"Mom, um... I'm not coming home today..."
For Hitori Gotoh to proactively say such things to her mother on the phone was no different from indirectly telling her that she was going to have wild sex with her boyfriend all night, and thus wouldn't be returning.
If Mom points it out, my life is over...
Michiyo Gotoh chuckled and admonished her daughter with the tone of someone who has been there before, "Busy, being busy is good. Just remember to bring an 'umbrella'."
"Jhin, Mom said we should bring an umbrella." Hitori Gotoh completely failed to understand her mother's implicit meaning and tilted her head in confusion. "Is it going to rain today?"
Jhin heard their conversation clearly. With a wicked smile, he whispered to his girlfriend explaining what the 'umbrella' really was, staring as her small, pale face turned from white to red, until she finally shot him a shy glare.
"D-Do we need to buy some?" Hitori Gotoh was exceptionally proactive today.
Jhin feigned mystery and brought up a completely irrelevant topic. "Back when I played games, a friend asked me if a mage character is better off with the Witch Protection, the Severed Fate Protection, or some other protection gear. Guess how I answered?"
A mage character... sounds like they should choose the protection that best fits their class.
Hitori Gotoh hadn't played many games, so she could only rely on the names to make a choice. "The Witch Protection?"
Jhin smiled faintly, revealing his clean, white teeth. "I don't use protection."
Hitori Gotoh seemed to understand something and voluntarily took a few steps away from Jhin, looking around to see if anyone had noticed their conversation. Then, feeling her behavior might cause a misunderstanding, she hurriedly stuffed her hand into Jhin's left palm.
"T-Then... let's go..."
Bocchi-chan, why do I feel like you're even more impatient than I am?
Jhin added another impression of his girlfriend being fond of lewd things—but who wouldn't like a girlfriend like that? The day she wears a maid outfit is just around the corner!
The two arrived at the... fast food restaurant from their first date. Coincidentally, the staff and passersby were the same ones from that day, and they all howled in their hearts.
Not that couple again... and they're sitting in the same seats! I don't want to eat dog food! Dammit!
Jhin took out his vibrating phone. The Kessoku Band group chat had already exploded with who knew how many messages.
Nijika: "Ehhhh!? What's the situation?"
Ryo: "Getting dog food early in the morning, I can save money on breakfast."
Kita: "Bocchi-chan, that's great! Your dream finally came true!"
Seika Ijichi, wearing black and white cat pajamas, walked out of the bedroom sleepily. Seeing the happy yet surprised expression on her sister's face as she held her phone, she asked curiously, "Nijika, what happened?"
"Big Sister, Bocchi-chan and Jhin got married."
"Oh, those two got married." Seika Ijichi took two steps toward the kitchen before doubting her own ears. She spun around to look at her sister. "What did you say?"
"Married! Look, this is the photo Bocchi-chan sent." Nijika opened the image and held up the phone so her sister could see clearly.
"This is... the Ward Office. They really went to register their marriage. As expected of young people, their drive is impressive." Seika Ijichi sighed with emotion, then glanced at the kitchen. "Nijika, where's breakfast?"
"Ah! I was so busy chatting with them, I'll go make it right now!"
...
Ryo: "Kita, when did you start calling her Bocchi-chan?"
Kita: "Hehe, after watching Big Sister Hiroi's concert with everyone earlier."
Ichi-chan: "Showing everyone our marriage registration form. [Image]"
Kita: "So that's what it looks like. It's my first time seeing one."
Jhin: "It's my first time seeing one too, but this is the commemorative edition given by the Ward Office. The original is very plain."
Ryo: "So you guys are at the Ward Office right now?"
Ichi-chan: "Ah, we're eating. [Image]"
Kita: "Bocchi-chan is actually taking photos and talking so frequently. She seems quite happy."
Ryo: "Indeed, but why does it look like the same place as your first date?"
Jhin: "Even the seats are exactly the same."
Nijika: "Seriously?!"
Ryo: "Where did you go? You haven't spoken in ages."
Nijika: "I was chatting with you guys and forgot to make breakfast."
Kita: "Since you two have already registered your marriage, have you decided when to hold the wedding?"
Jhin: "Let's wait until Bocchi-chan graduates high school."
Ichi-chan: "I want to drop out..."
Jhin: "No!"
The two chatted with the rest of Kessoku Band while eating. Jhin fed the last french fry to Hitori Gotoh, then wiped his hands with a tissue. "Bocchi-chan, let's go to the hotel."
"Ah, o-okay..." Hitori Gotoh's face flushed red as a ripe apple, and she lowered her head in agreement.
The beauty is shy, her jade body reclining, intoxicating to behold.
Spring is in the air, her moans eroding the bones with their softness.
The next day, Jhin escorted Hitori Gotoh, whose legs were weak, back home. At the door, he handed the marriage registration form and the potted plant to her. "Bocchi-chan, don't lose these."
Hitori Gotoh took a deep breath to calm her emotions, accepting them cautiously as if they were fragile valuables. "I will put them both in the safe."
"No need to put them in a safe," Jhin laughed, stroking the smooth hair at her temples and admonishing her, "Let the potted plant see some light on the table. I'm heading off now."
"Mn." Hitori Gotoh watched Jhin leave before ringing the doorbell. "Mom, open the door!"
Michiyo Gotoh opened the door, revealing a surprised expression. "Hitori, where did that potted plant in your hand come from?"
"The Ward Office gave it to us."
"The Ward Office? What did you go to the Ward Office for?"
"Hmm?" Hitori Gotoh blinked in confusion, looking at her mother as she answered matter-of-factly, "I went to register my marriage with Jhin."
"You child, what nonsense are you talking again? You and Jhin are both only sixteen, how could you register a marriage?" Michiyo Gotoh figured Jhin must have taken her daughter for a stroll around the Ward Office just to satisfy her, and she had mistakenly thought that counted as getting married.
That's right, Jhin and I are both sixteen. How exactly did we register our marriage?
Hitori Gotoh walked into her room in a daze. It wasn't until she placed the potted plant on the table that she remembered.
Don't I still have the marriage registration form?
She hurriedly checked the marriage registration form in her pocket. It lay quietly in her clothes, just as before. Hitori Gotoh solemnly opened it; it was exactly the same as in her memories from yesterday. This confused her even more.
How on earth did we register our marriage yesterday?
Hitori Gotoh suddenly remembered the wish she had once made at the shrine, and her small mouth fell open in shock. "Could it be Lord God..."
Hitori Gotoh later asked the rest of her family and discovered that none of them remembered her registering her marriage with Jhin yesterday. Terrified, she called Jhin to verify if he had forgotten. Fortunately, Jhin remembered the events of yesterday just as she did, which put her mind at ease.
Gazing at the magnificent marriage registration form on the table, it looked like a brilliant treasure that would never fade. It made Hitori Gotoh firmly believe that her feelings for Jhin would not be influenced by anything—because their future had already been ordained by God.
