Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

This story has a few small charms of its own. The heroine's strength grows gradually — she's not invincible from the start. It's a mostly lighthearted and heartwarming story, with no angst or abuse. Just sit back and enjoy it.

The first chapter mainly introduces Anna's abilities and the story's world settings. If that's not your thing, feel free to skip ahead to Chapter Two.

If you're the kind of reader who likes to "turn off your brain" and just relax, this is the perfect place for you. You can pick your brain back up later — just make sure you don't grab the wrong one.

The story's timeline begins when Ace has just set sail, about three years before Luffy begins his own journey. This fanfic includes a few OOC moments and original elements, so please don't be too harsh if that bothers you.

The heroine, Anna, is the same age as Ace. She was fourteen when she arrived in the world of One Piece. Adopted by a kind couple who ran a tavern near the Whitebeard Pirates' base, she lived an ordinary life until she accidentally ate a Devil Fruit at sixteen.

The rest of the timeline will be explained within the chapters.

Below are a few preview fragments to give you a taste of what's coming.

Anna's Devil Fruit is called the Dream-Dream Fruit — it allows her to freely enter other people's dreams and even unlock various extensions of that power.

Without further delay, let's begin with the pilot chapters.

Fragment One

"Hey, what's this kid doing here? Hey, wake up! Wake up!"

"Who knows? Maybe she's some poor orphan washed ashore."

"Oh, how pitiful…"

When Anna slowly opened her eyes, all she could hear was the chatter of strangers around her. Did I drink myself into the street or something?

"Child, where did you come from? What happened to you?" A gentle woman crouched down and helped her sit up.

Anna blinked, looking around in confusion. She was lying on a beach, surrounded by unfamiliar faces — and even stranger, her body looked smaller.

"It's all right, don't be afraid. Did something happen to you?"

"I… I don't know. I can't remember anything." Faced with a situation she didn't understand, Anna decided it was safest to pretend she had amnesia.

"Oh, just look at this poor child — so polite and well-behaved," an elderly woman nearby sighed. "Joanna, why don't you take her home? Raise her as your own."

"Yes, Jonah," another added. "Didn't you always want a child? Maybe the Sea God took pity on you and sent one your way."

"What's your name, sweetheart? Do you remember it? Would you like to come home with me? I can be your mother." The woman named Joanna looked down kindly at her.

Anna hesitated. She was lost in an unfamiliar world with nowhere to go, so she nodded quickly. "I remember my name. It's Anna."

And from that day on, the tavern couple had a daughter named Anna.

Fragment Two

Time passed, and Anna gradually adjusted to her new life. She soon realized she had somehow landed in the world of One Piece.

Every so often, she would go down to the beach, searching for clues about why she was here — but two years went by without any answers.

One afternoon, as she lay under a coconut tree, yawning lazily, a round fruit suddenly dropped straight into her open mouth.

She bit into it out of reflex — and immediately regretted it. The taste was indescribably awful, like her tongue had been dragged through a bucket of dirty sock water mixed with detergent, chili paste, mustard, and spit.

"Ahhh—what the hell is this?!"

Her entire body convulsed. She wanted to cut her tongue off, rolling around on the sand like a fish out of water.

When the horror finally faded, she lay there exhausted, her energy completely drained. Somehow, she managed to stumble back to her room and brushed her teeth twenty times before collapsing into bed.

When she opened her eyes again… she wasn't in her room anymore.

She was floating in midair, surrounded by glowing crystal orbs and drifting clouds. Each crystal displayed moving scenes, like tiny worlds of their own.

"Am I… dreaming?"

She tried to wake herself up, and suddenly she was back in her dark little room. But the next time she fell asleep, she was back in that mysterious place again.

It took her a while to realize what had happened — the fruit she'd eaten was a Devil Fruit, and this was its ability.

From then on, Anna began to experiment, slowly exploring and mastering the strange powers of her Dream-Dream Fruit.

Fragment Three

Once Anna grew comfortable using her power, she started organizing the crystal orbs — the "dream spheres" — that appeared around her.

Each orb represented a person's dream, their position determined by how close that person was to her. Without marking them, it was easy to get lost.

As she explored, she began to see countless dreams — some strange, some funny, some beautiful.

Marco's dream, for instance, was exactly what you'd expect from him: piles of paperwork neatly stacked on his desk, the other division commanders helping sort the reports, even Whitebeard himself quietly signing off documents. Meanwhile, Marco was lounging nearby, eating a pineapple and basking in the sun.

"Yeah, that dream's never coming true," Anna said dryly.

She had gotten to know the Whitebeard Pirates pretty well by then. Since she often delivered wine from her adoptive parents' tavern, she handled the bookkeeping for the deals. She knew their personalities — and Marco's "lazy vacation" dream definitely didn't fit reality.

"Entering the dream… generating a reasonable identity. I won't disrupt the natural flow of the dream," she muttered, more out of habit than anything else.

Her body shimmered into focus as she stepped inside Marco's dream. In the dream world, minor figures always looked hazy, like they were covered in static.

"Captain Marco, here are the reports from the other captains."

Marco looked up and nodded, "Got it. Leave them there." He picked up the stack, flew over to Whitebeard, and began explaining something in detail.

After leaving Marco's dream, Anna drifted through many others — Big Mom's dreams were made entirely of desserts, while Doflamingo's were endless nightmares. She once considered changing one of his dreams, but thought better of it. Doflamingo was far too sharp; even a small disturbance might alert him.

Her favorite dreams to visit were always Shanks'. His were huge, lively parties where one extra person wouldn't stand out. And honestly, who could resist joining a Red-Haired Pirates' banquet?

"This one's always fun," Anna grinned as she slipped into his dream again.

Sure enough, the crew was already singing the pirate song.

"Yo-ho-ho, yo-ho-yo-ho!"

Anna joined in happily, knowing the dream would soon end — Shanks' dreams always wrapped up once the song reached its chorus.

And as expected, moments later she was gently pushed out of the dreamscape.

Seeing that the number of dream spheres around her hadn't decreased much, Anna waved her hand, releasing a few bursts of dream energy to balance things out.

After spending all her energy for the night, she finally stepped out of the dream world and returned to her cozy little room.
