leviathan wards summoned tidal surges across the rivers, striking Kaelthar's shadows with unrelenting force.

The world trembled beneath them. Mountains fractured. Rivers reversed. Forests ignited. The sky itself twisted into chaos — light and darkness locked in an endless storm.Mortals called it battle; the gods called it apocalypse.

Kaelthar's laughter rolled like thunder. "Impressive," he said softly. "But they lack understanding. Power is not destruction — it is creation unrestrained."Lirae's eyes burned scarlet. "Then let them witness it."

Their auras flared, merging — shadow and crimson entwined. Reality warped, plains buckled, and the air screamed. Lightning shattered across continents as their combined power tore at the seams of existence.

Emperor Veynor raised his blade high, light blazing like a sun. "Strike where they falter!" he roared. "Even gods can bleed!"Lyra's magic clashed with Kaelthar's essence directly, the collision painting the skies in madness — fire and shadow, ice and blood, thunder and silence.

King Rydan charged through the maelstrom, banners aflame, his warcry echoing through the storm: "For Aurelia!"Selene's voice rose from the sea winds: "For the living world!"

And so the first clash between the Scarlet Court and the united empires began — a battle that would scar continents, forge legends, and awaken fears even the gods had forgotten.

The skies burned red that day.The earth wept. And the world learned the name of its doom.

The Empires' Wrath had begun.
