Chapter 112 - 112

After Kyuushin left the Hokage Office, he didn't return to the Senju Residence but went to the Uzumaki Clan's compound.

This was mainly because he had already sent Nagato there before going to the Third Hokage, so he naturally had to go back and check on him.

Along the way, many villagers recognized him and greeted him warmly. Before, Kyuushin had quietly completed missions, and few shinobi, let alone villagers, knew him.

Now, merely winning a war had spread his name throughout the entire village, which was also related to his nickname.

Arriving at the Uzumaki Clan's compound, Kyuushin saw Miyo Uzumaki and Nagato as soon as he entered. Their red eyes indicated they had just been crying. Uzumaki Masaaki, Yahiko, and Konan were also by their side.

Seeing Kyuushin enter, Masaaki first offered warm greetings. He had strongly opposed Kyuushin going to the battlefield before, but ultimately couldn't dissuade him.

Although it seemed Kyuushin's participation in the war had gained him considerable fame, as his grandfather, Masaaki's primary concern was naturally his health.

Seeing Kyuushin completely unharmed, Masaaki's heart returned to his chest. Kyuushin then took the opportunity to ask:

"Is Nagato's mother an Uzumaki clan member? I have some memory, but it's very vague."

Masaaki nodded, looked at Nagato, and said, "Yes, she is indeed one of our clan members. Fusao was quite close with Miyo; they often played together before she got married.

However, later, she fell for a foreigner who came to the Land of Whirlpools for business. Her parents initially didn't want to agree, but they couldn't refuse her and had to consent. No one expected them to go to the Land of Rain. Alas!"

He then continued, "But fortunately, you found Nagato this time. Otherwise, this child, alone and helpless, might not have survived.

Now that we've confirmed he has the Uzumaki bloodline, we will naturally treat him well. After all, we must cherish every clan member now."

Kyuushin nodded, but then he said to Masaaki, "The other two are also war orphans, just like Nagato. Nagato received a lot of care from them before, so it wouldn't be right to separate them now. Let them stay together."

"No problem, I would have done the same even if you hadn't said anything. They are all good children," Masaaki said, nodding. With the Uzumaki Clan's financial resources, they could support not just two orphans, but even two hundred.

Moreover, and most importantly, with the protection of the Uzumaki Clan, their status would not be an issue, and they could stay in Konoha indefinitely. Otherwise, Konoha would not casually take in orphans like them.

Kyuushin walked over to Yahiko and Konan, who still seemed a bit awkward, and said to them:

"This is the Uzumaki Clan's compound. You will live here with Nagato from now on. How do you feel about that?"

"Thank you so much!" Yahiko immediately bowed to Kyuushin. Konan, seeing Yahiko, also intended to follow suit.

However, Kyuushin stopped her gently. Seeing that both were quite satisfied, Kyuushin brought up another matter:

"At your age, going to school isn't quite suitable anymore. However, we have teachers within our clan who will teach you some knowledge.

You can also learn ninjutsu, but first, you need to build a solid foundation. Becoming a shinobi is not an overnight task, so you don't need to rush. Just treat this place as your home."

Upon hearing Kyuushin's words, Yahiko naturally expressed his gratitude once more.

Yahiko and Konan's situation was relatively easy to handle, but Nagato's was more difficult. His Rinnegan could not be deactivated. Although the Rinnegan was unfamiliar to ordinary shinobi,[1][2]

it was normal for any shinobi with a certain level of knowledge to recognize the Rinnegan. For example, Jiraiya and Hanzo in the original storyline had both heard of the legend of the Rinnegan.

Therefore, to solve this problem, the first person Kyuushin thought of was Mito. With Mito's mastery of sealing techniques, completely sealing the Rinnegan might not be possible, but merely obscuring it should not be an issue.

After all, the Sage of Six Paths was too far in the past. It was already difficult for most people to know about the Rinnegan, and almost no one knew what abilities the Rinnegan possessed.

So, as long as the distinctive features of the Rinnegan could be hidden, even if its abilities were used, ordinary people would only consider it a secret technique and wouldn't associate it with the Rinnegan.[2][3]

Thinking of this, Kyuushin didn't hesitate. The sooner this matter was handled, the better. So he walked directly to Miyo and Nagato and said:

"Aunt Miyo, I need to take Nagato out for a bit. We'll be back afterward."

Miyo looked at him with some confusion, but the fewer people who knew about this, the better, so he could only say:

"It's a secret, but it definitely won't be detrimental to Nagato. Please rest assured."

Seeing this, Miyo no longer objected. Nagato naturally had no opinion. Yahiko and Konan also wanted to follow, but Kyuushin persuaded them to stay, and then he took Nagato out.

