Chapter 172 - Women

I wordlessly turned and followed him as he led me in the opposite direction.

What I though had been a road turned out to be several paths, some a lot wider than the other. We climbed one of the numerous rising steps and slopes that curved along from the edge of the cliff and deeper into it. The climb upwards was strangely not sharp.

Other wolves passed us on even wider paths, and I froze mid-step when I saw what some were riding.

It looked like the carriage Ila had ridden back in Fresna, but it was smaller and it seemed exposed while someone sat on a small burly hairy animal that pulled the makeshift cart. Its wheels rolled smoothly over the wide path it took.

It didn't take long for us to get to the top, and when we did, my heart nearly stopped.

The buildings weren't as tall as the ones in Orpal or Fresna. Most of them were only five stories tall at most, with many being even shorter. But what they lacked in height, they made up for it in beauty.
