Chapter 559 - MTC Chapter 588: The Wooden Coffin Hidden Beneath the Hotel

Yang Yi took out a few submachine guns and casually handed them to the still-trembling Alex and the others.

"It's a bit boring just standing around doing nothing, isn't it?"

"Have some fun."

With the firearms and the help of Tomie acting as a meat shield, the pack of wild wolves and the swarm of snakes were quickly wiped out.

Just as everyone thought the crisis was temporarily alleviated...

"Vrrrm—Rumble—!!!"

The roar of an engine echoed from the sky above.

Everyone looked up in horror.

A massive passenger plane was diving straight toward the estate.

That familiar aircraft model instantly shattered Alex's already fragile nerves.

His pupils shrank, as if he had been transported back to that doomed, exploding plane.

Fear drained all the strength from his body, and he slumped limply to the ground.

"180..."

"It's Flight 180..."

The shadow of the out-of-control Boeing airliner enveloped the entire estate.

The shrieking of tearing air and its unstoppable plummeting momentum brought an intense, suffocating pressure.

The survivors completely gave up on resisting.

They closed their eyes, waiting for their destined deaths.

Even Tomie frowned; this big guy was indeed a bit tricky to deal with.

Meanwhile.

Inside the underground monitoring center of the North American branch of a certain secret containment organization.

Piercing alarms blared.

"Alert! Alert! High-intensity chain disaster event detected!"

"The energy index in the target area is climbing exponentially!"

"Confirmed as Anomaly [Death]!"

The commander stared fixedly at the real-time surveillance footage transmitted by the satellite, his face ashen, gripping his coffee mug so tightly it nearly shattered.

"Damn it! That's a commercial airliner fully loaded with passengers!"

"It's too late for a rescue!"

"Notify all departments, prepare for an information lockdown!"

Just one second before the plane was about to crash into the estate.

A figure appeared in mid-air.

Facing the diving airliner, Yang Yi gently raised his right hand.

Inside the estate, all the survivors who had closed their eyes waiting for death opened them in confusion, as their anticipated demise had yet to arrive.

They witnessed a scene they would never forget for the rest of their lives.

The out-of-control plane was actually being held steadily by that man with a single hand.

Then, with a light flick of his arm, Yang Yi tossed the massive airliner.

As if it were completely weightless, the plane floated gently toward an empty field in the distance.

Back in the estate, Yang Yi slowly landed and spoke to the sky, "Alright, you can queue up the next act."

His words enraged Death once again.

The earth trembled anew, and this time, the quaking was far more violent than before.

*Crack... cr-crack...*

Massive, bottomless fissures frantically spread in all directions, centering right beneath everyone's feet.

Eventually, the ground split open to reveal a deep chasm. From the depths of the rift, two bizarre, ancient coffins slowly emerged from the dirt.

One was a classic Gothic stone coffin, carved with intricate and sinister patterns.

The other appeared even more eerie, tightly bound from top to bottom by thick chains radiating an ominous green glow.

*Click.*

A soft sound echoed.

The heavy lid of the Gothic stone coffin slowly slid to the side.

An elegant, pale-faced man dressed in a full set of medieval noble attire slowly sat up from within.

He took a deep breath of air, a look of absolute intoxication washing over his face.

"What a beautiful night... this rich scent of blood, this fragrance of fresh souls... What a perfect welcome ceremony!"

"Who... has awakened the great Dracula? I shall grant him eternal life!"

Seeing this newcomer, Tomie's eyes instantly lit up, and she immediately shouted at Yang Yi.

"I'll take this one! Let me handle this one!"

"I've never seen a vampire with my own eyes before!"

Count Dracula noticed the crowd on the ground.

His gaze swept over the survivors and finally landed on Miko, who possessed the most vigorous life force, intending to make her his first dessert upon awakening.

His body instantly transformed into a massive swarm of black bats, lunging toward Miko.

However, Tomie had already stepped in front of him.

"Hehe, trying to run?"

In an instant, Tomie used Idle Transfiguration, splitting into countless "mini-Tomies."

The split mini-Tomies instantly formed a massive net in mid-air, catching the entire swarm of bats.

The next second, the large net contracted, merging back into Tomie's main body.

In her hand, she was pinching the neck of Count Dracula, who had been forced back into his human form.

This legendary King of Vampires appeared so incredibly fragile before a far more unreasonable monster.

"Im... Impossible! What kind of thing are you?!"

Dracula's face was written with terror and disbelief.

Tomie didn't answer him.

She opened her mouth, revealing two sharp fangs, and bit down hard on Dracula's neck right before his terrified eyes.

Subsequently, Count Dracula's immortal body rapidly shriveled at a visible rate.

He let out a series of miserable shrieks, ultimately turning completely to ash as Tomie drained him dry.

Tomie wiped her mouth, looking as though she hadn't quite had enough.

"The taste was average, a bit scratchy on the throat, but it was definitely highly nutritious."

The survivors were completely numb.

They felt that the monsters they had seen today outnumbered all the horror movies they had watched in their entire lives.

Meanwhile, the attention of Miko and the others was drawn to the other coffin.

That coffin, bound by green chains, exuded an aura of pure, deeply unsettling madness.

It was as if all the chaos and evil in the world originated from within it.

Miko felt a mysterious power drawing her in.

She secretly activated her [Eyes of Truth] and gazed toward the coffin tightly bound by the green chains.

In an instant, countless maddening ravings flooded her mind.

Endless, twisted to the extreme, smiles full of madness and malice were captured by her various senses, subsequently warping her psyche.

An indescribable sensation, like the dying wails and maniacal laughter of countless universes, poured directly into her brain, tearing at her soul.

"Hahahaha!!"

An eerie laugh escaped Miko's lips.

Two trails of bright red blood tears flowed uncontrollably from the corners of her eyes.

Her [Eyes of Truth], the moment it saw that entity, was forcibly overwhelmed and shut down by the terrifying stream of information it contained.

Miko collapsed limply to the ground, her mouth curling up uncontrollably into that eerie expression.

Using every ounce of her strength, she roared at the group.

"Don't look!"

"Absolutely do not look!"

"There's... there's a monster inside!!!"

Yang Yi stepped forward and helped Miko up, pouring a bucket of milk down her throat. Her condition gradually improved.

Her expression returned to normal, and the frantic madness at the corners of her mouth vanished.

Yang Yi patted her head. "Let's see if you dare to look around recklessly next time."

"What is locked inside there?" Miko asked, a wave of delayed fear washing over her as she recalled that hideous smile, that Joker-like expression, and the headpiece similar to Batman's.

Yang Yi looked at the violently shaking coffin. "What's locked inside is Bruce Wayne from the Dark Multiverse!"

"The DC comics in your world haven't reached this point yet, so you can just understand him as a Batman who turned into the Joker."

"Of course, you can also call him—The Batman Who Laughs!"

As Yang Yi spoke that name, the coffin shook even more violently.