"I'm taking you to see another elder of mine. She is also from our Uzumaki Clan. You might have realized that there's something special about you, so I'm asking her to help you with it."

Along the way, Kyuushin explained to Nagato, who nodded without speaking.

Nagato naturally knew about his own anomaly, but he didn't know what it meant, and he also trusted that Kyuushin wouldn't harm him.

Soon, they arrived at the Senju Residence. Before even entering, he heard Nawaki's boisterous voice at the door, presumably showing off his experiences from this time to Mito.

Kyuushin walked in with Nagato and saw that it was indeed true. Nawaki was talking incessantly, Minato quietly stayed by his side, and Mito watched the two with a beaming smile on her face.

"Grandma, I'm back."

Seeing Kyuushin approach, Nawaki stopped. Mito looked at the entering Kyuushin, her smile deepening, and said, "It's good that you're back."

After speaking, she looked at Nagato next to him. Nagato gave her a strange feeling, so she asked, "Who is this?"

"Nagato also has the Uzumaki bloodline. He used to live in the Land of Rain, but his family was affected by the war. I happened to encounter him and brought him back to Konoha."

However, Mito didn't smile. Instead, she narrowed her eyes and observed Nagato from head to toe. Just as Nagato approached, the Nine-Tails chakra within her suddenly became docile.

This had never happened before, and it made Mito raise her guard immediately.

Kyuushin saw Mito's reaction. Although he didn't know how she had discovered it, he assumed she had sensed Nagato's abnormality, so he directly said:

"Grandma, I brought Nagato here because I need your help. Can we go to the place we went last time?"

Mito looked at Nagato again, then nodded and said, "You two follow me."

Nawaki, beside them, was full of questions and was about to speak, but Kyuushin gave him a look, signaling him not to say too much. Seeing this, Nawaki could only keep his questions to himself.

Mito led the two to the place where she had previously helped Kyuushin unlock his Second Stage Gene Lock. She casually activated a barrier jutsu and turned to Kyuushin, saying:

"Alright, you can tell me what's going on now."

Kyuushin nodded, looked at Nagato behind him, and said, "Show your eyes to Grandma."

Nagato hesitated for a moment but still pushed aside his covering hair, revealing his eyes.

They were a pair of pale purple eyes with concentric ripple patterns. As Kyuushin looked at these eyes, he immediately felt a mysterious and powerful sensation wash over him.

"This... This is the legendary... Rinnegan?!"

Even the knowledgeable Mito showed shock upon seeing these eyes, and her voice trembled slightly.

"Rinnegan... What is that?" Nagato, hearing this term for the first time, couldn't help but ask.

Mito calmed the turmoil in her heart slightly and explained to Nagato:

"These are the legendary eyes of the Sage of Six Paths. It is said that he used these eyes to create all things in the world and possessed the ability to control life and death, but the truth of that is no longer verifiable.[2]

Before, I always thought the Rinnegan was just a legend, but I never expected it to actually exist."

"Control life and death?" Nagato murmured. If it were true, then his parents...

Mito recalled the ancient texts in her clan, but quickly shook her head. Although those texts had been passed down from a very long time ago, what they described was so fantastical that Mito mostly didn't believe it.

By this time, she understood why Kyuushin had come to her. The Rinnegan had never appeared in a thousand years, and its sudden appearance would undoubtedly cause a huge stir if word got out.

Not only externally, but even within the village, it was hard to guarantee that no one would be tempted. After all, these were the legendary eyes of a Sage. If one could glimpse the power of a Sage, it was almost impossible for any shinobi to resist that temptation.[4]

"You want me to help conceal his Rinnegan?" Mito asked directly.

"Yes, Grandma. You also know that if the news of Nagato possessing the Rinnegan gets out, Konoha will inevitably become a target of everyone, and we must guard against it."

Before Mito could speak, Nagato said tremblingly, "Will my eyes bring you a lot of trouble?"

Nagato was kind-hearted. Although he didn't know what these eyes meant, just hearing Mito's description told him it was no ordinary matter. Kyuushin had even directly stated that it would pose a threat to Konoha. If it was such a dangerous thing, he would rather not have it.

Kyuushin also saw through his thoughts and couldn't help but sigh silently. Nagato, such a kind person, was eventually forced into that state.

Although Uchiha Madara also pursued peace, he had taken the wrong path from the beginning, and his schemes led to even more tragedies.

"Good child, you truly are a good child. Don't worry, I will help you."

Mito also understood Nagato's thoughts and felt his kindness, so she couldn't help but say.

"Grandma, relax the Nine-Tails' seal and let the Nine-Tails also see these eyes," Kyuushin said at this moment.

"Hmm?" Mito showed a puzzled expression.
