His eyes opened, and what welcomed him first, was that loving, peaceful, rosy scent that wafted into his nostrils. He drunk in her scent, inhaling deeply, with a smile. He gazed at her cute face, remembering what she did last night, he smiled again. At that moment, her lashes fluttered, and immediately he closed his eyes. He didn't know why he did that, but... he just did. Her eyes opened and she blinked. She lifted her head and then looked at the man she had held tightly last night. She stared at him, awestruck. Does his beauty add every morning? He looks more beautiful than yesterday. She wanted to keep staring at him, but she just to move from this position. She tried to release herself from his hold, but his grip got tight. She tried again, and deep lines formed on his forehead, as he tightened his grip even more. Is he awake?
"Ryan?" she called him, and man groaned sleepily from the back of his throat. And then he opened his eyes, while the deep lines remained on his forehead, and he eased them up.
"You're awake" he mumbled sleepily, with his eyes half closed.
"Yes." she answered firmly "Because I didn't sleep last night"
Ryan raised a brow "You didn't?"
"Yes. Because you didn't run my hair until I fell asleep. You slept in act. Maybe because you're too lazy" she lied again.
"So you mean you refused to sleep because I didn't rub your hair?"
"Yes"
Ryan stared at her for a while, his gaze expressionless "Do you know what I do to women who lie first thing in the morning? Especially one who stole a kiss from me" his voice was deep and firm. Slightly, somehow, sexy even. Her eyes had grown wide, shocked to her bones. He was aware?! She gulped down the lump in her throat. "I kiss them to death..." Came the answer of his question and a smirk formed on his face.
"What?" Her voice was barely heard.
"You heard me. I. Kiss them. To death...." he breathed, and chills ran down her spine. Ryan flipped, suddenly hovering above her. Her heart thud wildly, as she stared up at his face.
"I... I didn't steal a kiss from you" she stuttered.
"Then what were you doing?" he asked.
"Nothing. And really, I didn't sleep"
"You're still lying..."
"I'm not" one thing she didn't know was that Ryan was already blazing from inside. He hated being lied to, even if it's just something as little as this. It always reminds of that time he was betrayed by someone whom he thought... He exhaled. He shouldn't be thinking of that anymore. His teeth gritted, and he closed his eyes for a few seconds before opening them.
"I would've kissed you to death right now, but I'll just let it slide because I can't afford you dying. Even if I'll have to kill someone to let you live... I'll gladly do it" Her heart fluttered at his words. Is she that special in his eyes or he's just.... "Every word I say, is from my heart" he spoke before she could think anything to cause doubt in his love for her. "But the next time you lie to me...." he rested his words, and she could only but her lips.
*Knock knock knock*
'Oh thank God! You've just saved me from his piercing gaze.' she spoke inwardly. "I'll get the door" she struggled to be free from beneath, but he still pinned her down.
"I'll get it" he said, and rose up. Once he opened the door, Zariel bowed at him.
"Morning, young master"
"Yes, good morning, Ms Jung" he replied lazily, eyes scanning her up and down. "Where are you going?"
She looked down at her clothes, then back to him "Ah... I'm going out on a date" she said, all smiles.
"A date?!"
"Yes. Your breakfast is served. You both hurry up and eat before it gets cold."
Ryan just stared at her with a raised brow. It was hard to predict what he was thinking. "Going out on a date without letting me know beforehand. And you're dressed, telling me now?" his tone was so firm, yet monotonous.
"Sorry. But, I can't cancel this date anymore. The man's just as handsome as you. Or even more" she blinked her eyes.
What is she trying to do? Praise him for his looks so he would give in. A smile went up his face.... "Alright, go then"
"Thank you" she bowed slightly and left. Ryan closed the door and walked back in. Something is missing. Or should he say 'someone' was missing? Where did Ari go?
"Aria?" he called, and then he heard the water from the shower. Oh.. what a great way to escape from him. He sat on the couch with crossed legs, waiting for her while tapping his fingers rhythmically on the couch's arm. He waited for minutes, but it was like she was taking the whole day. Finally, she came out and what welcomed her was Ryan's dangerous smile. Her legs stayed rooted to the ground, and she bit her lips. He stood up, taking steps towards her, one at a time, with hands casually in pockets. Since she was standing by the door, she couldn't move back. His one hand left his pocket, and pulled her to himself by her waist.
"W-what are you doing?" she asked, barely a whisper.
"I was asking earlier..." he began "If you weren't stealing a kiss, then what were you doing?"
"I... I..." she couldn't speak, her heartbeat was so loud in her ears.
"You what?"
"I... I was... " she closed her eyes and the words came out "...kissing you goodnight" she bit her lips and then opened her eyes. She found his face already so closed to hers that she could feel his breath. His gaze was damn so deep as well. Ryan brought his other hand out from his pocket, and he tucked her damp hair behind her ear.
"What are you shy of, girlfriend?"
