Chapter 553 - MTC Chapter 582: Miko: Am I the Only Human in This Car?

Lois's enthusiasm was truly hard to refuse.

Not to mention, Homer had already offered them a large platter of sizzling, freshly grilled hamburger patties.

Unable to decline such overwhelming hospitality, Yang Yi and the girls joined this bizarrely styled barbecue party.

Miko politely accepted a plate of food and subconsciously activated her [Eyes of Truth], wanting to see exactly what kind of background these abnormal "people" had.

With just one glance.

The hand holding her plate froze in midair.

She realized that not a single person here was normal.

That girl wearing the pink beanie, Megan.

Her shadow twisted and writhed continuously on the ground, faintly connecting to some indescribable dimension.

An ancient, chaotic, and terrifying aura was seeping out from that shadow in wisps.

And that boy with exceptionally yellow skin and a head shaped like a scrub brush, Bart.

Behind him, a massive Gate of Hell flickered in and out of existence, as if the entirety of Hell was just his personal backyard where he could call upon his buddies at any time.

As if sensing Miko's gaze, a demon poked its head out from inside and waved a greeting at her.

To her astonishment, Miko noticed that this demon actually had a tattoo of Bart on its body!

Finally, Miko silently withdrew her gaze. She decided it was better to stop looking and just focus on eating. This world was far too complicated.

On the other side, Yang Yi was chatting with the crowd.

"Hello, I'm Yang Yi, an exorcist from the East."

Yang Yi appeared completely at ease. He took a bite of his burger and gave everyone a simple self-introduction.

"I came to America this time mainly to handle some business regarding 'Death'."

"An exorcist?"

Peter's face revealed his curiosity.

"Is that like someone who does magic tricks? Can you conjure up a box of condoms for me? I ran out at home!"

What greeted him next was a flying dropkick from Lois.

Ignoring the couple who had started brawling again, Yang Yi smiled at the eager looks in the children's eyes.

He then set down his plate, raised his hand, and casually grabbed at the empty air.

The next second, a blood-drenched female ghost with a twisted face appeared out of thin air on the lawn. It was none other than the household name of American evil spirits—Bloody Mary.

"See this? This is the famous Bloody Mary!"

"Whoa!"

"That's so cool!"

The children let out excited screams.

"Do you have any others?"

Yang Yi subsequently grabbed a few more. There was the Hook Killer, Chucky, and several other notorious evil spirits.

Finally, Yang Yi reached out and gave a hard yank.

Accompanied by a shrill, miserable shriek, Freddy, wearing his battered fedora, was forcefully dragged out of the Elm Street dream world and sent tumbling pathetically onto the lawn.

Freddy was just about to fly into a rage, but when he saw exactly who had pulled him out, the ferocity on his face was instantly replaced by a strained, constipated smile.

"I-It's you..."

The ghost began to tremble uncontrollably, his bladed glove clacking together and making *clink-clack* sounds.

"Come on, Little Freddy, say hello to the kids."

"G-Good afternoon... everyone..."

Freddy shakily raised his clawed hand and waved at the two excited families.

Afterward, Yang Yi directly stuffed Freddy, along with the other evil spirits, into Miko's Myriad Soul Banner.

This magic trick completely ignited the children's enthusiasm.

"That's so cool! Mister! You just said you're going to New York to fight Death, right? Take us with you!"

Bart was the first to rush forward, hugging Yang Yi's thigh.

"Yeah! We want to go too!"

"We want to fight Death too!"

The others also swarmed up, all expressing their desire to follow Yang Yi on this thrilling "adventure."

"You'll have to ask your parents about that."

Yang Yi pointed to the equally excited parents nearby.

"Of course, no problem! But remember to bring me back a box of New York condoms when you return. I heard they put weed in them over there!"

Peter agreed without a second thought.

"Alright, this will save us a few days of grocery money anyway!"

Homer hesitated for a moment, but seeing the expectant looks in the children's eyes, he agreed as well.

"Space in my car is limited. I can only take two more people at most."

Yang Yi looked at the excited kids. "Draw lots to decide among yourselves."

A moment later, the results of the draw were out.

The "Vessel of the Old God" Megan and the "Son of Hell" Bart luckily won the tickets for this "Death Hunting Trip."

Under the envious and resentful gazes of their siblings, they gleefully boarded the Batmobile.

...

The vehicle was currently driving toward the safe and peaceful New York City.

Inside the Batmobile, the atmosphere was incredibly lively.

Tomie excitedly showed off her weapon and backpack—which could change shapes and skins at will—to her two new companions.

Megan and Bart watched with sparkling stars in their eyes, letting out continuous gasps of amazement.

Only Miko, sitting in the passenger seat, silently rubbed her temples.

Feeling the presence of the three behind her, and then thinking about Yang Yi's abnormal behavior, she had only one thought in her mind.

*Am I the only human in this car?*

*However, I probably don't need to be afraid of Death anymore. Because right now, Death is the one who should be afraid.*

The vehicle traversed the interstate highway and eventually drove into the towering, incredibly bustling New York City.

Seeing such a massive metropolis for the first time, Megan curiously pressed her face against the window, watching everything outside.

Although Miko came from the economically prosperous Tokyo, an even more bustling city like New York still made her feel a great sense of novelty.

As for Tomie, she licked her lips. This city full of monsters was, in her eyes, nothing more than a giant playground.

Upon arriving in New York, Yang Yi dialed his client's number.

From the other end of the line came the anxious voice of a girl named Clear.

Through their conversation, Yang Yi learned that the plot of *Final Destination* had undergone some minor changes.

There were a few more survivors who got off that doomed-to-explode plane than in the original plot.

This also caused the order of Death's list to be affected to a certain extent.

"Death has already made its move."

Clear's voice carried a crying tone.

"The three passengers in the front row all died bizarrely, and yesterday our classmate Tod died in his own bathroom."

"Alex figured out the pattern of death. He said the next target is Terry!"

After getting the address straight, Yang Yi hung up the phone and immediately drove toward the cafe they agreed upon.

A few minutes later, at the outdoor seating area of the cafe, several members of the main cast were gathered together.

"Terry! You have to believe me! You're next! You need to be careful!"

Alex agitatedly grabbed Terry's arm, trying to make her believe his premonition.

"Enough, Alex!"

Terry forcefully shook off his hand, her face full of anger.

"You're cursing me! I don't want to listen to your nonsense anymore!"

With that, she angrily left her seat and walked toward the opposite side of the street without looking back.

Seeing this, Clear hurriedly stood up, wanting to chase after her.

However, the moment she stood up, everyone watched in horror as a city bus hurtled rapidly toward Terry!

Moreover, there was no one on the bus!

"Terry! Get out of the way!!"

The crowd's exclamations were completely blocked out by the headphones Terry had just put on, unable to reach her ears at all.

Seeing that the bus was about to hit her, it seemed everything was too late.

In the nick of time.

*Vroom—Roar—!!!*

The deafening roar of an engine tearing through the air came from the end of the street!

Under everyone's shocked gazes.

A pitch-black Batmobile shot forward, violently slamming into the bus before it could hit her.
