Chapter 70 - CH 70 Not going back

In the darkness again, which is not suppose to be called his dreamland, Zayden arrived.

"Oh my god!" he exclaimed as he walked "His dream is still dark!"

"Zayden...." Ryan called out to him. Only the area which he sat was shining gold.

"Oh! Hi brother" he waved "Damnit! I can't even see you clearly" he walked to where his figure sat "I told you, have some torchlight in here!"

"You can't be serious. How can I have a torchlight in my dream?"

"It's easy. Just let your heart accept one" Zayden replied and sat beside him.

"Say the main reason why you're here" Ryan demanded.

"I came to see my brother. Also to know if they're any changes" Zayden said nonchalantly. But Ryan didn't really get what he said.

"They are no changes. It's just pitch black in here" he said and Zayden smiled. He doesn't seem to understand.

"So.... You just sit in this darkness the whole night?"

"Yeah" Ryan replied. His voice showed he was so tired, but what can he do? "But.... Last night felt different"

"Like...how" Zayden asked, hoping to be what he was thinking.

"I don't know. I can't explain. It just felt different" he said. He could remember last night he held her tightly in his arms, drinking her scent continuously. Was it because of her?

"I think I smell it too" Zayden voiced as he surveyed the area. "The last time I was here, your dream was darker than this. And this scent wasn't around. Or is it you?"

"What scent?"

"The area smells like.... roses. And peach blossoms" he said.

"Roses?" Ryan raised a brow.

"Yeah....." he inhaled the air. "I think....were in a garden filled with red roses. Do you know red rose symbolises love?"

How could he ask him that? Does he think he doesn't know at all?

"Wait.... Are you in love, Ryan?" he put more emphasis on the word.

Ryan tilted head to the side "Am I?"

"That's when it smells like" he inhaled "like you're in love" he breathed, with a grin that couldn't be seen.

"I'm not" he denied.

"C'mon. You can't tell me that beautiful gem isn't attractive. After everything"

"I have no idea what you're talking about"

"Aish!" Zayden almost slapped him "it's okay. I'll find out on my own"

Ryan rolled his eyes and looked at him "Wait, is that a new haircut I see?" He asked

"Of course" he rubbed his hair stylishly "what do you think?"

"It suits you"

"Thanks" he smiled.

They stayed quite for a while, listening to nothing.

"Father received your letter" Zayden broke the silence.

"Oh, great"

"Jeez brother, how could send that?!"

"I told you I will so I did" was his response "it's your right anyways" Zayden just stared. This brother of his. He wondered if he ever had something that should be his from the beginning. He doesn't have any right on most things, at all. Since the beginning.

"Even if he wants to crown me, I don't want it. Even if I get freed now, I'm not going back"

"Wait, you don't want to go back?"

"I'm not going back, Zayden"

"Why?"

"I don't want to. Simple"

"Then what about us? Your family who've been waiting for you for centuries! What about us?" he couldn't help but raise his voice.

"You can come to me whenever to you want. But I'm not going back. I'll rather stay, where I can do want I want, and go wherever I want to" his mind was made up. There's no going back.

"Then I'll come live with you" Zayden smiled "Yana might buy the idea as well"

"So what about the throne?" Ryan asked with creased brows.

"I don't want it" he replied.

"So suddenly?"

"Yeah. I don't want something that would make me have thoughts of killing my 'only' brother" he said, gazing into nothingness.

"Really" Ryan raised a brow. What a waste of time helping this idiot. He shouldn't have written that letter, and sending it there. Aish!! "So you what the hyeanas to have it?" He questioned.

"Nah..... Father could rule for the rest of his life. I'm longer interested."

"Give me another reason why you're not" he couldn't just accept the first reason. It's totally not it.

Zayden's lips stretched into a smile "I... found.... my own gem." he said.

Ryan blinked twice, his mouth falling open "What?!"

"You found your gem and you're with it. Tell me why I shouldn't be with mine?" His voice was low, sounding like what he wanted was almost impossible. But he still wanted it.

"You're insane" Ryan spoke through clenched teeth.

"You get insane when you're in...." he rested his words. This brother of his have no idea about those at all. "Nevermind. You won't understand."

"Anyways, how's Yana?" he asked. He could only ask about her. Whenever he thought about asking about his father, he doesn't know why but he couldn't. The words just felt so heavy.

"She's been sulking all day" he replied

"Why?"

"Well, a general asked for her hand from father, and her answer is yet to be given, and both father and grandmother had been persuading her and seriously she doesn't like this general" he spoke in one breath and Ryan could only part his lips.

"So what do you think about this 'general'?" Ryan asked and he chuckled.

"He's handsome and famous. But truth is....I do not trust him at all" he said sincerely. From the beginning, he never trusted him. No matter how he teased Yana about it. "There's something off about him"

"Why not tell father?"

"I have no evidence to prove anything." he said. "Anyways, I better start going. Morning would come soon"

"Alright. Say hello to Yana for me"

"I will. Also say hello to your.... wife" he grinned and then disappeared. That should do.

But Ryan was in wonder. What does he mean by that?
