Chapter 568 - MTC Chapter 597: The Descent of the Hellstar, The Mind-Corrupting Legion

One second, the night sky was hung with a crescent moon and stars; the next, it was brutally torn apart by an irresistible, colossal force.

A planet of flesh and blood, as massive as Saturn, squeezed into Earth's orbit.

Defying all known laws of physics, it hovered tyrannically beside Earth, casting a colossal shadow that blotted out the sky.

The planet's surface was covered in a layer of dark red, constantly writhing, viscous flesh. Thick clouds of miasma churned endlessly above it, exuding a nauseating stench.

At the center of this planet, a gigantic yellow eye slowly opened.

This was the Hellstar.

"Roar—!!!"

A bellow mixed with endless fury and defiance erupted from the surface, piercing the heavens.

It was the roar of the Titan gods.

They sensed an unprecedented threat, one that struck at their very biological instincts.

Almost simultaneously, beneath the surface of the Pacific Ocean, Legendary Godzilla, Shin Godzilla, and Godzilla Earth—three of Earth's apex behemoths—raised their heads and roared in unison.

The Hellstar's giant eye seemed to shift slightly, noticing these insignificant "bugs" on the ground.

The flesh on its surface churned violently as a massive rift slowly tore open, revealing a bottomless abyss of darkness beneath.

A colossal, scarlet tongue—large enough to rival half the Earth—slowly extended from the maw. Dripping with viscous saliva, it lashed out to lick the fragile planet.

At that moment, Earth's guardians were thoroughly enraged.

On Cronus's rocky body, the twelve Talismans erupted with dazzling radiance all at once.

In the Pacific, the dorsal fins of the Godzillas lit up, their eerie blue glow practically dyeing the entire night sky a bizarre shade of azure.

The next second, countless devastating atomic breaths blasted against the giant tongue reaching for Earth.

The collision of energies erupted into a silent halo of light in the vacuum of space.

Inside the containment organization's secret Antarctic chamber, the members of the Gay Brotherhood stared intently at the footage transmitted to their screens.

"Boom—!!!"

Bolstered by the near-infinite energy of the Dragon Talisman, the power of the Titans' and behemoths' breaths was magnified thousands of times over.

The Hellstar's giant tongue, possessing the terrifying strength to easily crush continents, was forcefully driven back by the relentless bombardment.

It even left a massive, charred wound billowing with white smoke across the surface of its viscous coating.

"Did it work?"

A hint of relief, like surviving a disaster, had just appeared on a council member's face.

However, the very next second, his smile completely froze.

The Hellstar's scorched tongue retracted into the rift, but the flesh on its surface began to writhe even more violently. Massive pustules rapidly swelled up and then violently burst.

Tens of thousands of slender, twisted, giant humanoid creatures emerged from the ruptured pustules.

Then, in an unimaginable display, the Hellstar directly "hurled" them toward every corner of the Earth at terrifying sub-light speeds.

In an instant, a devastating black meteor shower covering the entire globe tore through the sky.

The Hellstar's method of attack had shifted from a celestial-level disaster to an all-pervasive, twisted legion.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The first batch of monsters smashed ruthlessly into the ground, immediately displaying their despair-inducing, terrifying traits.

An Inner World soldier had just raised his Gauss rifle. An electromagnetic projectile struck a monster's head, blowing it to pieces.

Yet, the headless monster merely swayed. From the stump of its neck, new flesh frantically proliferated, regenerating a perfectly intact head in just a single second.

They were practically immortal.

Even more horrifying, the corpse of a soldier who had been torn apart by a monster's claws suddenly began to convulse violently.

Immediately after, he actually stood back up. Staring at his former comrades with hollow eyes, he raised his weapon.

These monsters could control the creatures they killed.

However, their most deadly weapon was their gaze.

Another Inner World soldier merely made eye contact with one of the monsters for a split second. His pupils instantly dilated, a manic smile spread across his face, and without warning, he began wildly spraying his bolter at his nearby teammates.

"Ah—!"

Screams echoed across battlefields everywhere.

Though the Titans were powerful, they temporarily fell into a bitter struggle against this endless, fearless legion of monsters that could corrupt minds.

Kong, having just arrived on the battlefield, angrily beat his chest and smashed a monster into a bloody pulp with a single punch. But the next second, that puddle of flesh reformed. At the same time, a maddening will surged up his fist, assaulting his mind.

Spooked by this bizarre attack, Kong stumbled backward repeatedly.

High in the sky, the Fire Demon Rodan spewed flames hot enough to melt mountain ranges, engulfing large swaths of monsters. But once the flames died down, those monsters still stood back up from the charred remains.

The Earth Guardian Alliance lost ground steadily from the very moment of contact.

Just as the global battle situation fell into critical peril...

A Red Alert base, brimming with Soviet-style industrial aesthetics, deployed across a wasteland.

Yuri, along with hundreds of identical clones behind him, emerged from the base.

Psionic light flashed in their eyes simultaneously. Surges of powerful, pure mental energy formed an invisible, giant net that instantly enveloped the entire battlefield.

The monsters' mental corruption was precisely intercepted by this far more specialized psychic force.

The Yuris even reverse-controlled a small fraction of the monsters, forcing them to turn around and frantically attack their own kind.

Meanwhile, on another battlefield.

A spatial rift was violently torn open.

A group of Great Nuo Cultivators charged out, carrying their own severed heads, wearing deranged smiles, and humming eerie chants.

They completely ignored the monsters rampaging across the ground. Instead, they raised their heads, gazing up at the Hellstar in the sky with fanatical eyes.

"Nuo! Great Nuo!"

"Transform it into the new Great Nuo, our new home!"

They clamored, actually intending to charge into space and convert the Hellstar into their new dojo.

Their very existence warped reality. Upon coming into contact with the aura they emitted, the bodies of the surrounding monsters began to undergo even more bizarre, indescribable mutations.

The battle across the entire world fell into a state of chaos and stalemate.

And right at this moment, in the sky above the Japanese archipelago, that black "landmass" composed of hundreds of billions of Tomies opened their eyes in unison.

What a spectacular, yet utterly horrifying sight it was.

Hundreds of billions of identical eyes, flashing with pure malice, looked up at the sky simultaneously.

Under the unified hive mind of the strongest Tomie, they all moved as one.

The Tomie Army had descended!

Within the ruins of a city locked in a bitter struggle.

A slender monster spreading madness suddenly halted its movements. It sensed a far more terrifying entity rapidly approaching.

The next second, a Tomie clone, wearing a sweet yet sickly smile, strolled leisurely up to it.

Instinctively, the monster blasted its powerful mental shockwave—one strong enough to drive a Titan mad—ruthlessly into Tomie.

However, after entering Tomie's consciousness, that mental torrent didn't affect her in the slightest.

"Is that all you've got?"

The smile on Tomie's face widened. From her eyes erupted a malice and mental corruption deeper than the abyss and purer than chaos.

It was a terrifying will that infinitely magnified the "self," assimilating everything into "Tomie."

"Ah..."

The once-arrogant monster let out a whimper the instant it came into contact with this mental corruption.

Its will, like ice and snow beneath a blazing sun, was instantly washed away and dissolved.

Immediately after, its slender, twisted body began to convulse and deform violently.

Finally, under the terrified gazes of the surrounding soldiers, the monster's head forcefully twisted and reshaped itself, growing into an exquisitely beautiful face identical to the girl standing before it.

It had been reverse-corrupted. It had become Tomie.
